I just beat the game a couple of hours ago. What an absolute fucking masterpiece. The songs, this game, and this entire world that Miyazaki created. I've never cried at a sad movie or song or anything else for emotional reasons aside from the passing of a family member, but this right here made me cry like a little bitch for a good couple of minutes. Just...wow. It's all over now. This is it. Gaming is basically my only hobby, and is something I've always done since I turned 6yrs old. I've played hundreds of games, more than I'd ever care to count, but this franchise right here is something so amazing and special. I think the biggest reason this got me so choked up was knowing that for me at least, this is hands down the best game/series I have ever had the pleasure of playing in all my years gaming. Not perfect (looking at you, DS2), no, but nothing is. This is the platinum standard to which I will hold every other game/franchise I ever touch for the rest of my days. This, the Dark Souls series, is undoubtedly the greatest thing I have ever played, and probably will ever play til the end of times, and that's something that, as "serious" of a gamer as I am, makes me immensely sad, but also incredibly happy that I got to experience it. Games are an art form to me, and this game and entire franchise is a stunning masterpiece that needs to be remembered and learned from by other game designers for as long as games are being made. The cold, broken, empty sadness and fragile beauty of Dark Souls' world and all of the haunting and tragic stories of Lordran are things that I'll always carry with me. I'm so sad that it's over, but I'm so glad I got to enjoy it. Words really can't express my love and respect for this series and Miyazaki's work with it. The story of Dark Souls is over, but the story of Miyazaki and FromSoftware are not. What a perfect way to close such a beautiful, grotesque thing as Dark Souls.

But the only part where I cried like a little b* and had to take a break was when I saw that the giant merchant (one of my favourite npc) was dead. But I'll try to cheer you up with demons souls and bloodborne, as fromsoft didn't declare them as finished, so maybe they'll get sequels. I personally find demons souls very comparable to dark souls. And bloodborne is great too! not as emotional I'd say, well, actually immensely fucked up but still really addicting. And for me more challenging than dark souls/demons souls, because of speed (never used a shield except in sen's fortress). So if you like demons souls and bloodborne, then you have something to look forward to :3
+Znijik You should give the Bloodborne soundtrack a listen as well if you are liking the DS3 soundtrack. They have raised the bar HIGH with their latest two games in terms of boss design, presentation and music.

I would replace dancer's theme with Soul of Cinder. The throwback to gwyn's theme and the intensity of it at the same time brought a really hype, dark song, combined with a light, emotional theme and worked perfectly

Synthetic Legion yeah. It's like the boss fight itself is based on the music. Like you come in, one voice appears, then soon another two, he charges at you and fights with you with his dancing fight style, while the music is building up.
A small amount of people loved orchestral music, before 1st dark souls was released. Thats why i love this series, dark souls is not focused on big masses, it can born a real emotions, like a good painting or a symphony. Its not just a game, its a masterpiece.
When I first got this game a few months ago, as soon as I loaded the game up on the title screen alone I had to sit there for a solid 5 minutes with chills down my spin and just take in this beautiful music, This game series has made me feel a range of emotions as I'm sure everyone else who has played the series has which is why it is a masterpiece of art, to make the player feel all these emotions blended together and be able to produce such a beautiful and colourful world with such a deep and dark background to every little thing and on top of all that, to have this music that just compliments the games environments and struggles is what makes this series one that sticks in my mind, I'm sad that this is the last game of the series but I'm glad I got a chance to play this and that it ends on such a high standard so that people will remember it as good as it is.
Yeah, praise the guy who only wrote 7 tracks (28% of the OST) and gets most of the credit, while the other lady composed a whopping 64% of the soundtrack, including the main themes and credits, while being a bit higher than a footnote in the credits. Motoi Sakuraba is a great composer. But he gets more attention than he deserves sometimes, at the expense of people as good if not better than him.
Soul of Cinder remains a genius piece of music. Wow! When it becomes Gwyns theme and he starts chucking lightning bolts, you know you're facing a culmination of three games' worth of lessons. He definitely is one of the best boss fights in the trilogy, and a joy to fight
Dark Souls 3 definitely has the best soundtrack of any of the souls games in my opinion, I mean DS1 has some damn good music but fucking hell the Pontiff fight song and the Soul of Cinder song fuck me up every single time.
about 6 hrs into this game and I can confidently say it is my favorite souls game. They just totally nailed it. Amazing visuals, amazing soundtrack, amazing story, and amazing gameplay. FROM really outdid themselves for this final installment to the series.
Track 2 along with the trailer was one of the most epic things I've ever seen.. the sweeps of the camera over the world, the crescendo into the part where they show fighting.. the soprano voice.. singing a tale of human expression, horror, striving, LIVING. Just epic.

I think the two best parts out of this whole soundtrack are the Abyss Watchers fight when it builds up to the two men doing the low opera and the Soul of Cinder when Gwyn's music starts to play after he gets into his second stage. Both gave me so many goosebumps and nostalgia from the Cinder fight
Holy shit, fightning against the soul of cinder and realizing who the boss was as soon as you enter the fog gate gave me enough feels to cry and then the freaking phase 2 comes in with that moveset and the amazing music arrangement with gwyn's theme, i was not ready at all. I love this game so much
that makes me sad to be a newcomer. I may have to play through dks1 before fighting soul of cinder but I'm right there so I just wanna demolish him lol
I will not make a huge sentence to explain how Dark Souls is beautiful, for it's story, it's ost (btw it is amazing the way each boss ost fit perfectly with bosses themselves, you can hear their background in each note) it's landscape, it's sadness, it's depressing world. People who played this game with their heart, and their feelings, know what I mean.

Secret Betrayal after the Gwyn fight sounds like a turning point in the entire game. I'm really anxious to see what it is? It sounds really dark and saddening. I teared up a bit listening to it without knowing the cutscene lol. Also it seems fitting to finish off the last souls game with the Lord of Cinder who set the world into chaos in the first place, Gwyn.

Aaaaaaaah, that is more like it. I feel that this soundtrack is on par with the original Dark Souls in terms of uniqueness. Dark Souls II only had a few themes that were instantly recognizable, like the Ruin Sentinels, the Skeleton Lords, Sir Alonne, and a couple of others. The other themes in DSII sadly sounded all the same. But with DSIII, I feel like I could name the boss just by listening to the theme alone. ^^
This certainly does sound like Dark Souls II, some tracks (Yhorn the Giant) but others, like Nameless King really reminded me of Seath, the Scaleless Theme from Dark Souls 1. Given the nature of this game's bosses names, i would bet we will see the ancient lords return
+Zidane Mina The Soundtrack of Dark Souls 1 was done by Motoi Sakuraba, Most of Dark Souls II was also done by Motoi by several songs were by Yuka Kitamura (Who also did most of the bloodborne soundtrack). Dark Souls III was mainly Yuka but some songs were Motoi which is why this soundtrack feels like a great combination of the different scores from both games
Alright, after going through the game and listening to each track afterwards, I have a feeling. Every track that was composed by Motoi Sakuraba somehow felt underwhelming. Greatwood... Wolnir... Old Demon King... Aldritch... Even the Nameless King. I can't remember if I felt eargasmic while fighting those bosses. Almost EVERY other track is simply put astounding though. Yuka Kitamura's compositions are top tier.

Secret Betrayal after the Gwyn fight sounds like a turning point in the entire game. I'm really anxious to see what it is? It sounds really dark and saddening. I teared up a bit listening to it without knowing the cutscene lol.
Also it seems fitting to finish off the last souls game with the Lord of Cinder who set the world into chaos in the first place, Gwyn.

Nameless King one reminds me a lot of Old Dragonslayer theme from Dark Souls 2.
+Last Second Bloomer ikr! reminds me of Orn & Smough too. imo the battles against dragonslayers have the best music in the series.
My favorite's Dragonslayer Armour, Yhorm the Giant and Nameless King. The others are also really amazing and powerfull dont know i like them all :D

I feel that this soundtrack is on par with the original Dark Souls in terms of uniqueness.
Dark Souls II only had a few themes that were instantly recognizable, like the Ruin Sentinels, the Skeleton Lords, Sir Alonne, and a couple of others. The other themes in DSII sadly sounded all the same.
But with DSIII, I feel like I could name the boss just by listening to the theme alone. ^^
This certainly does sound like Dark Souls II, some tracks (Yhorn the Giant) but others, like Nameless King really reminded me of Seath, the Scaleless Theme from Dark Souls 1. Given the nature of this game's bosses names, i would bet we will see the ancient lords return

+Zidane Mina The Soundtrack of Dark Souls 1 was done by Motoi Sakuraba, Most of Dark Souls II was also done by Motoi by several songs were by Yuka Kitamura (Who also did most of the bloodborne soundtrack).
Dark Souls III was mainly Yuka but some songs were Motoi which is why this soundtrack feels like a great combination of the different scores from both games
Alright, after going through the game and listening to each track afterwards, I have a feeling.
Every track that was composed by Motoi Sakuraba somehow felt underwhelming.
Greatwood... Wolnir... Old Demon King... Aldritch... Even the Nameless King. I can't remember if I felt eargasmic while fighting those bosses. Almost EVERY other track is simply put astounding though. Yuka Kitamura's compositions are top tier.
Never played any of the Dark Souls, but the soundtrack is amazing!
you should try them out then, you can start anywhere in the game and still never figure out the lore until you watch youtubers explaining it.
