- A short demo of how i implemented and resotred horizontal ATB on tabbed left configuration of menus in FFVI old ver.
Please bear in mind that horizontal atb is not present in the game rather the game uses vertical indicators for it

My problem with the left tab setting is I don't like having to select an icon to switch characters. In the default it's much easier to just use the directional pad to move between character command windows. If this version of the game had a switch character button dedicated to just that (like the old SNES and GBA versions) it would make it much easier to navigate menus. The "Sane UI" mod does a great job of cleaning up the UI, though. I hated how even after installing Atma Weapon the spell/ability menus take up the whole screen but definitely glad to see that issue finally fixed. This is the best version of FF6 as long as you have the right mods installed.
I always liked the default rising boxes UI a lot more as well. But yes, SaneUI makes it even better and yes this is the best version of the game.
Best version of the game if seen they really need to just up the graphics and id buy it.
Does the horizontal ATB gauge exist as a standalone mod? I actually like how this version of the game looks normally (well, for the most part) but I would rather like a more traditional-looking ATB gauge, if it's possible to have it without completely changing how everything else looks as well.
SaneUi is a lot closer to the vanilla look of the game. its started off as a removal of many of the mobile visual cues of the base UI. it does not come stand alone though as the base game UI really is a bit of a pain to edit.
