I wanna run my 2015 manual trans CTS V at the local drag hopefully before the weather is too bad for the year. I have a brand new set of nittos, so now is the time. very nice vid...
Thanks for the video, a lot of racers won’t share. I gettin a car ready and my only little bit of experience is with an auto trans. Manual should be a lot of fun if I can get some consistency and not break stuff. I’ve been puzzling over what parts are required and how it might work. I’m still studying on it but this video seem like some solid info. 👍
That's why when I built my Monster it had to stay what it was when I purchased it brand new in '91 a stick shift...The T-5 has been long gone but when I put a Windsor 427ci motor with a Procharger F1A-94 in it I figured a Magnum T-56 built by G-Force was definitely needed
I haven't missed third since I switched my hand position to palm down above the shifter for the 2-3 shift. Thumb up 1-2, palm down 2-3, thumb down 3-4. It will naturally make you push and pull towards the appropriate gate
@@mumfordsgarage3407 same it's all on the positioning of your arm and elbow and hand. I backhand my 3 to 4 nowadays cus one time in a Acura RSX when I was alot younger money shifted from 3 back to 2 and I was redlining it hahaha
Just to clarify is the brake you are referring to the hand operated line Lock?? You aren't using a foot on the brake pedal just clutch and accelerator yeah?
Is that a stock T-5? I have a rebuilt one that I’m about to mate to my rebuilt 306 that’s set up for a 150hp hit of NOS. I’m reconsidering putting the rebuilt T-5 in......any advice?
You can add a switch so you wont accidentally engage it. With a switch you would have to have the switch on, brake pressed and hit line lock button to engage it.
How would you do it without all that? When I launch on the street I 2 foot the brake and gas.. but I’m not sure how I’d do a burn out without roasting the rear brakes
Dragraced a stick car for many years in NHRA and ihra stock eliminator did 3rd gear burnout and never blew a clutch out. Doing a burnout without water would burn a clutch out in no time at all
Wow he’s redlining big time that’s not good for the motor, and flat foot shifting is great but it tears up clutch’s but if your a good drag racer that’s not a big deal, and burnout should be done in 1st gear actually not the highest gear that also damages the motor
Excellent cover of the steps and parts. Thank you!

WOW! I'm saving this. So useful in so many different ways. I learned and I enjoyed the "ride along" (go pro).
Sick intro!
did he ride the clutch or just dump it

So what’s the true story on slicks vs drag radials for manual transmission? Which ones to use and why
Really good explanation of the process. Well done.
How do you properly shift from 2nd to 3rd, without missing the gear. Do you guide the shifter yourself?
They never tell you they have a £20K trans set up in there,..... they want everyone to think they are shifting "stock" H pattern set ups LOL.

What clutch do you use. And flywheel thaks
Faceplated transmissions make for more accurate shifts as well. Wider engagement area compared synchronized transmissions.
Are you shifting with no clutch?
Why not have your 2-step on the clutch pedal?

T-5 days will be numbered !! Tremec is what you need...with that set up !
T-5 is a tremec trans, just a weak version. Go with a Tkx or a t56 now days. Gforce if your wallet has now limit.@@earlprice7200
Sick video!
Christ foxbodys can rev up to 8k?????
May be a dumb question, but what happens if you hit the button by accident while shifting once moving?
I think the only thing is that IF you apply your breaks, only fronts will operate for the time the button is depressed.

You can wire it into a mph switch too. That's how my clutch slipper is set up. Lingenfelter mph switch
Ok so what’d you run lol? Nice video by the way guess I’ll be spending 500$ on all that shit

@@artlovemusicpeace you 2 foot what do you mean?
@@thephantomzoneboxing Press left foot on brake and right foot on throttle.
Trent Lewis line lock would help the solenoid keeps pressure on the front brakes only when ur on the button
U best keep playing with Ur guitar leave the shifting to grown man
Pretty cool video
No mention loading up in handbrake wtf
Thanks for this info!
Thanks. I'm building a stick hot rod truck
Nice
First comment dogs it but I want that beat 🤣
👍
Don’t go out and learn the car just throw parts at it, great idea
I just did 0 to 60 in 2 seconds in my new ecoboost mustang 😳
3rd gear burnt out will blow clutch up

You are in the water box when you start the burn out. That eliminates the initial shock you are worried about

Rev limiters are real things and I'm pretty sure this engine has been built Rev higher than stock.
Lollllllll
2nd gear is good, also depends on your rear gear setup, tire size, engine hp and tq. Ijs.
Nobody cares what you think. Sometimes…….you just need to beat the Bi-ch!!!!
Could have been a good video without that gangster from the hood boom boom music 🎶... oh well 🤷
that beat isnt hood at all anyways clown
