Though it's not a horror game, Eternal Champions always struck me as a macabre experience. All the characters are people who suffered tragic deaths and they have to kill each other to have a shot at redemption. Bleak stuff
ZAMN was always annoying to me on genesis because of this horrible enemy hit noise it makes. Purely because of the sound, I always ended up playing the SNES version of that one, even though I far preferred the Genesis as a console overall.
Oddly enough, Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) didn't appeared in any Ghostbusters game until Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Dev: Terminal Reality; Publisher: Atari Interactive & Mad Dog Games - 2009 & 2019 Remaster).
Winston Zeddemore = ''I've only been with the company for a few weeks and let me tell ya I have seen shit that will turn you white!''. Always loved that line from him.
I’m quite surprised there was no mention of Haunting Staring Polterguy. I always saw it as one of the best hidden gems on this system and a horror classic overall. One of the most unique games on the system, if not ever

You put in the end music from altered beast . It's my favorite. When I was little I used my Sony waterproof yellow boombox to tape it so I could rock out to it in secret in my room
I had chakan as a kid, and I seem to remember that if you played on practice mode, you had access to all the different sword powers from the start of the game. It's the only way I ever played the game.
I always pop in The Haunting with PoulterGuy during the Halloween season. It has more of a fit with the holiday seeing how I play Bloodlines, Chakan, and Decap Attack anytime of the day lol
Splatterhouse 2 is still one of my favourites just from the aesthetic stand point. It oozes that 80s era of horror. Can't wait to start making a spiritual successor to it
Even though they probably weren’t as good as the original game I was glad the genesis got splatterhouse 2 and 3 exclusive to the console. I’m personally a big fan of the series
Not to take anything away from the greatness that is Mutant League but around this time of the year I always give Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl a few rounds.
Happy Halloween everybody! I sure wish they would hurry up and get my Genesis Mini 2 here already so I can try out this Ooze game...and of course play the others. That Space Harrier 2 ending credits song you play has me itching to try the new version that ships with the Genesis Mini 2. Finally, Some 16-bit Space Harrier with real scaling. ;)
I am developing a game that is heavily inspired by Demon's Crest, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and Metroid. Hopefully people play it yearly once it is finished haha.
I've always felt that Splatter House 3 was the best in the series because of it's switch to a more traditional beat em up and it's plot. Anyways, Happy Halloween to everyone
Well that’s it. I’m playing Bloodlines TONIGHT. Halloween season is almost over, & this is the second Lordx vid I watched today that mentions it. & I remember playing it when it came out, so I love it.
Totally worth it. If you play as Eric LeCarde, you can stab diagonally by holding down the attack button and pressing the D-pad in any direction, even in a sweeping clockwise or counter-clockwise motion to sweep the spear around him in a spinning arc. I never see anyone doing that on playthroughs, not sure why. You can also hold down to charge up a super jump that kills anything you come into contact with.
Another fun game to play during Halloween would be "Haunting: Starring Polter-guy", which involves being able to play as a ghostly skateboarder whose objective is to scare away a sleazy businessman and his family out of their home by possessing various objects in many spooky yet hilarious ways. In fact, if there ever was a proper video game based on "Beetlejuice" to be made, that is how it would definitely be played. XD
Not a Sega game but Earthbound maybe the scariest 16-bit game. The way the game goes from Charlie Brown to Twin Peaks was just shocking in the early 90s
Happy Halloween everyone! I really enjoyed the video, but I think 'Haunting: starring Polterguy' would also have been a great fit. I hope you have a lovely time with the family 🎃
Great picks! There was a game where you possess stuff in a house to chase the new tenants away. That was always one of my favs! Never owned it though and blanking on the name!
Great list. I'd like to throw in my two cents and recommend The Curse of Illmoore Bay. You play as one of 3 kids fighting ghoulies in a haunted suburbia and collecting Halloween candy along the way. It's a great platformer and it was released recently for the Genesis/MD.
Mutant League Hockey is one of my favorite sports games of all time. I love the fact you can make a team who is beating you on the scoreboard forfeit because they lose too many players due to you killing them.
@@timecop808 I also very much enjoyed Hyper Stone Heist more than the arcade version, but the bevy of extra content makes Turtles In Time the best port overall.
Sega Lord X and Game Sack are the crème de la crème of the retro gaming community, both earned a spot on my mount Rushmore… You have the ability to make long videos and keep us wanting more, never enough!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors is surprisingly very long. I had a copy decades ago, but I never finish tye game. The difficulty ramps up quickly by the fourth level ("Chainsaw Hedge Mayhem"). The password system was also both good and bad: good because they were short and allowed players to advance, but bad because they only appeared every four levels. I also had Ghostbusters. That was one of the first Genesis games I ever played. I still remember the steps and items required to beat each case and boss.

Such high quality content bro. Appreciate you to the point I just started supporting you on Patreon! You always deliver well-researched games and great gameplay footage. Very very few retro channels like yours. Thank you 🙏
Happy Halloween Sega Lord 👻🥳🎃 Never get tired of Splatterhouse 3!! It and 'Demon's Crest' on SNES are my annual October games. I'm personally interested to know what your favourite horror movies are?
Good list! Castlevania Bloodlines is one of my favorites on the Genesis! It always scratches my itch for classic 16-bit action! Another underrated "spooky" game I also recommend is The Addams Family. You travel around a spooky house as Gomez to save your family. I actually didn't know Demons of Asteborg had finally been released. I've been really looking forward to playing that one! It looks like an excellent 16-bit action game!
Solid list! I’ll definitely be playing most of these. Missing about 5 off the list. Ghostbusters, the immortal, zombies are my neighbors and the ooze. Oh and the new Demons game. I’ll add them to the collection at some point….hopefully lol
wow, you havent played ZAMN? definitely a must play, in the least you can get the roms for your PC and see if you dig the games right now. after all retro gaming is very expensive and that isnt looking to go down anytime soon.

Just finally dedicated the time to beat Splatterhouse 3, and really had a good time. The cut scenes are fantastic and it’s not too difficult to get through and get the best ending. Could’ve used a tad more enemy variety but it was certainly a great time.
Great video as always, my lord, and happy Halloween!! P.S. Just needs a bit more of the Haunting: Starring Poulterguy (a criminally underrated game, imo).
Mutant League Football has a successor in MFL available on everything now... Now we just need a MHL with mutants playing hockey again. Many of us have been waiting a long time for such.
I'm going to be on the look out for them crazy sports titles pretty sure I rented the football back in the day.was waiting on your Halloween list an u didn't let down awesome video x

Yeah surprised the The Haunting : Polterguy was not on there, it was the first game I thought of other than Zombies ate my Neighbours for me personally. The Mutant League Hockey/Football was a nice "twist" to games we normally associate with Halloween. The new release of Demons of Asteborg was a good shout but I think The Curse of Illmoore Bay is a great little side scroller platformer with horror elements.
How did you miss The Haunting starring Polterguy???
I was about to type that but seen your comment. Great game for Halloween
He included it as an honorable mention in the video description, along with a few others.
awsome game when you get the hang of it
I was waiting for it as well
Loved that game. Such a great blockbuster rental for a weekend
That bloodlines soundtrack is just on point !

There's also a rom hack called Ultimate Chakan that makes this the default. It also tones down the difficulty and makes you jump higher.
You've just educatede I had my idea about this
Ooze is kind of like an interesting pre cursor to carrion decades later.
The Haunting is another great Halloween game!
it felt, looked, sounded like an awful, crappy, dreadful, garbage, horrible, rubbish, terrible made game for 16 Mbits (megabits)
