    The fact Derinkuyu also has toilets in that maze system is just so cool. If it is indeed 10,000 years old and they had the technical know-how to build a sewage system... it's bonkers.

      Plenty of other ancient sites also had sophisticated infrastructure. Like Petra's water reticulation system, that still works today: just no water/rainfall there, now. Also, a site that hasn't been definitively dated.

    You're very brave facing your claustrophobia down inside those deep, dark caves. My hat's off to you. I can only imagine how difficult it was for you. I like these ancient sites.

    I think this was a fallout shelter that was built in response to the first part of the younger dryas, 12,900 years ago. And i also think the people who emerged from this are the ones who carved the figures into the T pillars. I think the T pillars themselves predate the younger dryas.

    • @DillDough-dn4eb
      @DillDough-dn4eb 2 місяці тому +6

      As such. T pillars are already built...cataclysm occurs 12,900 years ago. Survivors build this fallout shelter in response. 2nd cataclysm occurs 11,600 years ago. Those survivors and their ancestors have now lost functional knowledge of construction and it is they who carved the figures

      Personally I think the survivors of the younger dryas are the people who buried Gobekli Tepe. It would explain why there are so many creation myths of first or new man being made out of mud/dirt/clay.

    Funny you should mention claustrophobia/panic attack... I've struggled with it for the last 10 years after something traumatic happened to me... The only thing that makes meaning to my life anymore is to travel the world and see all these ancient places you film... but I haven't been able to...because of my severe claustrophobia... I'm so scared of just being claustrophobic on the plane... let alone deep inside some ancient city in the mountain or inside one of the many pyramids.... but I guess because of people like you filming all of these amazing places my motivation is getting bigger for overcoming my fear... I really feel your experience of being claustrophobic!❤ Thanks for sharing!❤

    This was 1000% a fallout shelter and survival location for humans during the younger dryas event and the 1000 years of radiation that followed. That's why they have the special doors. Ancient cataclysmic fallout shelter.

    My belief is Derinkuyu is not only far older than mainstream dictates, but also that it was built over a number of cycles: not in one era of time.
    As a believer in Earth's cataclysmic cycle, every ~12 000 years, these underground sites were built for post apocalyptic habitation.
    One thing I was looking for, but could not see, was carbon on the ceilings. Not saying it wasn't there; just did not see any. How did the builders illuminate the work spaces. You saw how dark it could get, just metres away from a light source.

    When watching you explore Derinkuyu, I was wondering where are the tailings for all that underground digging? That's an incredible amount of material to remove. Where did it go? When was the last time people lived there? If there were Hittite bones, did they just discover something that was already there? I don't think it's a coincidence that the oldest places of civilized occupation seem to center around the Mesopotamian Fertile Crescent, which is just south west of Mt. Ararat. When Noah and his family came down from the ark, that's where they went.
    I also find it interesting that the majority of these ancient sites are heavily based on stone and/or digging in the earth. Was there a huge shortage of building materials for surface construction?
    Great video! Thank you for showing us these fascinating places!

    Amazing how similar the 10,ooo yr old structures are to the Indian tribes ancient homes in the American south west.. Cant remember the tribe but, the latter entry system is spot on! The underground cave city reminds me of that Hindu story where krishna held up the mountian and his whole town hid under it while the "storm gods" where destroying the surface with floods and what not.. I think its related. ❤

    To construct this site took a King so concerned about a rising danger he ordered a doomsday bunker building. This should give us hope. They had time. At least some. I for one believe it to be because they saw the sun changing colour due to the nova event at the end of the last ice age. A bad omen. A sign the world as they knew it was about to end.
