It’s an exceptional board

loved the 21/22? version for groomers and trees and the occasional pow day. but the day I tried it I was told they were already sold out everywhere, and he was not kidding. they went fast that year. 😬
Its definitely a crowd favorite year after year. It has quickly turned into the unofficial Custom for freeriders.

Great explanation. How does a burton juice wagon compare to a hometown hero?
The full camber design and directional shape made the Juice Wagon a great board for charging on hardpack and had pretty good float, but the Hometown Hero has a more versatile shape. Even though the Juice Wagon had a similar flex and taper the overall shape of the HTH has it feeling more like a standard twin board on flat snow because of the taper being beyond the contact points . In addition the HTH has more float in deep snow with the added rocker in the nose.

@@joshuak5757 The Gril Master is similar to the HTH but Marko liked a little more taper (15mm vs 12mm in the HTH) and he liked a little more directional flex vs the twin flex of the HTH. It's kind of like taking the HTH ad shoving it a little more toward the freeride side of things.
Why does the edge look different on that board compared to my HH? That one’s edge looks all white/silver. Mine is black between the metal giving it a layered look rather than uniform colour.
Haha, good eye. It because technically that is a HTH smalls we used in the video. It for better in the frame than the adult sizes 🤷♂️
@@PeterGlennSports interesting. Yes I was eyeing up the one in your video when trying to decide on sizes. Certainly more video friendly as you say. I knew it was v.small, but kind of surprised the edge detail is different. I wonder if that's cosmetic or a technical reason 🤔
@@JonGPxl it’s just a cosmetic thing. Probably to make the kids and adult ones easier to differentiate from each other at a glance.
Hello, I’m just about to buy this board in the uk, I’m 5ft 9, 185 pounds, and have used a custom Flying V 156 for last 6 years, but wanna change up my camber, but I’m super split between the 156 or 160 feel I’m probably a bit heavy for the 156, but what are your thoughts, I’d use mainly for groomers, craving and some pow when we get it here in Europe thx a lot Ben
You'll be more than fine on the 156 👍
How different is this board from the straight chuter please sir ?
The Straight Chuter has a stiffer flex and less aggressive side cut. It’s more of a big mountain freeride board for pow, fast lines, and longer/mellower carves

How does it compare to K2 excavator ok both pow and groomers?
Similar riding style but feels more like a traditional snowboard. The Excavator is a short/wide volume shifted board.

How does this compare to the BSOD?
The BSOD is definitely a little stiffer torsionally making it more aggressive edge to edge. The HTH has a little smoother, more predictable feel. Both dope boards though, just for different riding preferences.

How does this compare to the daily driver? They seem pretty similar
Compared to the HTH the Daily Driver is a little softer, has a little less taper, and has a slightly different shaping making it closer to a traditional all mountain board. I would describe the Daily Driver as a little closer to a "3D" version of the Custom.
These vs the k2 passport for an all mountain/freeride board that’s good for POW days too. Thanks

@@keyniekwan7662 the whole Family Tree line is freeride focused but there are different focuses whithin the line up. Burton has their "tried and true shapes" and then their "new and experimental". With that in mind they do an All Mountain/Freeride (this year the HTH and the Gril Master, a Traditional Freeride (this year the Straight Chuter and Power Wagon), and a Freeride/Pow (this year the Pow Wrench and Short Stop). If you all ready have a Custom I'd stay away from the HTH and Gril Master as they are too close performance wise. Id go with something closer to full on freeride or even pow specific.
dam saw the largest this goes to is a 160W. im 6' 230lbs and wear a size 12boot, is this to small for me?
Burton does have a 165w in the HTH 👍
i want so bad to buy a burton snowboard but witgh my 12US boots i find it difficult. I could go 160W with this one though... 186 6.1... should be fine? I am lookin also for the k2 excavator but i need to decide. Burton boards are Burton boards ;) i am also thinkin for the Tree Gril Master. Any idea? how would you compare it to Hometownhero

As for the Gril Master vs HTH they are very similar boards, The Gril Master just has more taper and slightly wider widths for added float.
@@PeterGlennSports wow thanks for the information. Never though I can go with a non wide snowboard. Actually I have found that with 26.5 width my boot is perfect but maybe I can go on a regular snowboard. Thanks a lot it was very helpful.
@@_angk_ yeah no worries. ITs just like Matt said in the video size 12 is kind of the size where you can go either way depending on your skill level, riding style, and actual width of the board.
