Murray, who has missed 47 percent of Denver’s regular-season games over the past four seasons, is also living proof that Jokic is indeed the most valuable player in the league.

Denver could be getting players for cheap because playing with Joker gets you paid, like it did for Bruce Brown and KCP. The problem is that the GM doesn't do that and only drafts rookies and expects rookies to help them win. It's ridiculous.
So you want him to over spend for average players?

@@chikitosebastian2099 They need to be invited first, or you think players are not interested in making money?
@@rootofallevi there are plenty of good players who are close to the league minimum. Just think how good Alex Caruso would look in a Denver uniform with Braun still coming off the bench. They could’ve been active on reaching the Bulls before OKC and Dan silent trade with KCP if he was interested.
@@SDesWriter it's still a business, why would they pay for Caruso? He don't move the needle. A backcourt of Caruso and Murray is t scaring no one. Ya dudes be overhypin Caruso, he is a average guard
Nuggets overpaid MPJ. Now they are paying the price.
That’s the market
He didn’t show up like he was supposed to. Plays too soft and stays on the perimeter taking tough shots. No post game or finishing at the rim.

What's the difference between porter and Klay? They are the same player
@@rootofalleviimagine having two Klay Thompsons then
It would for sure help, but I'd say they need more of a 3 and D combo and Klay is getting too old to play both ends elite.

@@gnomechomsky2524you don't need 2 of the same player making close to 30 mil a year especially when each is lacking on D this day and age. Denver tryin to save money, they not tryin to overpay
Their front office gave $8.8 million per year to a garbage time player who might as well not even be able to start with tanking franchises - that's a fireable offense for the GM if you're managing a LeBron/Luka/Jokic/Giannis/Steph led team
With a PLAYER OPTION in the fourth year lol. Unforgivable. Dude didn’t even crack the playoff rotation, has gotten worse every year, barely even played in the regular season. Could’ve used that money to re-sign KCP and then some.
Yall must not know the owner Kronke 😂. Trust me as an Arsenal fan Denver will learn the hard way that they are cooked. He doesn’t like spending money. My team hasn’t won a trophy for like 20 years
THIS! He only spends money on his NFL franchise lol
They got a ring. Hes probably satisfied. If jokic wants more rings maybe he can leave to go where an owner is willing to spend, like the ownership group in Dallas
people talk about how well run the franchise is, but honestly if they didn't completely trip over themselves and accidently draft the best player in the world with a 41st pick, they'd be right there with the Hawks and Pistons fighting for ping pong balls
Arsenal have won trophies just not the Prem for 20 years. They have been spending money the past 3 seasons and 100 million on Declan Rice just 12 months ago.. Come on man you’ve got be honest on here lol
What he was Arsenal owner?
Boston spending $900 million on their starting five but franchises are losing money 🤷🏿♂️
❤ Denver is biggest joke right now I'm loving it 😂
When Tatum’s max kicks in 2025. Then Boston will get hit hard and will have to remove the current core. They are good for now.
They are good for the coming season but the season after that if they keep everyone they will be paying 200-250m in luxury tax alone
That's why the current ownership group in Boston is selling! They paid everyone and now are getting out to let someone else pay the bill!
Boston will face the same problem Denver is facing now but even worse. Smart move for the current owner to sell the team though because whoever steps in will be screwed.
If I were Joker, I simply would not extend my contract or even request a trade.
I think he's probably too loyal ... but if he wants to win another championship, he'll need to look elsewhere. Denver will still make the playoffs but no way they get past a team like the Thunder from now on.
That's what sucks about small market teams. This Denver team literally lost because of lost depth.
The front office got cheap and believed that guys at the end of the bench that were passengers were ready to grind to help the Nuggets repeat. Denver should have paid more attention to the 2023 Warriors who did the same exact thing and loss.
@@therealdarrell282 excellent point. Being cheap is NEVER the answer.

You can thank LeBron and KD for the new salary cap rules! Owners got sick of them stacking the deck, making super teams to win championships!
So Lebron is a GM? You don’t blame Pat Riley? How about Bob Myers?
Actually its the GSW that lead to this change. They were able to sign all 4 players to long-term contract by using their Bird right. Had KD decided to stay with GS, there was nothing in the old salary cap rule that can stop him from doing it other than paying tax money.
As a fan it’s hard to buy a players jersey because you never know when that player will leave
How about support the name on the front of the jersey.
@@therealdarrell282 great idea buddy
NBA contracts are out of whack. Players like Michael Porter being a max contract is the problem. He probly would have gotten on the open market tho, so owners need to come up with a rule to stop them from being dumb

Owners and GM choose to pay those guys, so its up to them to be smart about it.

You could see their bench was not as good as last years approaching the playoffs. I figured it would bite them in the ass and it did. To me Reggie Jackson was never a good idea and the young player Braun is limited in what he can do. But at least he gave them something in a few games. Unless they improve their bench I don’t see them winning again.
Jokic playing 79 regular season games, Murray being hurt, less depth, and the refs allowing a much more physical game while playing the wolves were all factors. The wolves being a more defensive/athletic team benefit from the physicality allowed in that series. Refs are way to soft in the regular season and then in the post season it changes series. Definitely makes it feel like there is an agenda out there.
The idea that Braun would take over for Bruce Brown never made any sense. If you actually watched Bruce Brown for any length of time on various teams you know how good and unique he is.
@@rlh12345it's not about the refs. It's about the ownership. Cannot have cheap skates running a sports team.
@@eddievangundy4510 Bruce is just more dependable in the playoffs -- he was even good on the Nets. Braun is good but no one fears his offense. If the owners don’t wanna compete then sell the team! It’s simple! 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ we need to go for it! Go get somebody!!
Nuggets get worse every off-season after the ring
they weren't really worse this season. Murray just underperformed greatly in the post season. If he was good Denver would have gone through Minnesota and Dallas for sure and I would take them over the Celtics too. Murray was just nod bad, he was horrible and was actively taking away from the team. If he played like in 2023 Denver repeats easily
I knew Reggie was on his way out. He did nothing these playoffs.
I hated him with the Clippers. Can’t defend and doesn’t do anything special. He always getting his eyes shot out. He’s slow rotating to the ball and always in the paint instead of guarding his man.
The only tradeable piece they have that can actually get true compensation is murray(jokic obviously).. no one is overpaying or over trading to get mpj or gordon.
mpj might do well with more responsibility
Murray, who has missed 47 percent of Denver’s regular-season games over the past four seasons, is also living proof that Jokic is indeed the most valuable player in the league.
just wait for Steph to ask out
MPJ and Gordon are both highly valuable pieces. The Nuggets wouldn’t trade them anytime soon
@@jonathang8996Neither one of those players are superstars. They are pieces to the puzzle if the team is put together well. Denver is cooked.
When your team is worth 2-4 billion and 3guys are making 500-600 million dollars as an owner it’s a little crazy. But you got to pay guys who bounce balls in a court 400mill
It's not as profitable as people think. It's a hobby for rich people and they have been making good money on the increase in franchise value
It's impossible to keep winning teams together now the nba new rules are horrible
Again we are talking about the Denver nuggets and KCP this is not the clippers with 3 all stars. Every player the nuggets lost was essential yes but nevertheless a role player . They could have kept them
Yup it’s nearly impossible to keep championship teams together without incurring huge losses especially if the team then doesn’t win
nuggets are small market thats the problem
True, it's gone too far with the new CBA. The organizations can't keep a team together anymore. We all don't like unfair superteams but we do like to see great teams win more than one championship.
@@Mericaa47 The owners put the rules in place to keep Golden State from winning by getting Kd for example
It’s an easy fix, TRADE MPJ for 2 or 3 SOLID role players ! I always told folks, that MPJ contract was a HUGE mistake! Yes they won a championship BUT his OVERPAY was always gonna come back to bite them in the butt! With the new 2nd apron, it only makes it MUCH WORSE!
Bruce Brown had to play his minutes in the finals because his shot was off. He doesn't do a lot when his shot is off.
I'd trade MPJ for Bruce Brown and a backup big today
Booth's real goal is to just up the stakes each year to make Jokic's MVP case more compelling
Fans don’t care about free agency or trades. They care about winning championships
Bro not every team is in a big market like the lakers and knicks. A lot of players prefer those teams as well over some city like Denver

Sports teams aren't that profitable to operate- that's why the Celts ownership is looking to sell on the title win.

It's not about operating profit, it's about you selling the team for a huge profit. Asset appreciation.
If you are in it to make an annual profit you need to sell the team and get out. Get the heck out.
Nuggets topic let's gooo! That GM/ownership group is being cheap and wasting Jokić prime. They are lucky Jokić doesn't have the American tendency for demanding a trade. He should want out. @@gabriel-uc1uz u realize Paul george decided NOT to go there right? So whats your point?
Klay,
I am kind of with Rob on this one on. Some teams may just be satisfied with getting that title and not going to exhaust their resources to win. Like a GS, Lakers, Boston. With Denver not being a major market, and not many teams even get a chance to go.
Chris is the same guy who said Bron (at the age of 39 in year 22) has enough to compete for a title with the current Laker roster. , Now he is currently throwing a poo poo parade for Denver. last time I checked Denver still has Jokic Murray and Gordon... Go get it done. Ain't that what Chris told Bron to do 😂
Brou admitted on FTF Bron is probably not going to win another title. Murray is injury prone and Denver’s bench is getting weaker while OKC, MIN, and DAL are getting better.

Nuggets know jokic is never gonna ask out that’s why cause historically the foreign superstar players never ask out go look at Hakeem he never asked out neither did Dirk and Giannis isn’t gonna ask out because in the minds of these foreign players they’re very grateful an NBA franchise thinks that highly of them
Knicks fan here since 1989...i feel what Rob said 😢
Your 100% right we may NEVER have another chance like this again here in Denver. Calvin and the front office HAS to do whatever it takes right now to get better.
Jokic to Mavs in 2 years
Let's see, the player salaries have skyrocketed. The max and super-max is going off the charts. Owners are seeing the endgame. Think of the ones who've outright sold or sold off their majority stakes, the past 5 years. Milwaukee, Minnesota, Charlotte, Dallas and now Boston. The Celtics have nearly 1 billion dollars in salary commited and the owners have decided to sell. Cuban knew that Doncic is going to command around $400 mil soon. Billionaires are billionaires because they don't squander money, and will get out before they lose. Even deep pocketed Balmer decided not to cough up for PG. It's money friends.
Balmer knows statistics. PG is highly likely to get injured. If not Balmer would have paid. He’s in a league of his own.
Lets be honest, new appron situation killed the most Nuggets, if they know appron was coming they wouldnt give Porter that deal. thats the problem with all that cap situation. no one know its coming then when it did. it hit hard . You cant win in this league with 2 superstars and 4,5 medicrity players on 10m deals.
The problem with your argument is that every team has two superstars and a bunch of role players. That’s the way the new CBA works. So the nuggets have as good of a chance to win as anyone.
With that new rule we'll probably never have a dynasty again

it's hard to take anything that Chris says seriously now because of how compromised he is
Calvin Booth sucks yo he wants keep draft picks instead of getting PG.
For years I killed the media for killing Lebron's front offices and bringing up all-in and trades. Last year Denver brought back 7 of its top 9 rotation players and got bounced by a 22 year old. This year they are bringing back 5 of their top 6 including their core 4 which has been intact for a few years. The front office keeping tht core 4 together is going all-in. Everyone keeps sayig they have the best player in the world right? No excuses. He needs to be held to the same standard as every other guy who they gave that crown too. 3 MVP's in 4 years and we are sitting here talking about KCP, Reggie, Bruce and Uncle Jeff.
And another thing is the guys were paying max money too ain't performing up to par either. So last season guys like MPJ and Murray didn't earn their money last year.
Rob comes back the numbers go up
Rob has been one of the very best talking heads in media for many years. But he's more traditional in his approach and is not into buttering up the superstars.
Klay on Denver would put them back in the Finals.
Jokic would feed klay with assists lika a babushka feeds her grandchildren.
Klay is washed up he won’t even get Dallas back to the finals
So Denver management is satisfied with one ring and content to waste Jokic prime, rather than spending more money for key roleplayers. This proves this franchise never cared about winning.
Teams dont lose money, the things that get excluded from basketball revenue make millions. Real estate value, concessions, tax shelters , and other things make hundreds of millions. Why do you think the vakue of teams are so high?
They keep downgrading after winning the chip
Unfortunately we live in a money world and Denver just can't afford the contracts of brown or pope anymore unless joker and Murray take pay cuts
Can't afford or won't afford?
They definitely can they just don't want to pay any luxury tax
Jokic needs to bounce after this contract ends, they need to go all in with that core

You can definitely tell Tim Connely isnt the PoBo in Denver anymore lol.
NBA teams are a bad investment. They’re status symbols and you’re hoping to break even. $100m after taxes but accounting magic is likely $65m. $65m a year on a $2b investment then $300m per year in business expenses is a super bad investment. Realistically $2b down and $300m a year invested should net a cool $300m
Most of the time when players switch teams they get kind of loss. Dame def needed to leave the blazers but he had a weird year.
A healthy Murray and Jokic with MPJ playing to his capabilities and Aaron Gordon doing his thing is absolutely enough. The problem is Murray wasn’t healthy and MPJ underachieved in the playoffs.

Denver lost Bruce Brown and jeff Green -- made ZERO effort to replace them with DEPENDABLE vets. Could have signed somebody in the off season or made a trade at the trade deadline: the Knicks did it; Pacers did it; the Mavs did it -- and made it to the finals. GM (and owner) got lazy, stupid and cheap -- and the weak bench cost them a chance to repeat.
Nuggets might not have beat a deep Boston team but they would have been a MUCH tougher matchup as Boston lost 2 games to Denver and they have no one to slow Jokic.
Now Denver has a TERRIBLE bench, lost KCP, and Michael Porter Jr. is VASTLY overpaid for what he contributes to winning games. Denver's window is shut despite having Nikola.

Denver has made no real moves. You have the best player in the nba and now the owner doesn't want to spend anything. Sad. You need to try and win now.
Why would Jokic play year in and year out, knowing that ownership will not pay for the players needed to win. Why would the best player in the world put up with that? He probably has his choice of teams, like just about every single team, or he can just go home. Right now Booth is in Europe. Is he trying to fix ownership damage?😎

Funny how Klay would be amazing fit on x number of contending teams, but since he picked Dallas, he's washed.
Easy fix if you ask me. Stop paying the top guys 50-60 million a year. Jokic will be making $51‐$63 million by 2028. Jamal is making $36. He's going to get $50 in yr '25/'26. MPJ is making $36‐$41 the next 3 seasons. Gordons contact is only $24 million. 4 guys @ $150‐$160 a season? They have $20 million to spend now
And how are you going to stop these guys from leaving to elsewhere for more money? Jokic might like the city, but hes aint taking a 10-15mil pay cut each year, same for Murray and MPJ. The issue has been the max contract that allowed by the CBA is too much of a portion of the salary cap. You can only have 2 max contract player on the team and thats it, adding a 3rd max or near max player would cripple the team to build the supporting cast.
@@tigera6 I named 4 guys making 80% of salary cap. You now have to fill out the next 11 players at $20 million. Unless you go over the cap. Stop paying the top guys so much.
@@davidhutson2846 Yeah, but that means you have to let them go or trade them early, dont expect them to take a pay cut just because you tell them so. Thats the whole point of the new cap rule, they make it impossible to stack talents on one team.
@@tigera6 why do u keep saying pay cut? Why is the % so high for the top player? It should have never been that high to begin with. Tatum will make $71 million in his final season. That doesn't make sense
@@davidhutson2846 players will try to make as much money as they can, its the job of the CBA to set the % of the cap allowed.
Maybe Denver can bring in Porzings hes a defensive juggernaut when healthy.
