It's worth noting the Nightmare on Elm Street has up to 4-player gameplay, where everyone plays simultaneously just like in New Super Mario Bros Wii, and was developed by Rare.
The Hell Fighter sprite looks like the main character from Prince of Persia's NES port. On the topic of 8-Bit horror games, Phantom Fighter is unique in that is plays like a 2-D fighting game more than anything else only one's enemies were powerful hopping ghosts/vampires each with their own power sets.

Didn't quite understand why castlevania wasn't covered, when castlevenia clones were lol. But I guess it is the most obvious. I have to come out and defend alien 3 on gameboy. It is very clunky. But it is surprisingly a fully fledged survival horror game on gameboy released before Resident Evil!
