This would be cool to have in DnD if you played with strict carry weight rules. Something to carry potions or more gold. If you could upgrade it to carry more weight and it could actually go across tough terrain. Maybe something you build as an artificer or something that is just readily available in the world. I personally don't play with carry weight rules unless something is rly heavy so it probably would not be very useful in my campaigns.
I think the robot dog (Boston Dynamics' Spot) would be a lot cooler - legs are better for all terrain purposes and it can probably carry more google time! max payload weight for Spot is 14Kg or about 31lbs, so it beats the 20lbs carrying mini cooler on wheels. if I ever find 75 grand in the street I'm getting a robot dog.
Honestly, this feels like a proof of concept for the purpose of marketing to investors rather than consumers. Like they came up with some pathfinding technology they're proud of, but to prove its applicability and sellability they had to at least make a basic product and get influencers in on it.
This is literally just one of those trackers at grocery stores that follow the worker and bring the carts to them but a little bit more advanced. And the cart machine carries more and costs less
I have a backpack with a small power bank in it. It's on the inside and there's a plug/cable that connects to an outside pocket. I can just charge all my things. They're all type C USB, too, so I only need the ONE cable. 🤦♀️ AND carry things.
The only way I can think of this robot being remotely useful is by being used by rhosewith a wheelchair or maybe other disabled people who can't carry heavier items without pain; but at that price point, it's out of reach for many with those needs
Only going off my own disabled experience, but I don't think this thing would help much more than a reasonably ergonomic backpack, and the price and weight cancel out any accessibility anyways!
It could honestly be slightly helpful for wheelchair users/people who can't carry things and need things like medication on hand but in the majority of ppl's life... idk...
It's not covered by insurance so it's pretty inaccessible to most folks with chronic conditions. It COULD be helpful IF it were small enough to maneuver around indoors but strong enough to deal with more than a 16% slope grade...
@@sarahkp729 Yeah it's definitely not anywhere near being a medical aid, I think there's some potential for something like that for ppl with mobility aids or people who for whatever reason can't carry bags but like, not from some shady Italian company
Yeah, you can't think of a reason this is useful because you're able-bodied, and because just like the infomercials with "useless" products, the company refuses to market it with disabled influencers. I'm in a wheelchair part time and this would genuinely make it easier to do many, many tasks in my everyday life. Of course it would get stolen in some areas, but it's not like people never steal wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
well this is weird, piaggio are the makers of my dad's good ole ape poker, which is infinitely more useful than this thingie... never thought I'd see an italian brand locally famous for scooters and humble commercial cargo vehicles (and internationally famous for vespas i guess) in a yt commentary video with a mainly american genz target audience 😅
the funniest thing to me is the whole “we studied how people walk so this thing could seamlessly follow you around”. when there’s absolutely no need for that. everyone walks around with their phones and this thing is already paired to your phone. ALL it needs to do to follow you around is track the phones location 💀
Great until you encounter some stairs, then you have to pick it up and carry it like a Neanderthal caveman. EDIT: OMG and it’s only 50 lbs! Merry Christmas Grandma, here’s your 50-pound robot you’ll have to carry up and down the stairs.

It looks like it could be useful for my ADHD addled ass who keeps leaving items on opposite sides of the room and ends up running back and forth for them. But... my room, as a result, is terrain that the robot can't traverse. So.
If I had a nickel for every BS personal assistant robot that was only available to influencers I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird there’s two of them. Amazon has one named Astro that has a camera and can be commanded to go to different rooms to basically spy on your family. Astro, however, is invitation only so the general public can’t buy one
Now......and hear me out on this....if they improved the shock absorbers and made it possible to screw things like a tripod into the top, it could be a top notch piece of filming equipment. Imagine livestreaming outdoors and moving around/changing locations without holding a phone or having it strapped to your body anywhere. Your own little personal camerabot.
I love all things robot related and fall in love with any new robot concept I see, but this isn't very exciting. It's just a tiny box that follows you around. Other than following you, it has no other purpose . All I could think was that someone could run up behind you and steal the robot.
So, I'm assuming it follows you mostly based on being connected to your phone. If your charging the phone in the robot, would you be able to go anywhere? Even if its got the infrared camera, its not going to be able to recognize you to follow.
Next I want a robot wallet that doesn't fit in my pocket, has a cup holder, and asks me if I need to order stuff from Amazon when I am hiding from the police.
Anyone who is still being influenced by The Shein Sheila is probably the type of person who *would* go out and buy this barely useful robot for over $2,000. 🤦 The manner in which she went so hard for what might be the worst clothing company around and doubled, tripled, *quadrupled* down about how AHMAAAAZING they were has left a permenant haze of ick over her social media presence. Going from advertising Shein to advertising this almost useless robot is not really a good look. (Also, I don't want to shame people who have shopped at Shein cause as humans we all do things that aren't the best sometimes. However, all shame to wealthy influencers buying Shein hauls to show off for content only to then toss the clothes in a dumpster or donate them to thrift stores so that the only clothes poor people like me can find are trash quality fast fashion pieces cause that's all anyone is donating anymore. And even more shame to those who take payment from Shein to spread propaganda that they're actually an eco-friendly and ethical company.)
If I'm playing Don't Starve, sure I want a little box to follow me around, but in real life I don't want to this. It's slow which would make crossing street a nightmare and actively makes it take longer for me to go anywhere, struggles on anything but smooth even ground so if I hit a gravely hill I'm probably fucked, is expensive as shit, and probably is pretty heavy so if it dies i'll have to waddle back home carrying it.
Wait a second. Everyone is talking about how great being able to charge your phone on the go is, but isn't it following your phone through the app?? You can't even charge your phone while you're walking or else it would have no way to follow you!!! That's so insanely stupid. From a handicap point of view, I can see how this would be really helpful. It would help charge my leg, would be cool if it could double as a foot stool to have something to help me get off the floor, hold my water, carry excess electronics, hold my water proof cover for my leg.
Edit
I would still like to see a medical version of this. I could see this being useful.
I didn't even think about it charging medical devices! I am so bad about charging mine.
@@astoriarego8304 same here, lol. I can see so many medical uses for this, from the camera to it just hauling things. For everyone else this device seems, sadly, useless. You get all of the same features with a rolling cooler and a phone.
ethan just keeps getting cuter to me lmao such a wholesome boy
such a wholesome individual
😏😏😏
"...that has obsessively studied how we move as humans." Ohhhh, I WONDER if they researched ALL human movements, I definitely don't think entire groups of humans were completely fcking left out of that research. Omfg
Piaggio is the maker of Vespa. I have no idea why the branched out into personal robots.
they want to create the wild vespas from luca
I was wondering the same thing, they're an iconic scooter company, why a weird little robot?
can’t wait until the peethanbot drops. looking forward to it!
If it held more it’d be handy for disabled folk like myself, I have to carry so much just to be comfortable but then it’s too heavy and it’s a whole thing, exhausting.
I don't need a backpack that can charge my phone and be used as a bluetooth speaker if i can just... put a bluetooth speaker and a battery pack in my backpack.
Even my dog follows me around... He shakes hands n give high-fives (low-fives actually... He smoll)
unfortunately you failed to consider that he is just a little guy that follows you around everywhere you go and that’s sick
Just wanna say before the premiere starts, I love your content so much. It always gives me something to think about or even just entertain me and helps me get feel like things aren't so bad when I'm in depressive episodes. Thanks Ethan
Sameeeee
A whole ass 2400$ droid for a single additional inventory slot? Cmon.
This could also be helpful for elderly people, other than the whole stairs/curbs/any minor obstacle issue
I will say many disabled and older/aging into disabled people end up moving to single level places and aiming for walkable places with ramps etc
I'm waaaaaay too anxious for my belongings (at least $2500 worth) to be trailing behind me. They could have at the very least made it look like a cute robot pet. Slap some googly eyes on this poor thing!
Woaaah cool idea
It is in dnd. Tensers floating disk
@bluewavelengths3367 yea but that's a temporary spell it would be cool to have as a familiar or just a little companion that follow you around
Check out mausritter
as an italian the fact that this thing is made by piaggio makes it like 10 times funnier lol
Lol its like someone on the design team said : "You know, it would be so cool if my helmet had wheels so don't have to carry it"
She's actually right though, it's on the ranks of flying cars. As in the technology has existed for decades and is a terrible idea
I think the robot dog (Boston Dynamics' Spot) would be a lot cooler - legs are better for all terrain purposes and it can probably carry more
google time! max payload weight for Spot is 14Kg or about 31lbs, so it beats the 20lbs carrying mini cooler on wheels.
if I ever find 75 grand in the street I'm getting a robot dog.
Honestly, this feels like a proof of concept for the purpose of marketing to investors rather than consumers. Like they came up with some pathfinding technology they're proud of, but to prove its applicability and sellability they had to at least make a basic product and get influencers in on it.
My dog would have a panic attack if a robot followed us on our walk lol
one must imagine himself as sisyphus pushing the gita plus up the stairs
This is literally just one of those trackers at grocery stores that follow the worker and bring the carts to them but a little bit more advanced. And the cart machine carries more and costs less
Bing bong
3:09 It's 2023 and they're giving this super advanced robot USB-A?!
the girl who lives in New york literally had a side bag that looked like it held the same amount the robot would 😭
I have a backpack with a small power bank in it. It's on the inside and there's a plug/cable that connects to an outside pocket. I can just charge all my things. They're all type C USB, too, so I only need the ONE cable. 🤦♀️ AND carry things.
"Sure, but note that the lid is not water-tight"
💀
The only way I can think of this robot being remotely useful is by being used by rhosewith a wheelchair or maybe other disabled people who can't carry heavier items without pain; but at that price point, it's out of reach for many with those needs
Jansport has adaptable backpacks that can attach to wheelchairs (and walkers it seems but the links don’t pull up the bags directly for some reason)
What's the countdown animation from? Looks like an anime I'd be into
Only going off my own disabled experience, but I don't think this thing would help much more than a reasonably ergonomic backpack, and the price and weight cancel out any accessibility anyways!
Piaggio be like, "Here's a robot that follows you around and can hold one book and your phone and that's it. That'll be $2,500." 🙄
“Ever heard of a crossbody bag? We made one 1000 times more expensive than that and also it’s easier to steal”
well this is weird, piaggio are the makers of my dad's good ole ape poker, which is infinitely more useful than this thingie... never thought I'd see an italian brand locally famous for scooters and humble commercial cargo vehicles (and internationally famous for vespas i guess) in a yt commentary video with a mainly american genz target audience 😅
They could have given them to disabled people who have trouble carrying things. That would've made more sense.
the funniest thing to me is the whole “we studied how people walk so this thing could seamlessly follow you around”. when there’s absolutely no need for that. everyone walks around with their phones and this thing is already paired to your phone. ALL it needs to do to follow you around is track the phones location 💀

Pee nation pee nation

Great until you encounter some stairs, then you have to pick it up and carry it like a Neanderthal caveman.
EDIT: OMG and it’s only 50 lbs! Merry Christmas Grandma, here’s your 50-pound robot you’ll have to carry up and down the stairs.
Can we also talk about how far behind it follows ?? Like that shits definitely getting scooped/hit
i was like "aw hey that could be kinda useful in some little ways, i think its neat." but then you showed the price and i absolutely started to agree with you
Ethan I have to say the skits have been hilarious thanks
A lot of socialist content makes me angry or cry hangry, eating my nuggies while I experience a dystopian crushing of the soul.
You make me giggle... and i have to tell you, i love you for it! 😂❤😂❤😢😢😢
I'm going to buy ten of them fill nine of them with lit fire works and one with a KitKat bar and ley siege on the local walmart
Glass bottles would absolutely shatter in that thing as it awkwardly maneuvers around
probably not but they would certainly shake up the liquid inside a bunch
That one clip in NY she is carrying a bag and put only one book in the bot.....
its totally useless but i think the draw might just be that the robot is a silly little guy and people tend to like those
i know this robot is unnecessary and dumb and needlessly expensive but like. it's just a little dude who follows you around i love it. he's just a little guy, i can't bring myself to hate it.
i know i am exactly the problem here but still...funky little robot man...
Same I mean it’s jus a little guy it did no wrong 🥺
The company did the wrong. Blame the company not the lil guy
Imagine if it died and you just had to drag along a huge-ass 30 pound robot
It looks like it could be useful for my ADHD addled ass who keeps leaving items on opposite sides of the room and ends up running back and forth for them. But... my room, as a result, is terrain that the robot can't traverse. So.
If I had a nickel for every BS personal assistant robot that was only available to influencers I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird there’s two of them. Amazon has one named Astro that has a camera and can be commanded to go to different rooms to basically spy on your family. Astro, however, is invitation only so the general public can’t buy one
They're using it to gather people's personal data and facial recognition as well. Trends are getting us further into a police state.
At first i thought it could be used for a disabled person who can't lift a backpack, but it can't handle terrain without help and weighs 50lbs? Nvm
I love all things robot related and fall in love with any new robot concept I see, but this isn't very exciting. It's just a tiny box that follows you around. Other than following you, it has no other purpose . All I could think was that someone could run up behind you and steal the robot.
I *do* want a little machine that follows me around, not even gonna lie about that
So, I'm assuming it follows you mostly based on being connected to your phone. If your charging the phone in the robot, would you be able to go anywhere? Even if its got the infrared camera, its not going to be able to recognize you to follow.
It's so funny how much they advertise the charging feature like they forgot Powerbanks were already invented a while ago
"It has depth sensing technology, color sensing technology, infra red technology" literally just describing It Having A Camera Capable Of Infrared
robots are supposed to assist in tasks too dangerous, too repetitive, or just too inconvenient for humans to do...HOLDING 3 ITEMS ISN'T ONE OF THEM
Its just like a mobile trash can if the trash can was useless
u know ppl would steal that bot off the streets
Lmao this is a petty thing to have a go at but I definitely agree and live for it 😂😂
If I'm playing Don't Starve, sure I want a little box to follow me around, but in real life I don't want to this.
If you need to be stationary to use the charger you might as well just bring a cord or a portable charger with you. Portable chargers usually don't weigh 30+ pounds.
This... is certainly a thing. Yep, it's a product, that's for sure. You can definitely... buy this. Uh-huh.
