True. They were at least the 7th or 8th seed. The only thing is that it took a decent run in a couple of those years to get out of the 9th and 10th seeds-especially last year when it came down to the final three games and a controversial call. Had the Pels won their game, the Lakers would have been in one of those lower seeds.

In fairness there has been guys who has played longer than bron and have been effective they weren't just to get their stats...Ray Allen was still scoring in double figure into his 40s...and ppl say nothing has changed but his points did go down last season.
In both 2021 and 2023, they finished the regular season as the 7th seed. And this year, they finished 8th which would have matched them up with OKC in the 1st round as oppose to Denver, if not for the play in tournament. In no way shape or form have the Lakers benefitted from the play in tournament.
