"This man understands existence and adversity are one and the same." - The Best Narrator Ever, about King Baldwin IV if he weren't crippled and whooped ass in combat
In these halls, your mind will be bent until it nearly snaps, your bones will quiver from the forces of devilry. Every corner hides both great treasure, and seemingly insurmountable darkness. You will always be one step away from death, one blink away from madness...but know this...without darkness, we would not know light. So when the challenge seems impossible, when death has you cradled against his robed chest, remember your purpose and revel in the light of your mission. You will prevail.
+Joe Barbieri The first half was in the style on The Ancestor, so kudos to you for that. The other half just falls into trivial encouragement, however. Oh well - still a like for you.

Веселин Павлов Well it is how our expectations work. Most people don't go to OST videos expecting disclaimers about monetization and/or ownership rights. Afterall, that would be working against themselfs, since those channels gain revenue by pretty much stealing content from artists - who then don't see anything for their work in majority of cases. On the point of "just complimating you on not being a scumbag"... I don't really care. It's the internet and majority of comments should not be taken seriously word for word. Although you have a point. But it is also how some people speak... instead of saying directly what they think, they might change up their wording to differ your expectations in different stages of their sentances. Or it just came to his mind without him thinking. Who knows, not really a big deal. But I do share your wishes for more positive place. :P

This is one of the best soundtrack I've ever heard for a game. It reminds me of the original Diablo soundtrack mixed with the Thin Red Line movie soundtrack.
Thanks to the easy availability of the OST on UA-cam, its impact during gameplay, the link to Bandcamp, I _had_ to buy the OST. If artists want to make a living, I think this is a great example of how to go on about it. I don't even buy the OST for the quality of the MP3 files, but because of the love for it and the respect for the artist. (Needless to say, Chatwood is amongst my favourite composers, if only for the PoP: SoT trilogy.) - The "Darkest Dungeon" OST had a very immersive effect and it's an experience in and of itself.
The Hamlet theme in Darkest Dungeon, reminds me of Firelink Shrine Theme from Dark Souls 1 (specially the beginning). It makes sense because both take a similar role as being kindof a central hub for the game.
Ruin has come to our family. You remember our venerable house, opulent and imperial. Gazing proudly from its stoic perch above the moor. I lived all my years in that ancient, rumor shadowed manor. Fattened by decadence and luxury. And yet, I began to tire of conventional extravagance. Singular, unsettling tales suggested the mansion itself was a gateway to some fabulous and unnamable power. With relic and ritual, I bent every effort towards the excavation and recovery of those long buried secrets, exhausting what remained of our family fortune on swarthy workmen and sturdy shovels. At last, in the salt-soaked crags beneath the lowest foundations we unearthed that damnable portal and antediluvian evil. Our every step unsettled the ancient earth but we were in a realm of death and madness! In the end, I alone fled laughing and wailing through those blackened arcades of antiquity. Until consciousness failed me. You remember our venerable house, opulent and imperial. It is a festering abomination! I beg you, return home, claim your birthright and deliver our family from the ravenous clutching shadows of the Darkest Dungeon.
This sound track is great for spooky atmospheres, I'm playing Betrayal at the House on the Hill. Some parts are hit and miss but in general this is great thanks for the upload!
This is the best comment section I have ever seen and it is also one of the best game I have ever played. Obligatory quote from the narrator "Prodigious size alone does not dissuade the sharpened blade".
Mournweald Encounter is such an iconic track. It's so oppressive and the trills make it feel like you're spiraling further and further into hell while you're fighting for your life against unbeatable Eldritch monsters. Which you are. Great blend of action and horror elements. Also for the fact that it's against the Collector, which is one of the best bosses in the game.

I absolutely love the cove music because it incorporates the two bosses

Also the violin from pirate shanties
And the bell from the captain (Although, it can be heard since the beggining)
