I had a Dodge van with posi rear end and 300 +horsepower with crazy torque I used Edelbrock intake 0 RPM to 5000 RPM it was a 318 I also have GMC 1500 Sierra with reading tool tool bins built onto the back that is made for commercial use. 6:17 The difference between summer and good winter tires is that in snow like this with an old RWD Volvo with Blizzaks or Michelin X-Ice this kind of situation is not a problem. But big trucks w/ summer tires are getting stuck.
You should get some top line winter tires such as Blizzaks or Michelin X-Ice or Hakkapeliita 9's on the truck and be absolute king in winter conditions.

As testiment my 98 Chevy k1500 on bald 33s ran all winter through bumper deep snow no problem by putting 1000 lbs in the bed. Great video! It’s for people’s safety,I lived in wrightwood California where it was 7,000ft above sea level, and also in the Rockies of Colorado,in areas like that it is easy to get stuck as you can see. It isn’t fair to all the people that live in these communities for snow players to come up to these areas with their front wheel drive cars and get stuck or start sliding down hill causing multi car crashes blocking the road for locals and backing traffic up when it already takes hours to get home because all the valley people in Cali want to come play in the snow, also typically in these communities there are only less then a handful of ways up n down,it sucks but makes complete sense expecially with the idiots on the road that lack good judgment.

Sometimes MTs won't do Jack shit in snow. Also the wider the tire, the worse it is for snow. Depends on a lot of factors. Also when recovering a vehicle from the ditch, depending on how badly the vehicle is bagged you might need to yank them out. Momentum IS KEY

The straps you're using are designed to be yanked, drive forward until tight, then backup about 6 to 8 feet then drive forward at about 2000rpm and watch the magic happen. This works every time, I've pulled out RV's with a little Jeep Cherokee like this.
