That little girl has a sick sense of humor.. I love it!!
And a wildly creative imagination like a talented writer. Well written script.
Michael Sheen is great. I love how he pulls off "nervous exhaustion". Very clever even if it was a tad predictable :)
the way he nods at 7:00 -7:03
😇
How much emotion Michael Sheen portrays in his eyes is... sublime!
This was pretty weird...
But I'll watch anything with Michael Sheen in it.
Hell yeah!
Ohh yeah I literally have this as a chapter jn my English literature book and I absolutely love it..it is so suspenseful if thats a word but ill watch
Ok i just realised that this comment is literally from 8 yrs back😱

@@ten4372 os this in your English literature book too? Im in 8th grade and im in love with this short story
I LOVE MICHAEL SHEEN!!!!!!!
This was very good, and the young actress who plays the niece is wonderful!
She's been in loads of stuff now.
Romance at short notice was her speciality...
Yup, she was a little demon, alright.
touche.
I watched this some time ago, when it was first posted I believe, and I loved it back then. Greatly enough, I find it even better this time around.
I've read the story, years ago. This is so funny, and Martin Sheen is soo good, so perfect for this role! An exact interpretation!! ;)
+Ragavan R Michael Sheen*
+ddvsds lol, sorry :P Michael Sheen
:-)
LOL!
Michael Sheen.
I figured something was up after she said "They never came back," and then went on to describe how they died, even though there was never a single body returned.
Anything with Michael Sheen is true awesomeness! This is really neat. Well done
Look at that...Puts the tea down carefully before he bails, a true gentleman.
The look on his face when he saw them coming through the window was so funny
this adaptation of the Saki tale is gorgeous!
The actress playing vera's role is so talented!!
" Romance at short notice was her specialty "
And from that point i did understand the whole story 😃😃
That girl grew up to be one of the great writers of modern england
Outstanding! Wonderful attention to detail! A terrific period piece! Well done!
This is a great reconstruction of the poem into movie form! This so accurately pertains to the poem. Good job!!
My English Teacher is letting the class watch this! i think its cool!
Same here
Same

Yeah is very very cool
That was so fantastic! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Saki (H. H. Munro), you must read this story The Open Window and also read Sredni Vashtar and The Unrest Cure. Maybe even Esme. I did a research paper on him and he almost instantly became on of my favorite writers. Dark like Poe with a touch of satire and humor.
This was absolutely fantastic! Well done!
loved the short story.
love this as well.
It's one of the best I've seen recently, the atmosphere is created perfectly. And even though the little one is a liar you have to like her, she's so cute. And her stories are extraordinary.
I have no idea how I got here.
But I have no regrets
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing this really engaging film
Truly beautiful and witty short.
I have found a certain fondness for this one.
I never seen a werewolf run from a few ghosts. ;^)
Lovely story. So simple and yet so rounded. Excellent work and I must say I'm very happy to find quality stuff like this on UA-cam. A true treat.
wonderful short video! i've already watched it 3 times and have enjoyed it the same each time. thanks for making such great movies and keep up the fantastic work. this one is my favorite one so far.
thanks again!
That was beautiful, well done!
i love this ahaha tiny charlotte ritchie is amazing
I wasn't expecting that. Simple brilliant premise.
Charlotte Ritchie is the actor who plays Vera. Her IMDB profile indicates she was in a Harry Potter film as an uncredited student. Her most prominent role to-date is Barbara in "Call The Midwife."
Thank you for watching.
That was absolutely brilliant and sharp.
Great story, excellent acting and directing!
This is one of my fav stories by saki
Nicely done. Terrific shot composition and performances.
Excellently done. Couldn't be better. Thanks.
Wasnt that guy the Head Of Twillight the vampire movie O.O???
Yu0
I read the story when i was really young. This is exactly how I pictured it. Great job!
At that time there were no iphones or internet. That would have been a perfect way to pass the time XD
Loved this story.
this is hilarious. well done charlotte ritchie. 14 at the time and now part of a singing group all angels.
And now, 11 years after this comment, a pretty successful TV actress, starring in Fresh Meat, Feel Good, Ghosts, Siblings, Call the Midwest AND Dead Pixels. Wow, what a career. :)
And let's not forget her being in the 11th series of Taskmaster.
She is also in the latest season of You@@jand563
Most of my classmates don't like Vera but I think she is great because of her creativity. She may be a successful writer or actor
Great Adaptation! Love it.
Absolutely wonderful!
It was brilliant 😀
I had this written story in my english literature book if class 8 i love this story from that time and when i heard that the short film has been released so jumped directly to youtube and watch this awesome and marvellous film
I remember this story from an Alfred Hitchcock record of spooky stories I had as a kid. Funny that I randomly ran into this. I didn't know what it was at first, but as the film moved along it became more and more familiar, till I remembered it completely. Nice to run into a story from my childhood!
wow really clever from a little girl.. i mean she has an extraordinary way of inventing such amazing stories .i would like to spend a night talking with her like girl to girl you know ^^i am pretty sure that she has so many scary stories to tell ...that girl inspires me ^^

At the beginning you can FEEL the awkward between the two.
What an ingenious little girl xD

very serene and solemn at the start..hahahahha
That was awsome! That mr nuttle was an amazing actor!
¡This is my FutureShorts' favorite!
Perfect. I loved it.
Love this girl!!!
I know this comment is nine years old, but are you familiar with the stuff she's been doing recently.
LOL that was awesome! I had a feeling she was telling him a long tale!
Fantastic! Very eerie and comical at the same time. I was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time.
i thought the leads, charlotte richie and michael sheen, were brilliant. i loved this.
😄😄😄Her story scared him Shitless he bolted outta there with the quickness😃😃...
I had read it. This is excellent !!!
lovely, simply lovely.
A very nice dramatisation...
Some obvious changes from the original as part of the dramatising process (oh, and re. the title change; for non-British folk and Brits under "a certain age" the "French Windows" of the story are now usually called "French Doors" in UK) but none jarring, and the loss of the Narrator's last line is a shame, but understandable..
The changing of the lady's brothers to being her sons, and the later (inserted) throw away lines about "the War" and mud not only perhaps foreshadow her future - sitting at these same windows, vainly (?) waiting for their return from WW1 - but also, with the early comment about their bodies being lost, and never found, add touching echoes of the author's own, real life fate in the Great War....
Thanks for sharing..
Amazing Film,,,just amazing,,,WooooW !!
Great story.
i'm a new fan of michael sheen, really i only just discovered him from good omens and in looking into his catalog of work realizing he's been in a ton of movies and shows. it's so interesting looking into his past works, he's really great
