Holy shit this comment section is full of deaf fucking people. He's complaining that he bought a truck and then GM added upgrades to it a bit later and called it a 2015 1/2 for a fraction of the money it would cost to have to add the upgrades he did to make it the same. He feels like his truck lost a fuck load of value because of it. I would be upset too. Enjoy your truck tho, I have a similar truck and love it !

I found another pile of things wrong with this truck, it does not come with a big cinema screen, does not have a 3 seater leather lounge suite, a bar fridge, pool table, nice bed to sleep in, wheels don't stick out enough, not high enough, tow hook too small, wrong colour, no bull bar, too slow, maybe I should have bought a house instead.

I have a 2017 3500 Midnight Edition Duramax. I love it, but theres a lot of features missing for the price to be justified. I don't need any features whatsoever but for the price they should be there.

The people in the comments are funny talking trash on the things you don't like but probably never have and never will understand what it cost you to get that truck and to not be able to have the things you wanted on it but such a short time later it's all of a sudden an option. You spend that kind of money on a truck you would expect certain things I get it! But sadly that is the risk on getting the newest version of something it takes time for them to realize where they went wrong. Bad ass truck man I'm super jealous!

the $700+ / month payments keep me away.if less people bought them it would drive the prices down.this country is at an all time high for vehicle repossessions. no reason a duramax should be $50,000+
slm2500 I agree with you, but honestly now a days you pay for all the safety stuff, and computers since cars are going all electronic. Be it ECM, TCM, transfer case, axles, cameras, sensors and all. Yeah the diesel is an 8k or more option, but you pay a ton of money for electronics.

It doesn't make sense for you to say you don't think you got what you paid for because your truck doesn't have wifi. Did you pay extra for that feature? Did the salesman tell you it was included in your particular truck? If not,then you got exactly what you paid for. 2014 owners could say they feel like they should have gotten the 2015 body change too but that would be just as ridiculous.

Its 2019 and I bought a Black 2014 F 150 and I love everything about it. Why? Because thats the LAST year of the model, so i have no worries about any changes or anyone with upgrades that I will miss out on. I also saved over $30,000 and it should last many many years.
I don't understand big lifts with dual reservoir shocks, on a torsion bar truck. Meant for the road, no different than a car with a lift to fit 24s. Good looking truck though.

In construction, our trucks are pretty much our offices. So to be able to connect my laptop to the internet on site would be a nice feature.
we could all go back and forth all day long on which truck is the best. they all got good points and bad. if you start with dodge they wouldn't be shit without Cummins, with Ford who wants to spend a lot of money with a mechanic removing the cab to work on the motor and GM should offer a solid axle for the front ends.
Has a truck doesn't use the bed to load up boxes. Even if they were light weight. Plenty of thing you can/could do to prevent them from moving all around the bed or blowing out.
This guys rants are the typical response you hear/read about. "I paid $XX,XXX amount for a fully loaded truck & it doesn't come with/should of came with...". It's a truck. Not a luxury car/crossover.

duramax he straight piped it and got rid of the muffler and converters and it sounds like a beast he will do 90 down the freeway with a snowmobile trailer full of four wheelers

No worries. I got the wifi system and i surpassed 10 gigs in less then 12 hours. It can't handle UA-cam videos and the excuse I'm given is.."they're high def videos" super supper expensive where it's much cheaper to just teather your phone to the laptop. As for the led lights in the mirrors you just have to hit the switch and when you place it in reverse the lights will come on. Just not in drive it won't come on. What I hate is that I have the midnight edition and I wanted the centre consol but couldn't have it cuz I have leather seats. I can only get a centre consol if I got cloth seats. However the Denali has both. Shame on you Chevy. We are the loyal one. I have as mentioned a 2500 duramax midnight edition and it came with roof lights. If your ordering it just say you got the midnight edition 2016 and you can get the roof lights ordered for your truck, same setup. Hope that helps and great video
I’ve got my eye on a 2015 1/2 Denali 2500hd with all the bells and whistles. 6” lift black on black. The only issue is it has 157,XXX on the odometer. Am I wasting my time? If not what should I look for that possibility could go bad? That’s almost 40k a year on mileage.You got me on lifted trucks now.
Naw u are good gm trucks last a long time i have a uncle has a 06 serria with almost 300k miles on it and it runs like new
I guess the main thing to remember is if you aren't satisfied with what you are getting, don't buy it. Wait and look elsewhere. Never buy something that checks most but not all of your boxes(if its in your budget at least).
I don't know what I would've done without the footage of you driving to, and going in to the convenience store to buy the gum. Especially liked that you set up the camera to get that 2 second shot at 1:15, so you could convey what it's like to be walking through the convenience store to buy the gum.

There is something that I learned when I bought my first new GM vehicle in the late 1970's and that is do NOT buy a GM vehicle in its first model year. There have always been bugs that surfaced that would be addressed in suceeding model years. My 1978 Cutlass Supreme had a 305 V8 that was a real dog which was later replaced with the 307 V8 was (as I understand) was aan all round improvement. GM also introduced improvements in rust prevention in critical areas of the sheet metal.

The real reason you should regret buying that truck is because it's a Chevy. Chevy is the only truck brand to cut out SQUARE fenderwells for a ROUND tire. So when you lift a Chevy like yours you get 3 feet of clearance straight above the tire and still come within 3 inches of the tire hitting the bottom of the fenderwell. Looks goofy as HELL!!!
Never buy the first year of anything. Trucks , electronics whatever it will always bite you in the ass.

What I like about Bowtie Diesel drivers is they are very appreciative when they have maintenance done at our shop. For example they love us to death for cutting them breaks on labor like when we give them 8 new spark plugs at cost and install free of labor .

This is why i wait a year when a manufacturer releases a new body style, because the first production models usually have issues and they make mid model year changes.
What's the difference between ur Duramax an others iv seen for instance ur center console goes all the way up to the dash an ur front bumper doesn't have that extended lip which I personally don't like the extended front lip on it

Why would you go 2500 instead of 3500? Where I live 2500 gets hit with luxury tax when truck goes over $50,000. 3500 is luxury tax exempt. I still haven't figured out if the 2017 Sierra and Siverado HD have halogen headlights still? I'm liking the Super Duty daytime LED look. The Titan XD Warrior comes out I may just go with that.

I had to work on a few chevy trucks. From 2006 on. The early to half is a pain to work on at times. The revisions make can make it a pain to work. Is why I love my fords. Simple and tough trucks.

Love the vid (watching this late because I’m looking to get a 2015 sometime) but you can’t complain about not having a front camera for lifted trucks. They don’t make trucks to have a 8inch lift.
not tryin to sound like a hater but ...... you didnt ask specifically if your truck had wifi in it before you dropped the 70k for it. Even with the 2015 - 1/2 trucks wifi i believe is still an option only available in trucks with the certain level "convenience package" which means you could still get a 2016 with out wifi if you dont ask for it specifically. I personally have no use for a hot spot in my truck even with the option and with the cost of just making your current phone into a hot spot for your other devices the truck wifi is more costly. So why dont you just go get a hot spot via your smart phone service provider its cheaper any how and always on you.
options on trucks are always optional despite the level of truck your buying. I personally have an LT while my buddy got the LTZ my truck has the built in trailer brakes his doesn't. He was pissed when he found out it was an option any truck could have and his LTZ didnt have it even though he paid like 20k more than i did. So as a lesson to all future truck buyers make sure you specifically ask what options are available and equipped in each truck you look at BEFORE signing.

you forgot abouth the electric assisted steering box added in 15.5 and up....I also have a 2015 2500HD duramax and wish I had the new steering, it is so smooth in slow parking lot areas

Have you ever accidentally looked directly into those LED mirror lights? Those suckers burn. Maybe Chevy didn't make them part of the reverse lights cause they can be hazardous to other motorists who may not be in your path of reversing? Who knows.
They are right at eye level for me now, so I get hit with them every time I'm walking up to my truck and unlock it at night.

Why did you buy a 12 inch lift instead of a more moderate 6 inch lift?
Had an 8" lift on my last truck and it was alright, but always felt like I wanted it a bit taller.

After the fact I don't think it's an issue. You just can't order it that way from the factory. I doubt cops are really on the lookout for it. It just makes me nervous cutting holes in the roof after the fact.

Hey, I know this video is nothing about construction however I’m 17 and I am about to go into my senior year of highschool and I have always wanted to pursue the field of computer Science however as I get older I find it that I prefer manual labor over sitting around all day. I’ve been considering getting into construction because I have always loved building things and putting things together. Do you have any tips you could give me?
I would like to say if you choose the trades feel good about it and don't worry about collage , now a days schools and pier pressure is heavy about going to collage , this country needs tradesmen , i suggest to try different fields to see what you passion is plumbing carpentry demolition concrete finishing asphalt paving or masonry keep in mind this , what ever trade you choose , you take that skill set any where in the united states , work hard , try to learn from skilled people , listen to old people they can teach you a lot , keep your mouth closed watch listen learn and be honest at all costs and have respect this will take you a long way , and lastly find a good mentor and keep Christ in your heart, best wishes on your adventures .

I ordered the truck. That being said, I could have turned it down upon delivery but I had already waited 3 months for a dealer to find me one, then when they couldn't, another 3 months to have the truck built. Unfortunately my patience had run out. So I'm partially to blame.

I actually don't like the tow mirrors, on mine people were baffled at the dealership that I was more concerned with wifi and smaller mirrors. I got the LTZ Z71 with wifi (2016 just before the new 2017's hit the lot), my kids and wife love that wifi.
I don't tow anything that often, I more like diesel for the power and mileage. People flip out that I didn't buy a gas, but I like diesel.
The only thing that makes me annoyed with the truck is the weird wheel well design, I want to do an Icon leveling kit (swing arms and such) or the Pure Performance lift (supposedly gives the same ride as my raptor had) with 35" tires which means I need to cut fenders or get some other fender.

I also have a 2015 ltz got pissed when the new 16 come with standard sprayed in bed liner for my 15 I had to buy the cheap plastic liner from chevy that lets water sit in the corner for a nice rust in the long run and color match ext fuck

This is the first video of this guy and I’m not sure I get what this is all about. It’s a truck. Just in case no one understands this I will explain. Vehicles are not a good investment . They depreciate every single day. If you put all of that money into it it’s a lose. in 10-15 years it will be done, just another junker out there worth nothing at all. Good looking truck though, just not for me.

I feel ya dude my 15 was a pain in the ass to get my delete shit sorted out due to the goofy down pipe that they fixed in 15.5. I ended up doing a cognito 7-9 and no matter what we tried we can not get rid of the stabilatrack light either. I think we're going ford the end of the year.
how can you know you're looking at a 2015.5? being if I'm looking up on car gurus. any tips?
It's tough without seeing it in person as it could be a 2015.5 without some options. If it has 4g wifi then it is a 15.5+. That would probably be the easiest way to know from an online ad. Also, unless they added the new tow mirrors, if it has them, theres a good chance its newer. They should have the vin posted online, that will give you a definitive of when the truck was built.

Are you still running the stock gear ratio, or have you re-geared the truck for the larger tires? I've always wondered how many people actually re-gear their trucks after going with such large tires. Seems like your transmission and engine would thank you for it, and also it would be good for regaining your low end torque and city mpg.

I was told that what I'd gain in low end wasn't worth what I'd lose on the top end. Didn't seem worth it to me. The truck has plenty of power and getup and go.
Gotcha. I don't think it's quite as important with diesel's as it is with gas engine trucks since you have so much more power and torque with a diesel, that you don't notice as much of a loss. When you go with larger tires, you're basically raising the gearing of your truck. By finding the right size gear ratio to go with the size of tire you put on, you would essentially be back to what it would be like from the factory. The advantages would be better low end power, easier on the drivetrain long term wise, and your speedometer/odometer would read correctly unless you've already adjusted it with a tuner. It's not necessary, but definitely has its advantages!
