Wish you would do more Burton reviews. I rode the skeleton key last year, riding the deep thinker this year. The skeleton key was phenomenal in powder and groomers, park was a bit too stiff.
I gave the 156 a good blast today. Gotta say I found it pretty damp. I was using genesis x est though. I liked it, will give it a go with malavita est later this week
I just picked up one of these 2022 hometown heros in the splitboard version and some spark surge bindings.i wanted to get a jones board but i figured for my first splitboard burton would be a good option since im used to riding them. I almost got the k2 murarder but it was a lil expensive. Hope its not a turd
@@jiblyjably Its a solid board and worth what I paid being half off. I had it almost year before using it though. Got to Mt. Washington NH in late decemeber 2022 and not enough snow. Ended up taking it out on regular hiking trails/state park in Baltimore County last January after some snow and It rides more or less like a regular snowboard. Not enough turns on hard pack to tell how it really turns but I'm used to pretty aggressive boards this thing seems middle of the road to slightly soft. For my first time split boarding I felt right at home on the board. there are probably much more exciting boards out there. Build quality is nice. But if you can find it for a deal id go for it. I'm assuming you are talking about the regular version not the split. reason I got this was because I'm used to burton and didn't want to get a splitboard that felt completely different from what I'm used to
Kinda like my berzerker. Dude that thing was amazing in the 2 foot plus storms we just got in slc. It was an insane week. I rode 2 foot frieshies all week. Snowbird is sick and all but wayyyy to many yups
@@switchflip9550 I got the 2017 one. apperently that one was good. its blue with like a geometric shape in the middle and a die-cut sintered base. I felt kind of hooky a first because the sidecut is kinda sharp, and i was on a firm groomer but i got used to it . Was amazing in the pow and even pretty tight trees
Hey Avran, I’ve gotten 100+ days on my 156W HTH. Looking to buy a new board that’s similar. I’m no expert, but I am advanced (cliffs, med/large jumps). From the north east and get at least 50 days in a season. Looking for something to replace my current HTH as I’ll be making my way out West this year. I am an aggressive rider who likes to ride off piste and finds peace flying through the air over fat skier kids. Never really looked into boards too much, but do you have any other recommendations which may be a little stiffer or have a similar ride with a less awkward feeling for spins? Thinking another 156 HTH or taking a look at K2 Rider: Size 10 boot, 190lbs, 22.5in stance Any thoughts are appreciated.
You’re so angry. Thanks for the honest review. I am ready to update my 2006 burton royale camber board. It sounds like hometown hero is ideal for the type of riding I do lately. Intermediate to low level advanced ability. Down any hill, laid back but occasionally fast, want to have the ability to go edge to edge quickly, through the trees, snurfing, mostly groomed hills, occasional ice and occasional powder, free ride, no park. That being said Is hometown hero too stiff for control at slow speeds through tight tree runs? How does this thing stack up against a burton custom camber or burton custom flying v? Thank you. Please make more videos.
I rode this board last season and agree that it is the opposite of damp. I like the set-back and taper. Any thoughts on a similar concept board that is easier on the joints? Is that the FA? Have you compared this to the Skeleton Key (for example)? I'm somewhat of a fanboy, but not a loyalist, so open to thoughts. Thanks. PS What's with all the tiny side-cut radius?
Hi, I’m 155/70kg, +21/-12, stance 23. Which setup did you use it? In particular setback? I tested with my stance, in line with the reference of the board, and with 1 cm/ 0.4 inch foreword. The reference setup seem to be better in curving but looking at the board far back. Which is the best setup for you in these 3 scenario: curving, powder, and freestyle mainly jump/ rotation. Thanks!
For me, it is(first burton board). Only 2 days on it but it feels miles better than my previous board, which was head instinct i.kers G+, hybrid camba, etc-etc It actually feels more forgiving despite the fact that it is a camber with a rocker in the tip.(the head was camber beneath the bindings with flat between them; not very good off-piste but fast AF on groomers)
Hi big fella I'm looking for a new board not a park board more all mountain freeride directional. There's so many out there to choose .like look of stratos .or never owned a lib tech. Looking for a mind blower 😆
Hi got a 2020 158 flagship a 158 2013 custom x a burton 2013 154 joystick a burton 155 process for dicking around on and a burton fish 2013 and a jones 2018 156 hovercraft. Probably don't need another board but love finding a new board that feels great .they all feel different
This (angrysnowboarder) is always the best place to start when you want a board review
I heard amazing reviews of this board. I think it was burtons best selling board this year.

Thank you for giving us your review of a board that's not featured in this review. It was truly enlightening.
@@AngrySnowboarder I realized my request turned into a review. My bad
@@AngrySnowboarderwhy do you hate Burton? Genuinely curious
Great review, I definitely got bucked around last weekend. Love this board though!

Gretchen board
. Love it
Any thoughts on the 2023 model? Seems slightly diffrent...
Have you tried any of the Korua Shapes boards? My local shop just got a few and they seem really fun for carving.
Negatory sir, been trying to get some for the last few years.
Angry Snowboarder I hope they send you some sticks, would love to hear your opinion.

What are the top 5 boards for 40+ with knees that have some wear ?

What is your favorite Burton for groomers, all mountain, and powder when it's available. It does not seem like you're a huge fan of Burton. Thanks
Custom Camber.
Avran, you seem weirdly relaxed, it seems you have taken your meds today
Meds? What meds?
I already have an Orca, would this board make sense to add as my next one?
Eh somewhat but there will be overlap between it and your Orca.

Give the K2 Passport a look.
How does it compare to the Arbor Iguchi Pro Camber?
No clue haven't ridden that board.
What were some of the top boards in this category? I like that it grips on ice (Perisher. Aust).
Great board. Rides like a stiff charger when you point down hill and feels nimble and quick when you need to throw it around.
Nitro Banker or Mountain or this for intended use and purpose of freeriding and charging good and bad conditions
Take your pick.
You’re my hero bro
Yo dude random question - where is a good place to stay in Park City?
A hotel.
@@AngrySnowboarder Hell yea. I should have thought of that.
You should add your stance width, angles , and location from center to your list of set up details.

I just bought that model 👌
How does it compare with the Flight Attendent?
The FA is a little more damp and not as aggressive with how it drives through a carve.
Pretty surprised by those comparable boards. Looks more like a pick your line.
Please review the arbor crosscut I’d love to hear your opinion on it. Great fucking channel 👍👍

Fuck Flying V that camber profile is trash don't waste your time. For what you're describing this is fine.
Great review
How You will compare it with Rome Ravine. Similar boards or .... what are big diffrences. I already checked Kevin's and Your Reviews
Less Ravine and more Blur.

Flight Attendant sucks. Skeleton Key is probably what you're looking for.
Guys you are awesome
EST bindings only still with Burton? I'm Burton ignorant.
Most brands have mounting disks that work with the channel.
As long as it has a 2 hole disk you're golden.
@@AngrySnowboarder 2 holes and you're golden.... Got it 🤟

I wouldn't consider this a board for spinning. Went 21.5 15 negative 12 which is basically the reference stance.
Angry Snowboarder thank you. So with almost zero setback, correct?
Whatever the natural setback is.
I sorta considered this for my first burton board ever but this review talked me out of it. And it isnt wide enough. Smash that like button.
