@@BenjaMage Do you play Visual Novel games? Perhaps the two XBlaze games, Code Embryo and Lost Memories. P.S. What's your username so Gustavo can race you in CTRNF?
I agree with him. Tag Team is one of my favorite games in the franchise. You just have to forget all about Team Racing and Nitro Kart because its mechanics are totally different. Its a game by its own and has nothing to do with them. If you pick this game open minded you'll have a lot of fun with it.
Other reviewers try to fit into this mold on what is socially acceptable to be "fun" or "good games", i've seen reviewers AND youtubers originally like some of these games, then come out a year or more later claiming they never had fun with it or it's bad. Not to mention the "not the original creator bias" that people have on games. Like how they look down on some games after ND despite having the same issues as ones in the trilogy (WoC comes to mind), almost as if people nitpick or try to find these issues. This bias applies to many franchises like Sly Cooper and it's 4th game.
I just remember the Die-O-Ramas making me feel sorry for Crash, especially that one where a machine decides that he'll never find love. Harsh when you know the explanation for Twana not being in most of the games after 1 is that she left Crash for Pinstripe.
My theory for Tawna (pre-N. Same Trilogy version) dumping Crash Bandicoot in favour of Pinstripe is that she was acting like a damsel in distress at that time rather than actually making an effort to defend herself when everyone else can (I know she’s a woman and the only female in the original game (which is why I think it’s sexist and not as good as people say even though it’s certainly not without it’s good qualities), but come on! At least Coco Bandicoot and Nina Cortex have some agency!)
It's so refreshing to hear someone actually having a good time playing CTTR, even if it is in such a childish manner (which, well, it's kinda what the game is like, so no shame XD) CTR Nitro Fueled is just fanservice at it's finest. They could have just remade the original CTR with modern graphics and online and call it a day, but they went the extra mile by taking aspects from the ENTIRE franchise, to the point where, if Crash was a part of your childhood in any way, shape or form, this game will make you smile. (for example, that giant dragon they added in Dragon Mines? Is the same one that chases you in one of the levels from Wrath of Cortex. I love everything about that)
I didn’t even pick up on that detail in Dragon Mines. Omg that’s great. I’m not a fan of Wrath of Cortex but that’s still so awesome they’re acknowledging so much of the series.

Really nice video. Watching it actually made me thing that CTTR would have been a much bigger success if it was a Crash Bash sequel instead of a CNK one. Basically keeping everything the same (the adventure etc.) but replacing racing with the mini-games of Crash Bash and expanding upon the concept.
I only played nitro kart and tag team racing, but honestly i loved tag team racing so much, i loved the fact that you could just wreak havock by just merging with someone, and having a hub world where you unlocked shortcuts for tracks, i thought it was genius, though i know some would like to dive straight into the action, but my favorite mode was the stunt one, i dont know, i just loved beating my old high score, or try to finnaly land a quad backflip, something like that, but if there was one thing i would change it would be the bot difficulty, yeah they where way to easy. Maybe the controls too, but i adapted to them way quicker than i should of.

Emperor Velo is actually one of the most competent villains in Crash Bandicoot series. I gave a full elaboration about him in my Top 5 Best and Worst One-Time Crash Characters list in DeviantArt(I should rename that list since Nitro-Fueled has Nitro Kart characters). And UNLIKE Oxide, Velo doesn't cheat in his race and I NEVER had that much issue with his weapons since he doesn't spam them that much. It's the track itself that makes Velo race the hardest boss in the entire series.
SideNotes: CNK: Bosses were gonna be implemented, but ultimately Cut do to time restraints CTTR: Was also Available on the PlayStation Portable(PSP) and Linking your PSP with the game to a PS2 with the game, unlocks more karts and Costumes. and if Anyone was Curious, YES! i have played The Crash Nitro Kart on the N-Gage. if you want my take (some jerk on the Internet) it was weird, the controls were slippery, especially with the N-Gage itself being, crowded. and it somehow was less visually appealing compare to the GBA version, which in hind sight, felt like a GBA port but felt much worse to me.
Dude, this was the first video I ever watched of yours, and it's awesome. Some funny gags, and well constructed discussions on these three games. Admittedly, I've always been a Nintendo guy, but I'm a pretty big Crash fan having played N. Sane Trilogy and CTR Nitro Fueled on Switch. Both are great games, and I'm excited to see what Crash has in store for his first big new game on the scene. Also, N. Gin always felt kind of boring to me in the remake games as I've played them, and this video shows just HOW MUCH a different voice actor can make or break a character. Like, N. Gin was hysterical in the brief snippet you showed, and I love the character. Makes N. Brio in N. Sane Trilogy feel like Nolan's N. Gin Lite, since Maurice Lamarche doing Brio makes him sound super funny and manic. Just felt like bringing up that observation, since it kinda rattled through my head while watching the video.
You earned a new sub with your quirky attitude, good sire. Looking forward to see more of your content. Also, WOW, I’m stunned to find out I wasn’t the only person who felt Nitro Kart on console went slower than Team Racing!
CTTR was crazy game: not only did the creators of the game make a gunner-driver mechanic where you OR the cpu can fuse and defuse at any given time, it’s how they made ALL CARS FUSE a certain look. The gunner mechanic was like item box but you can fuse anytime you like hell you didn’t even need to to win a race. Also your comment on the portal bosses for CTR, esp Ripperoo, technically teach the player all the mechanics they need to know all in one race-tnt crates can come off you if you bounce enough aka the start to the drift mechanic; Ripperroo doesn’t really progress that fast ahead of you if you are behind; Ripperoo speeds up of you the player are ahead and this is only attainable if the player utilized and understands the drift-mini boost mechanics :) Ripperoo being the first portal boss was imo the best idea for the game since it’s the first boss race where the player has to showcase what they have learned or need to learn in order to become one of the fastest racers in the galaxy. And hell, you’re gonna really need to master those mechanics esp boosting cuz OG Oxide was MUCH harder than CTRNF Oxide I can tell you that much. Édit: and yes I know it’s an old video but CTR was the first kart racer where some racing obstacles can be used towards cutting tracks (not shortcuts-big difference)
The love that Tag Team Racing is getting in the comments fills me with so much joy was my favourite game growing up playing split screen with my 2 friends after school, was honestly such a great feel good fun game, memories behind it are with me forever.❤️
I've only had CTR and CTTR, but I LOVEEEEEDDDD CTTR!! The stunt mode and the turrets were my favorite parts! CTR is no doubt the greatest, but CTTR was fantastic to me too!
YYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!! CRASH TAG TEAM RACING IS MY WHOLE CHILDHOOD AND IS ONE OF THE GREATEST GAME I EVER GREW UP WITH!! THANK YOU FOR SHEDDING GOOD LIGHT IN IT!! ITS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE GAME AND CRASH GAME IVE EVER HELD! GOSH EVEN IF ITS CHILDISH TO OBLIVION AND BACK, ITS MY COMEDY AND TIES IN WELL AFTER CRASH TWIN INSANITY!
Crash Nitro Kart was the game that introduced me to Crash in the first place and the fact that it came back in Nitro Fueled, it made the child in my heart cry tears of joy.
Most of my time with crash as a kid was from CTR and Tag team racing. I also played the Crash 1 demo on a demo disc I had. CTR was also my first Kart racer and I didn't play Mario cart until circuit on the GBA. I absolutely loved the story of tag team and I enjoyed the death cinematic a lot.
The first time I played Crash Nitro Kart after learning how to powerslide boost, I was quite disappointed in how quickly 3 boosts etc. turn into 0 boosts. And I was also disappointed when I discovered that reaching 50 boosts in Velo's Citadel counted for nothing. One of the two controls that I was using also wasn't very good which further added to the difficulty. But after multiple attempts, I did manage to unlock Fake Crash and Pura. I'm amazed at the number of people that criticise the Team Race mechanic. Since I always thought it was good. And the Team Frenzy mechanic makes up for the fact that you can't concentrate on other things like boosting. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get all the crystals in Desert Storm within the time limit. So I couldn't unlock Zam and by extension Velo. And I couldn't memorise the exact position of the shortcut in Hyper Spaceway so I couldn't beat N. Tropy's last ghost. I unlocked Zem, Polar, and Dingodile in 2007, and Fake Crash and Pura in 2011. I almost unlocked N. Tropy in 2012. Unfortunately I haven't found anyone that has owned the game since. So I haven't been able to play it. Regarding the race tracks, I find Coco Bandicoot, Doctor N. Gin, Nitrous Oxide, Zam, N. Trance, Polar, and Pura to be the best drivers for Out of Time, Thunder Struck, Android Alley, Electron Avenue, and Hyper Spaceway. And possibly Doctor Nefarious Tropy, Zem, and Velo. Though I haven't played as Velo since 2007, I haven't played as N. Tropy at all, and I haven't played as Zem since 2012. Plus I wasn't aware at the time that Zem was actually better at handling than Crunch Bandicoot, Tiny Tiger, and Dingodile who all have crappy handling. At one point Zem's handling did feel lighter than Dingodile's but I assumed it was just my imagination. Because it never occurred to me that he would have better handling than the other three main characters of the Advanced class. Nitrous Oxide and N. Trance are all rounders with 04/07 in everything. So they can race on pretty much every track without any issues. Except they are a bit slow compared to Zem and Dingodile. Pity you can't play as Nitrous Oxide or N. Trance in Adventure Mode. Crash Bandicoot and Doctor Neo Cortex don't have any major weaknesses but they aren't as good at handling as Nitrous Oxide or N. Trance. I also wasn't aware at the time that Fake Crash Bandicoot had the worst stats in the game - 02/07 in everything - though I assume that being slower than Crunch, Tiny, and Dingodile would make him better at handling corners, at least in theory. Since I have seen uploads of people racing as him on the Internet. And his crappy speed didn't really balance out his crappy handling quite the way you'd expect.
As a kid I played CTR sooo friggin much. I didn't even realize there was sequels to it lol. I had a couple crash games like wrath of cortex and crash bash which were both great too.. But CTR definitely got most of my attention. I might have to pick up that remaster sometime
0:47 My friends still remember how loud I was screaming and jumping and just generally freaking all the way out. That was a MASSIVE nuclear train of nostalgia.
I played one of the older racing games with my cousins when I was younger. I remember playing as Coco and there being an ice track. It's cool to see some videos from you! Hope you're doing great in your classes!
So I remembered playing a crash racing game as a kid, and all my life I never played it again, I always thought I was a kid so I remembered whichever one it was being way different than it actually is... Now I realize I played all three and mixed them together in my head
Hey! You know about the Hitchhiker's Guide? SO DO I! And I shall keep following the words printed in large, friendly letters on its cover: DON'T PANIC.
CTTR is my favorite crash game. Let's see what i think of this look at it. Edit: THANK YOU FINALLY THE RECOGNITION THIS GAME DESERVED!!! I need to mention on top of the writing, the hint texts that the game gives you when you don't have required things in order to complete quests other than crystal quests for coins are also so fun to read. The writer is often thinking about how other characters would react if they were told about the player's quest and at some point, and i'm not joking, they get tired of making the hint texts and claims that they'll be leaving the game industry entirely. Which is most likely a joke.
One thing I didn't notice is the fact that CTTR's soundtrack is in acapella like with Twinsanity and also the fact that CTTR promoted friendlier racing than the original and CNK. Like at the end of the day when you play CTR there is only one winner that will win the race so it is good as a competitive game. CTTR you can just bring a friend over to play and tag team against the A.I. Also while Mario Kart 8 was inspired by the zero-gravity racing stuff, Sonic Racing also adopted the kart team element from CNK.
Some things Maverick didn't go over: 1) Penta Penguin in CTR was treated as a Polar/Pura clone in the US versions, but in PAL & Japan copies, this was fixed to him being an All Maxed Stats driver 2) Velo in the GBA version of CNK is stupid hard. Granted he's hard in the Console versions but that Velo doesn't even compare to the amount of endless frustrations I've had with the GBA Velo
nitro kart was the very first game I ever played. around like 4 or 5 when this was actually a birthday present for my brother who is two years older than me.
CTR is also my favorite game off all time, along with the first game I ever played, I'm super excited for the remake and one thing that made my hype got even better, the very first reveal was revealed on my own birthday, my birthday is December 6, it may sound like im joking but I cannot joke as much as anyone can at this. I'm so happy they did it that day, I nearly passed out when I found out about the game after getting home from red robin during the night. It just feels like a perfect calling to me
I never knew that thing about teammates finishing first for you. Earlier I was playing CNK and getting annoyed at my teammate hogging first when I thought I'd lose if he got first. Since I haven't played TTR I won't dispute your opinion but CNK is a solid racer, but CTR is still better than it.

Crash tag team racing is my favourite crash game alongside with twinsanity
SideNotes:
CNK: Bosses were gonna be implemented, but ultimately Cut do to time restraints
CTTR: Was also Available on the PlayStation Portable(PSP) and Linking your PSP with the game to a PS2 with the game, unlocks more karts and Costumes.
and if Anyone was Curious, YES! i have played The Crash Nitro Kart on the N-Gage. if you want my take (some jerk on the Internet) it was weird, the controls were slippery, especially with the N-Gage itself being, crowded. and it somehow was less visually appealing compare to the GBA version, which in hind sight, felt like a GBA port but felt much worse to me.
18:54-19:05 Best moment! I just can't help being happy for you and this game!
I use to own most of the Crash games on the PS2, and Tag Team Racing was the one I played the most, so I am happy that it still holds up really well
I completely forgot about that bench pressing line. Great vid
Tag Team Racing was creepy in my opinion but i had a lot of fun, i think it was my favourite one cause i used to play it in co-op with my best friend
Crash team racing and Tag team racing were really fun. Crash nitro kart is like Space Jam?! I didn't notice that!
Loved these games during my childhood. Man time flys, but hey, I can't wait to revisit an old classic of mine soon, so I'm with you on that black.
Crash Tag-Team Racing HUB world was the best! I wish a remake of it, but just keeping the hub, and redoing the race stuff
Now I loved tag team, but not cuz the races, cuz the stunt arena. I LOVED THAT MODE!
Looking forward to Pasadena and Nina to come to Nitro Fueled.
With Nitro Kart having been one of my first video games, hearing that opening music is some great nostalgia
No wonder Tag Team Racing has my favorite version of N. Gin.
Also YOU LUCKY DOG.
3:04 - Your impression of N. Oxide is pretty spot on!
i loved the og ctr, and loved how tag team was both a racer an a plataformer crash, i also didnt even knew nitro kart existed til recently
Wait for Crash Bandicoot/Coco Bandicoot as DLC on Smash Ultimate
Crash Nitro Kart was the game that introduced me to Crash in the first place and the fact that it came back in Nitro Fueled, it made the child in my heart cry tears of joy.
Most of my time with crash as a kid was from CTR and Tag team racing. I also played the Crash 1 demo on a demo disc I had. CTR was also my first Kart racer and I didn't play Mario cart until circuit on the GBA. I absolutely loved the story of tag team and I enjoyed the death cinematic a lot.
25:30 Holy Crap! I didn’t even know there was a health bar in that game! And I played it a lot while growing up, great video dude, you earned a sub
Two of these games are my childhood fav crash racing games thanks man. 👍👍
As a kid I played CTR sooo friggin much. I didn't even realize there was sequels to it lol. I had a couple crash games like wrath of cortex and crash bash which were both great too.. But CTR definitely got most of my attention. I might have to pick up that remaster sometime
Did I just watch some random person on the internet talk about a bandicoot drive a car
Yes
And I liked it
0:47 My friends still remember how loud I was screaming and jumping and just generally freaking all the way out.
Excuse me but Nitro Fueled comes out in 6 days. It's time to panic. (But a good panic)
CTTR is my favorite crash game. Let's see what i think of this look at it.
Edit:
THANK YOU FINALLY THE RECOGNITION THIS GAME DESERVED!!!

Great, now I can't get the Crash Nitro Kart main themes out of my head. Thanks Maverick.
Some things Maverick didn't go over:
1) Penta Penguin in CTR was treated as a Polar/Pura clone in the US versions, but in PAL & Japan copies, this was fixed to him being an All Maxed Stats driver
2) Velo in the GBA version of CNK is stupid hard. Granted he's hard in the Console versions but that Velo doesn't even compare to the amount of endless frustrations I've had with the GBA Velo
He also didn't go over the fact that in the GBA version you can play as the bosses (he did show footage but didn't say it outright)
@@seabossgaming5405 Oh forgot to mention that. Must've forgot to mention that tidbit too. GBA CNK is actually not too bad in all honesty.
nitro kart was the very first game I ever played. around like 4 or 5 when this was actually a birthday present for my brother who is two years older than me.
You know, you did good out there!
Cortex: Get out of here you filthy clown
lol
This is the only person I have seen who still like CTTR
CTR is also my favorite game off all time, along with the first game I ever played, I'm super excited for the remake and one thing that made my hype got even better, the very first reveal was revealed on my own birthday, my birthday is December 6, it may sound like im joking but I cannot joke as much as anyone can at this. I'm so happy they did it that day, I nearly passed out when I found out about the game after getting home from red robin during the night. It just feels like a perfect calling to me
Now I’m just waiting for the Crash 2 review.
It was nice knowing you
I never knew that thing about teammates finishing first for you. Earlier I was playing CNK and getting annoyed at my teammate hogging first when I thought I'd lose if he got first. Since I haven't played TTR I won't dispute your opinion but CNK is a solid racer, but CTR is still better than it.
