As a Turk who has been living in London for 3 years, I can say that the video explained the pros and cons of Turkey almost perfectly. It could even be said you were merciful about dislikes. Although the Turks are polite and respectful to tourists, they don't treat their citizens in the same way. Pollution can be seen in the same frame. While people keep their homes perfectly clean (maybe the best in the world), they leave the streets and nature littered with rubbish. It's nothing but selfishness and disrespect for others.

Hi Mick and Trudie, thanks for this video, I like it a lot. As an English language teacher, I suggested my students watch it and write a comment. I'm sure, they will enjoy watching this video.
Hi teacher, Mick and Trudie. 😊 I watched this video and agree with the things that you likes and dislikes. Additionally, I want to mention something I dislike. Firstly, I hate smoking, especially at bus stops and on the pavement. Secondly, although Turkish people usually use public transportation, their behavior is so disrespectful in queues. Thirdly, I agree with you about music. When I enter a shop and the music is too loud, I leave without buying anything. Speaking of my loved ones, I love street cats. In my view, they all represent our country. Despite some negativity in what I say, I love my country. Consequently, I wish a humane and quality life for all people.

Hello teacher, Mick and Trudie. I also watch the video and I love it so much. Thank you for taking it. With this video, I again remember and proud of my country because of its beauties and advantages. Furthermore, I totally agree with your dislikes. We are really suffered from smoking, music and the economic problems. However, I love my country. In addition, I went to Muğla last year, and I loved it. It was a great experience and I think it is one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey. Enjoy your life in Fethiye and stay well. ☺️🌷
Mick Amca! Huge thanks for correct notices on Turkish pros and cons, especially critique of smoking habits! Agree completely. Regards from Roman and Sofiya, Fethiye/İstanbul.
I live in a small village across the river from Dalyan where my wife and I built a village style house years go. Recently they added ferry service across the river from Dalyan which has increased traffic flow through the village. A small harbor in the village now attracts outsiders/tourists that cross the river to have 'Instagram" moments at this idyllic spot. Every morning I walk from the house on the road that leads to the harbor and the volume of rubbish has increased substantially. I can identify the rubbish as being that of these visitors from the fact it consists of water bottles/beer bottles/cans, snack wrappers and plastic bags from the market. It is not household rubbish containing coffee grounds/egg shells and the like. It is obvious that it the exact trash created while in a car on vacation. This makes me insanely angry when one considers the incredible beauty of this little paradise. Only subhumans could dump all this rubbish here and drive away and leave all over the ground. I do beleive if I ever witness one of these pigs in the act of this behavior i will completely lose it and smash out their headlights/talilights and windows. It is such incredible ignorant behavior. Every day I take plastic bags on my walk and fill several. Things seemed to get better for a while but now the same old swine behavior is back. Other than that I love this country and it's people.
I think Turkey's problem is education. If they could improve the level of education a little more, Türkiye would be a much different place. I've been there many times. People are very nice, very helpful, very friendly. The agenda in Turkey is changing incredibly fast. It is really a very active country. They are a very emotional nation. They are very energetic (or maybe it just seemed that way to me because I am an extremely calm person 😊). They are very proud of their history. They love their country very much. The city I was in was one of the most developed cities in Turkey. Kocaeli. Many of the problems described here did not exist. But as you go down to the south of Turkey, you start to experience what is described. Türkiye is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. For now, my dream is to move to Turkey when I retire. Let's see what time will tell 🙂
Thank you from me who is living in San Diego/ California. I am turk and my hometown is Antalya. I waited to see some parts of Antalya too. But you right, there are many place for talk about Turkiye. Thank you again for this amazing video🙏🏻
I lived in UK for 13 years, back home now 16 years and totally agree with everything you said. I still love the country very much though and planning to spend my remaining life in here. Thanks for the video and your honest comments.
I wholeheartedly agree with your observations, however the weather, beautiful scenery, and superb cuisine at very good value, will always have me returning there as my favourite holiday destination.
as a Turk, I can say that your thoughts are genuinely objective and true. so I'm on the same page. almost every countries comes with it's cons and pros.
Some tips; 1- Be careful with taxis, use the "bitaksi" application. 2- Use long buses, small minibuses are not good in big cities. 3- If you enter a shop for the first time, be sure of the price when purchasing a product. 4- If you encounter a bad incident, take audio and video recordings. Just call the police and they will definitely help you if you are right. 5- There are bad people in every country. But good people are in the vast majority in Turkey. Turks like to help. For this reason, if you ask someone for help, they will definitely do it. And you can tell “I’m Tourist” Tourist is important for Turkish People, we are tourism country, you should tell it if you need.
It's TRUE, I told the people at a bus station I was from Canada and spoke no Turkish and they all helped me. Sat me down next to the Chai stand and let me know when my bus came. An elderly taxi driver in Bolu was so amazed I was there he kissed both my cheeks and hugged me. People were so helpful and loving. However, I also recall the few cheaters, and they were in the small minority. Not enough to change my mind against Turkish people.
Spot on. I've lived in Istanbul for 26 years. I'm amazed at how little crime there is when compared with so many other countries - not speaking of anything large and organised of course, but just at a daily level. The worst here if you're a driver is the horrendous traffic and the excellent, cheap and very frequent public transport is completely packed, Japanese style at rush hours. The image of Turkey amongst so many is a travesty and I for one, work with many Armenians here. That's not supposed by many to be possible! But I've never evidenced any fuss at all. People are far more tolerant and respectful of others than in many places I know.
From my point of view and as a Turk, i believe that our major problem is that we are disrespectful towards our own citizens, even to ourselves. This disrespectful behaviors cause people unfollowing the traffic rules, increasing pollution and so much more. People in here have to learn to respect at first towards themselves, then to the others.
I visited Turkey five times, I love that country. Definitely, you make the most informative videos about Turkey. Thank you for being objective in this video.
Turkiey is amazing. I love the people and everything there is just amazing genuine and generous. Since 1998 I simple adore this country. Congratulations for one more beautiful and amazing video. God bless your both. Love and lots of funny stuff ou there for you. ❤
As a Turkish guy ı really appreciate your videos and point of view about Turkey .You are really someone from us and present our country so objectively.Thank you very much for your efforts
Living in a small village, in Ortaca, the only loud music we get is from weddings. We often go to the beaches, in Sarigerme, and Dalaman, and they are clean, and no music. Also they're cheap, compared to other resorts, possibly because they're run by the council, (Belediye). One place I would reccomend visiting, is the kukurt near Dalaman airport. It's beautiful, clear waters, and mud that makes your skin smooth. It has disabled access to the cafe, and toilets, and costs 10tl 30p, entrance. In the main I agree with your comments, although in our area, I've never heard about anyone being attacked by dogs, and nobody smokes inside restaurants, they sit outdoors if they want a cigarette.
I'm Türk and living in Ireland, also travelling to many parts of the UK regularly. We are like exchange students with you guys. :) In every day, I miss the weather of Türkiye under gray sky. There is no perfect place. Every country comes with its pros/cons but, I think everyone should experience the another geography. I wasn't aware how much we are lucky when I was in Türkiye. Now, feeling grateful more than ever when I visit. I literally agree with all the likes/dislikes you've listed here. Well done for such a nice explanation.
I am Turkish and I am awed by your honesty. You did mention q lot of the upsides😊. On the otger hand, you are right about the negatives, I am afraid....I don't smoke and hate having to stay at home and not be able to go out at all because of the smoking. And the amount of 'noise' which sometimes cannot even resemblle music does pollute places where you would like to hear just the sound of wind and waves. The pollution, and ciggarette buts definitely a problem. And the dog packs... I hope we can find a 'humane' solution...because stray animals are part of our community.
Beautiful country! I hope they will protect the beautyful villages, like Dalyan, from becoming to look like Içmeler or Marmaris. I've seen it changed over the past years, and not always for the best. Had magnificent holidays over there and went home crying😢 Enjoyed the people with their smiles and jokes, the Turkish music, the food, the relaxed atmosphere in the evenings and so on.... 😍❤
Thank you Mike and Trudie. I would agree with you on all your likes and dislikes. I visited Turkey many times in the 80s and early 90s. Now I am unable to travel I and am armchair traveller! Your wildlife videos are a delight Thank you so much
I am a Turk living in Brussels, I completely agree what you said. Need to take action about the rubbishes, smoking problem, and they need to stop driving cars like monsters asap. Thank you for presenting Turkey such a good way, take care. We love you🙏
I first visited Turkey 14 years ago (Antalya) and fell completely in love with the country; the people, the food, the ancient history, the scenery. My last holiday was visiting Istanbul, 2 years ago now and I was blown away by it. The Hagia Sofia had been on my bucket list since I was a child and it's my favourite building. When I returned, I bought a book about the founding of ancient Byzantium/Constantinople/Istanbul. The city has had so much turmoil. If the walls of the Hagia Sofia could talk, what a tale they would tell ! I've loved watching your videos and think they're very considered and unbiased and a really good guide for someone who has never been to Turkey. Like yourselves, we hated so much smoking and littering. Egypt was the same which spoiled our forays into the countryside. So much beauty spoiled by stinking piles of litter.
Unfortunately, I left my country because I couldn't find a job. I'm currently in a European country and I like this place and Turkey very much. Thank you for the video. You are very sympathetic and good-hearted people. ❤
Güzel çift, güzel insanlar hoşgeldiniz. Ne de iyi yaptınız geldiniz, renk kattınız. Umarım burayı eviniz kabul etmişsinizdir. Türk insanı her zaman kolları açık, sizler gibi her yaşdan misafirleri, türkiyeyi evi gören insanları, vatanınızın haricinde sizi yurt sahibi yaparak sımsıcak bekliyor olacakdır. Kadim Anadolu insanın sarı sıcak sevgisiyle ve sağlıcakla kalın.
Well covered. All the points are absolutely valid. For a new comer though language is a huge barrier especially outside of the main cities or even in cities like Istanbul
What a beautiful little video. The scenery in a lot of your filming is absolutely mesmerising. We have had our holiday home in Türkiye for27 years and just love it. Had to laugh at your section on the high speed train after the last week and the chaos of HS2.
Don't forget the Beliyedesiye cafes, they are so cheap and really sociable places, with areas for all the family together, we love the things provided in the community in Türkiye.
Wow!As a turkish,i can say that this video's almost perfect about Türkiye. You've descbribed Türkiye as its real situation.I think,Türkiye is great because we have a lot of good stuff. For example, the our People, our kitchen cultre...These are incredible! However,we have some issues; For example,Türkiye's smoking percent is too high or This country's education system should be improved more. Also we are pretty dirty country. If you dont consider the these sides,Türkiye may be world's best country to live in!Thanks for the this beatiful video!🇬🇧❤🇹🇷
I'm a Turkish and have been living in America since 2016...almost 8 years and when I come back to Turkey I saw almost same things thank your objective perspective
An Indian with a Turkish heart I absolutely agree with all the pros n cons you mentioned. I love the beautiful weather in Turkiye and the historical places remind me of my childhood visits to the Mughal era monuments in India. We are soon migrating to Turkiye for good and a happy life
i visit turkey alot, one thing i really dislike is the taxis, they refuse to put a meter on unless my husband is with me, they make up prices. we have spend alot of time in istanbul over the last 18 months and im so impressed with how well public transport runs and how cheap so i do try avoid taxi when i can.
Great video and every syllable is true, great country and great people, moderate Islam that doesn't let you believe that we are the unbelievers who will go to hell. It is the humanity and respect for older people that really touches me, even in Istanbul. We bought our independence by selling our humanity. I am in love with Istanbul and its people and will visit it again in January and go to Bursa by bus, thanks to your video. Thanks for sharing.
I've been fortunate enough to have visited Turkey a few times. I agree about the litter. My partner and I did a trip to Girdev plateau (stunning) but, even as far up as it was, the amount of plastic bottles and general waste up there was unreal. Really sad because it was beautiful up there. Hopefully one day I'll go back. I love watching your videos; they are so informative. Thank you❣️
I just returned from a couple weeks in Turkey and I would mention the inflated prices were higher than we thought. The Turkey tax was sure noticeable when travelling solo vs with a guide at restaurants and cafes in. We walked out of multiple restaurants for not posting prices even in menus to discover asking $25usd for a drink. I was lucky enough to know this trick, but imagine many others don't.
Additionally, I have to say that I absolutely love your British Londoner accent; it adds a unique charm to your videos and makes them even more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see more of your content in the future! Your insights were not only accurate but also quite informative
I’m not actually from London, and although sometimes I say a few lines like Londoners, I actually have a Birmingham Staffordshire accent which I tried to hide a little. Some people even suggest I sound Australian but I think that’s the hat 🤠
Loved the video Mick & Trudie, we too have lived here a long time and consider Turkey as our home, it’s so beautiful and friendly. One of our dislikes is the ‘multi-tier pricing system’ they have here. It happens in a great many establishments depending on where you are and who you are, things will be priced either higher or lower. I personally don’t think it’s fair that certain establishments should exploit people in this way.
One more video I love. You guys always give the true story about life in Turkiye. Me and my husband started watching you more than 6 years ago. We fell in love with your videos and Turkiye and started planning to buy a house there and live winter months there and summer here in the USA. I needed to work till 2021 and we decided to come there in the spring of 2020 and look for the property. And Covid comes, no travel. We are waited for a better time, but my husband got sick and passed away in February this year. I am still watching your videos and have a question: do you guys think it will be smart for me to move alone there? Look like lately been a lot of changes.
Hi Mick and Trudy, hope this finds you well, im a Turk living in Australia and i agree with you whole heartedly, everything you said was spot on and more, my heart breaks every time we travel back and see it all in person as its such a shame because it truly is a beautiful country
As always great honest information from you guys, we’ve just had our first visit to calis beach area really enjoyed it but totally agree with your likes and dislikes, keep up the great videos etc 👍👍😘
As a frequent visitor to Türkiye (in fact I'm back in Calis in a couple of days), I couldn't agree more with almost all of your comments. And, they are so forgiving at me managing to massacre their language with my Duolingo Turkish😆 Also, I cracked a tooth in April and I went as a walk-in to a Fethiye dentist, check up X-Rays and treatment there and then cost the equivalent of about £50. You can just about get a check up for that price in the UK! Please keep these great vlogs coming for us. Great work both.

Thanks alot for your great comments dear Mick and dear Trudie... wish you all the best...
Have loved Türkiye since I first visited in 1983. And love the turquoise coast including Bodrum . Thank you for these wonderful videos.
Yaşadığınız güzel tecrübeler için sevinirken , tatlı eleştirileriniz için teşekkür ederim..
I'm Turkish and I agree with everything. I just want to say you're lovely people both of of you, I wish you a constant peace and happiness in Turkey.
Mick Amca! Huge thanks for correct notices on Turkish pros and cons, especially critique of smoking habits! Agree completely. Regards from Roman and Sofiya, Fethiye/İstanbul.
I like how you saying Turkiye. Respect✊
100% agree. Thank you for expressing my feelings...
I wish I could help you with it..!
Right on!! 👍
Regards from West London,, Dalyan nice place except mosquitos!! Turks are nomadic people trying to settle last 1000 years!!!
I think that by threatening criminal damage on peoples cars you have lost any moral ground you may think you have
First like from me 🙂 I strongly agree for your dislikes - since I born that esipecially cigarette buts and rubbish has always been problem.
You are right with the education. But the government wants to keep the people damn. It’s done on purpose.
I have a dream to move there now when I am retired.
dostum izmit, kocaelinde ne buldun yahu :D eskişehir falan olsa güzel şehirde.
Anti-education is a government policy in Turkey

Thank you from me who is living in San Diego/ California. I am turk and my hometown is Antalya. I waited to see some parts of Antalya too. But you right, there are many place for talk about Turkiye. Thank you again for this amazing video🙏🏻
Thanks M&T,
I can’t wait to visit Türkiye next May❤
hello
Make sure you pick the right place to visit!!
Great Video Mick and Trudie, you are so lovely!!!!
As a Turk living in the UK, I do 100% agree with your opinions.
I lived in UK for 13 years, back home now 16 years and totally agree with everything you said. I still love the country very much though and planning to spend my remaining life in here. Thanks for the video and your honest comments.
Hoş geldiniz. Evvela Türkiye ismimizi güzel söylediğiniz için tebrikler. Güzel gören güzel düşünür, güzel düşünen hayattan lezzet alır.
That’s awesome guys Thank you so much and greetings from USA!
Sizin gibi youtuberler sayesinde bu yıl 60 milyon turist gelmesi bekleniyor turkiyeye emeğiniz büyük
Mick & Trudie, thanks a lot for this nice video. As a Turkish expatriate, in Australia, i cannot agree more..
Türkiye demeniz çok nazik bir davranış. Çok teşekkürler.❤
Some tips;
1- Be careful with taxis, use the "bitaksi" application.
That's terrible advice. You should avoid mentioning you are a tourist, if you don't want to get ripped off and be safe.
I guess he is living there. You can understand that from his perfect Turkish. So he is local not a tourist
I think they'll be okay with average person when they say they're tourist@@turc9808
Doğru tespitler. Ne yazıkki böyle. Umudumuzu kaybetmiyoruz, düzelecek.
Thank you for your kind words. This is a very accurate video. You are always welcomed in Türkiye❤
So true. Our inaction against these problems, especially the street dogs is unbelievable.
I visited Turkey five times, I love that country. Definitely, you make the most informative videos about Turkey. Thank you for being objective in this video.
Turkish here 🖐🏼 Agreed with everything you’ve mentioned 100 %
As a Turk, I totally agree with the dislikes and I know you are merciful and gracious when telling your dislikes.. thank you 🙋🏻♀️❤️
Turkiey is amazing.
You are intertwined with the people, and your sense of humour is also very developed, may your smiling face always be abundant, Sincerely.
Amazing analysis and great video. You explained the pros and cons of Turkey perfectly.
Your points are all correct
I'm Türk and living in Ireland, also travelling to many parts of the UK regularly. We are like exchange students with you guys. :) In every day, I miss the weather of Türkiye under gray sky. There is no perfect place. Every country comes with its pros/cons but, I think everyone should experience the another geography. I wasn't aware how much we are lucky when I was in Türkiye. Now, feeling grateful more than ever when I visit.
I literally agree with all the likes/dislikes you've listed here. Well done for such a nice explanation.

Harika gözlemleme ve yorumlar❤ umarım bu video birçok kişiye ulaşır ve olumsuz özellikler üzerinde çalışmalar başlar 🙏
You are so kind and gentle Mick and Trudie. We are lucky to have you here!
We love you🙏
We live in Sydney, and soon planing to join with you guys. See you in Marmaris
Bir Türk olarak, ancak bu kadar güzel tespitlerde bulunabilirim.
İzlemek zevkti...Teşekkürler...
I've said this before, I'll say it again, you guys make GREAT videos about Turkey. Please make more of these videos
We’re in Çanakkale filming at the moment
Mick I totally agree with all your points. Your commentary has credibility because of your history in Turkiye. You two make an awesome team!
As a Turk who lives in Turkey I 100% agree everything about the dislikes especialy smoking, rubbish and the music
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and love about Turkey. Enjoying so much your you tube films. Merci

I think your likes and deslikes were 100% spot on. Thanks for a lot of supergodt videos.
Your love for our country is evident as day. I am glad good people like you are among us.
Well covered. All the points are absolutely valid. For a new comer though language is a huge barrier especially outside of the main cities or even in cities like Istanbul
izlediğim en iyi belgesel olabilir. Bizim ülkemizi gayet çok açık ve net bir şekilde tanıttığınız için teşekkürler!
Your vlogs not only capture the beauty of different places but also the essence of their cultures. Your storytelling adds depth to your adventures.❤

What a beautiful little video. The scenery in a lot of your filming is absolutely mesmerising. We have had our holiday home in Türkiye for27 years and just love it. Had to laugh at your section on the high speed train after the last week and the chaos of HS2.
HS2 🤣 it’s only 150 miles of track 🤠
Perfect comments, agreed with all. Best regards for both of you!
We are soon migrating to Turkiye for good and a happy life

i visit turkey alot, one thing i really dislike is the taxis, they refuse to put a meter on unless my husband is with me, they make up prices. we have spend alot of time in istanbul over the last 18 months and im so impressed with how well public transport runs and how cheap so i do try avoid taxi when i can.
couldn't have described my own country better, thanks for everything!
Hello Mick emmi , güzel video , Trudie yengeye selamlar. Kalın sağlıcakla.
Thank you❣️
Maalesef o çöpler buraya doldurulan arapların yüzünden.Güzelim ülkemi mülteci çöplüğüne çevirdiler.
If everyone of that see rubbish picked it up there'd be none left. Just do it! 😊
7:15 This sums it up. Love every second of this, great share.
Well said, so true
One more video I love. You guys always give the true story about life in Turkiye. Me and my husband started watching you more than 6 years ago. We fell in love with your videos and Turkiye and started planning to buy a house there and live winter months there and summer here in the USA.
I needed to work till 2021 and we decided to come there in the spring of 2020 and look for the property. And Covid comes, no travel.
We are waited for a better time, but my husband got sick and passed away in February this year. I am still watching your videos and have a question: do you guys think it will be smart for me to move alone there? Look like lately been a lot of changes.
You're being very polite.
@@jasnah9717 You will be amazed at how much easier it is to make friends in Turkey compared to USA. If you are feeling alone, do it.
Hi Mick and Trudy, hope this finds you well, im a Turk living in Australia and i agree with you whole heartedly, everything you said was spot on and more, my heart breaks every time we travel back and see it all in person as its such a shame because it truly is a beautiful country
It's a great video, thank you both 🙏 I totally agree with your Likes and Dislikes, especially "Trafik Canavarları" and Turkish music 😂👏🍀🧿
Great video with a lot of beautiful views and very correct observations! Thank you for being objective and showing around!!
I agree with you and your dislikes Dear Uncle Mick and Dear Trudie.🤗😍🥰🙏👍❤
