Pipe Dent Removal - Fixing partially flattened Exhaust Down Pipe on 1977 MGB

Barn Finds can often be found with 4 flat tires. in those cases, the exhaust system can suffer crushing or denting.
in this video I show a method using just a threaded Rod, and some 1/2 in drive sockets to hammer out dents from pipe.

I wouldn't have thought you'd been able to advance the socket through the merge collector given how poorly it is usually welded. Congratulations on your work.

Looks like it worked well although did the alignment of the manifold flanges suffer?

Excellent observation.
Yes the alignment did suffer. I didn't notice till I had tried to install it. I was able to adjust easily by bending it back till the ends were back level with each other.
