  • Watch UW Ri3D, the world's largest Ri3D team, reveal their FIRST DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE competition robot in 3 days, Ragnar!
With 30 students at the University of Waterloo, we inspire FIRST Robotics Competition teams around the world by building a robot in 3 days. For 72 hours, we investigate the FIRST challenge, prepare a design, manufacture a chassis, wire electromechanical systems, and program an entire FRC robot - 40 days before bag and tag.

@@anim8ted923 tough when bumpers are not included on sides. I am not seeing how you would attach side bumpers but maybe missing something.

@Robert Jenko Nothing that can't be fixed by attaching a small cube in between the wheels. The rules would be satisfied even if the cubed was held in by duct tape, as long as the bumpers are held securely.

@@robertjenko5032 This is a "West Coast" type chassis (click Jason's link above to see other West coast chassis with bumper mounts). Ri3D robots will not be competing in actual FRC competitions so they can ignore the bumper rules, unless it affects the function of their design. That's why they added front & rear bumpers.

You can’t pick up a ball and a hatch panel at the same time silly, also it looks a bit inaccurate, how would you compensate for that, also how did you finding picking up the ball with that system

we knew that we couldn't hold both pieces at the same time, we only did that to show the robot's capabilities in a shorter amount of time since we only had access to game pieces for a limited amount of time

And what do you mean by compensation? The intake works pretty well!
