You came out pretty nice on the trailer purchase, sure gives more options for moving equipment. Thanks for the video Sam, appreciate your time and enjoyed watching.
I did not know how intricate that lowboy trailers were, I am now better informed. This site is a breath of fresh air in today's world climate. Thank you.
I love watching you with your kid in the shop teach them real young. Great deal on the trailer with all the work you put into it over time hauling with the investment and work will pay off! 🍻
Sam I would call Talbert and get the right vin tag. If dot pulls you over and you are loaded heavy with all 4 axles down and they see the vin tag that says 35 ton and you have 50 on the trailer you’re going to have an expensive problem.
To a complete novice, driving such a trailer with a huge load is beyond scary and would require more courage than I have. Admire the experience you have with heavy hauling. You and Matt make a great team, lots of synergy there.
Appreciate the effort you put into these Sam. Content is always interesting and your "presentation" skills just keep getting better. thank you from the land down under.
The “scolloping” on that inside tyre on the middle axle is caused by stuffed shock absorbers, and yes one tyre at a time can go that way … once the scolloping starts there’s no stopping it ..
Good price on the trailer, great you're replacing the axles, good deal too. Nice Aistream trailer inside the garage. Wish mine was in an enclosed garage.
Wow, a great trailer that's new-to-you, with many uses and a bargain at the auction. That Volvo is such a fantastic piece of equipment to have for so many purposes! 👍👍👍
love watching your vids young fella , spent 47 years driving must admit i have a soft spot for the old Macks i owned a R600 with the 12 speed and then spent a bit of time logging with a super liner with an E9 and a 12 speed in her and loved it also Kenworths and CH macks and western stars . Cheers
The unit you described to test lights , i saw one in a terminal in Chicago sixty years ago mounted on a two wheeled cart . Mechanics wheeled it to trailers all over the lot .
The struggle is real!❤ the new trailer. Clint fixed a trailer for Mike a while back. He made it look easy. I don't believe would b easy or cheap to restore.
I always enjoy your content. You explain very well what you are doing and why you are doing it. Because of that I learn while watching your videos. Thank you for posting. Oh and your channel continues to grow. Congrats.
Kinda surprised about the brake chambers. Every trailer from the 90s I've pulled had spring chambers. Maybe im wrong, but i had thought spring brakes were required on trailers after late 70s or early 80s. Its a damn nice unit though! Edit: Did a search and found they are required on atleast one axle staring in 1998! So carry on, my concerns are gone!
Hi Sam, Awesome video. It's so cute to see your son come out and help you. I would love to see more of your son on the channel. Have a great weekend :)
That was quite the deal even buying new axles you still are less than they wanted before sending they sent it to Ricky Brothers. Hope you do a video of the axle swap.
Lowboys today are complicated. Wow!!!! I'm coming from hauling a lowboy in Vietnam. It was as basic as you could get compared to what you have. Sort of comparing a Model A to a Hummer. Smart move with new axels. I enjoy your channel Viewed from San Diego. What a handsome little boy.
Great explanations, even me as a total noob in big haulage things could easy follow you! I was instantly yelling at the screen that you should flip the deck section over to jetwash it... 😂👍👍👍
Nicely done my friend , I love your Mack , I drive 1989 Mack Super liner tri axle with modified 3208 Cat @675 hp straight 10'' exhaust all bells and whistles with a 10.5 ft wide 30ft long JC heavy 4 axle with rear 2 axle steer (if needed) ,I love driving my Mack with some of largest construction machines across Ontario Canada, I like that other truck you have too, Cheers from the north .
Sam I cut the end off a junk pigtail and left about 6" of wire. Then crimp on some bare butt connectors and use your battery charger to run the circuit or two if you can squeeze them.
The only way to work on an RGN trailer. Chain it to the lift and roll it to its side. 😂 We do that all the time. We use Trail King TK80ED's. TK 3 axel Jeeps and 10 foot 3 axel swivel stingers. Love them !!
You have to love Murphy's Law , they haul the trailer 10 miles down the road in the other direction and end up selling it to you for 10 grand less, sometimes people out- smart themselves. 😄
Spoke too soon glad to see that you're putting new axles on it it's a sweet trailer in a sweet deal especially for what do you want to use it for hopefully you'll be able to use it enough to pay for itself
Good deal on your new trailer! With the price you got it for you can invest some money to bring it up to the standard the inspection will pass it on. But you need to get a new manufactures plate that matches your trailer.
I am curious, since it has a 35 ton label now, does that limit you to 35 ton and not the 55 ton. I know hot DOT can be here in PA. Can you get the correct label?
I know. Watching out of order takes a minute to figure out. That said, I did get to find out the auction in the middle a bit. Seller should have come down and sold to Sam to start with. I guess auction guys need their money too. Seller gambled and lost.
Great video Sam. Not a bad deal on the trailer, but 13% fees, along with a sellers fee no doubt! Already knew you had the trailer as I saw the video of you the moving the shovel with it! 🤣🤣
Thanks for posting this, Sam. I'm looking forward to the trailer axle swaps one day. Keep up the great work. I thoroughly enjoy the videos. 👍 Announcer: "In our next episode, Sam buys an 18-axle trailer, to move 400,000 lb (181,000 kg) components for an electrical power station".
Check the webbing up in front of deck, the older Talberts were known to torch cut the holes where air lines go thru beams, they would start with a line then do a circle, they all cracked at the line and the front of the trailer would buckle with a load on. It's like they had a kid torch cutting the holes in every beam, even tho the other side had no air lines thru them. Ours was a 98 55t , we redid the whole trailer a few yrs ago and still looks new now.New I think it was 45 -50k back then. Crazy what they cost now
That’s a pretty sweet trailer, I can only imagine the stuff diesel creek can ask you to haul now.
Hah! No doubt, @junkboxgarageOG. 😄
Ha ha ha yep
Matt has his own pretty nice Mack, he just needs to borrow a trailer now and then…
😂
Very good
Had to laugh when you were mulling over whether to bid or not, and Matt immediately nodding "Yes please!"
Nodding...
He was practically DROOLING...
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
I like your style: Your smile, your videos, your commentary.
THANK YOU!
Love the sound of that Mack!
You are an old soul in a young man’s body!!! It’s great to see frugal young folk!!! Great channel. Be safe.. PS Great Family. Lots of love.
Always nice to see Matt and that is how I started watching Scrappy Industries because I seen Sam on Diesel Creek.🙂😀😃👍✨
Sam you are fantastic at explaining the importance of why and how. Then showing how you do the job. Great work
Always like your videos Sam. Always interesting, always informative. Thanks.
You came out pretty nice on the trailer purchase, sure gives more options for moving equipment. Thanks for the video Sam, appreciate your time and enjoyed watching.
Forget the epic trailer for a min, how nice is that yard and perfect grass
Thank my uncle for that. He loves nothing more than mowing grass
@@ScrappyIndustries I've been watching your channel since Matt, I like the way you just be yourself. No gimmicks or anything, fan from UK
We need a farm tour. Looks like a beautiful compound
Sam , That's quite a capable 55 ton lowboy . Your smart to replace the axles now to avoid future major issues down the road

Good point!
Yup dot doesn’t care how many axles you have , all that matters is vin /tag rating
To a complete novice, driving such a trailer with a huge load is beyond scary and would require more courage than I have. Admire the experience you have with heavy hauling. You and Matt make a great team, lots of synergy there.
Sam your mechanical skills are top notch but your positive attitude is what keeps me coming back , I do enjoy your channel..
Appreciate the effort you put into these Sam. Content is always interesting and your "presentation" skills just keep getting better. thank you from the land down under.
Boy is that the perfect western Pennsylvania day. Love the content Sam. Both you and Matt are some hardworking individuals ✌️
I will never look at another trailer driving down the road the same way again! Nice job.
Grandpa is SO PROUD OF SAM!!!! He lurnd Sam well!!!!!😉
The “scolloping” on that inside tyre on the middle axle is caused by stuffed shock absorbers, and yes one tyre at a time can go that way … once the scolloping starts there’s no stopping it ..
New shock absorbers should stop the "scolloping"
"Scolloping" caused by "Tramping"
It's fun to see how you are doing with the heavy stuff that they look pretty awesome, Thank Matt, and thank you for your efforts. You're sharing.
Sam, it is most interesting watching you work.
G’day Sam ! Love watching your videos ! From Australia! 🇦🇺 keep up the good work !
Now you constantly can bug Matt how much better that neck system system is! 😁😁😁
Good price on the trailer, great you're replacing the axles, good deal too. Nice Aistream trailer inside the garage. Wish mine was in an enclosed garage.
Looks like you’re gonna have a real sweet trailer there once you get the rehab done, good find old Sam
Wow, a great trailer that's new-to-you, with many uses and a bargain at the auction. That Volvo is such a fantastic piece of equipment to have for so many purposes! 👍👍👍
Brilliant video Sam watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧
“Ether Button”, that’s a good one!
So glad you bought the new axles! I was sitting here worrying about that leaning trailer like it was my own!
Great video.

You sir are a hard working knowledgeable DUDE!
Nice older trailer Sam. My nephew works for that company
3:14 .... 'you and the guy she says not to worry about' - took me a moment to get that one 🤣🤣🤣
I made a trailer test board last week, about $120 all in and it works great.
Piece of plywood and some bolts, circuit breakers,1/4" loops and done.
What an amazing video mate thanks for sharing this with us all great job
That was quite the deal even buying new axles you still are less than they wanted before sending they sent it to Ricky Brothers. Hope you do a video of the axle swap.

Nice Score Sam ! Thank You for Sharing
Love the videos Sam, what a small world. Use to haul a lot of gravel for Alex Paris when I drove for Mikel, about 20 yrs ago.

Nice episode my friend. Can't wait to see the axles put in...

Hey Sam. Great vid and an awesome deal! A little sweat equity and you'll have a really good trailer.
You have to love Murphy's Law , they haul the trailer 10 miles down the road in the other direction and end up selling it to you for 10 grand less, sometimes people out- smart themselves. 😄
Running tapered axles isn't going to hurt. I perfer propower axles they same to hold up little better on the ends for the heavier weights
Spoke too soon glad to see that you're putting new axles on it it's a sweet trailer in a sweet deal especially for what do you want to use it for hopefully you'll be able to use it enough to pay for itself
Hi Sam & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Sam & Friends Randy

Good job Sam! Eddie

Great video Sam. Not a bad deal on the trailer, but 13% fees, along with a sellers fee no doubt!

I don't understand this... You should have 1 million subscribers hands down. Nice job on all the videos!
Thanks for posting this, Sam. I'm looking forward to the trailer axle swaps one day. Keep up the great work. I thoroughly enjoy the videos. 👍
Announcer: "In our next episode, Sam buys an 18-axle trailer, to move 400,000 lb (181,000 kg) components for an electrical power station".
Attaboy Sam on buying new axels.
That old Superdog sounds good
Sam isn't screwing around going heavy duty all the way
