I have a 2008 Sebring hard top convertible with the 3.5. A few times, this car has had some very violent bucking during acceleration. It's hard to fix what isn't broke at the time, but this experience has made my wife not want to drive it. When it happened to me, I tried different levels of acceleration to see if I could get the car to go. Very light acceleration helped but it was now where near good enough for the wife. This is a rare occurrence but needs to be fixed to be safe.

I must have been pretty lucky. I have a 2010 Chrysler Sebring Touring with the 2.4L VVT engine. I bought it in 2012 with 36k on it, and as right now I have just under 215k. A year and a half ago, I replaced the strut assemblies at all four corners, lower ball joints, and tie rod ends. Besides the typical brake pads and rotors over the years, the only so called breakdown that I’ve had was the top radiator hose blew apart at the plastic junction where the radiator cap sits. Still gets around 30mpg when I’m not in a hurry. I’ve used nothing but full synthetic oil since I bought it, and flushed the trans shortly after hitting 100k. Still drive it to work every day.
One ghost issue that just popped up is my right front turn signal bulb won’t light up. Changed to bulb and it only lights up at half power when the parking lights are on, but goes completely out when I turn on the headlights. New bulbs didn’t fix it, and I even swapped the bulb sockets and bulbs from each side, and the right side still does that. Maybe turn signal switch on the column? Sometimes when I go to bump the lever for a 3 flash right turn, the left turn signal will light flash.
That's when it was under the Mercedes banner Chrysler corporation don't make good cars. But when it was under Mercedes it was pretty good that was before Fiat took control now they just horrible except for the V8 versions of their cars which is the best

The problem we keep having is the bushing going bad in the shift linkage. Had to replace it in 2018 (when the car was 8 yrs old) and we're having to replace it again 4 years later. We do have the actuator issue too but don't know if it's worth worrying about. Overall, it's been a decent car (bought it used in 2016). The thing I hate about this car is where the battery is located. What were they thinking?
I have a 2007 Sebring. At night when turning right the dash lights will go off temporarily. Also the wipers won't turn off unless I pull wiper control arm down (for the once swipe). Any suggestions? Thank you
You just described my issue with my wheel bearing on my 08 Grand Caravan last week. Of course I had it replaced. Now my van doesn't want to consistently start. Just clicks. The starter is 2 years old.
If it’s clicking your starter is not the problem. More than likely a loose electrical cable or battery issue. Clean your batter terminals as well...you want no corrosion.
I have a 2010 Sebring convertible and I noticed the car if I let go the wheel will pull to the right. I have rotated the tires from front to back diagonally at front end alignments it's still does it. What could it be?
None of my electric windows are working. The lock switches on the driver side don’t work, but the passenger lock switch does. Windows don’t work anywhere. Any ideas?
I’ve got new tires,balanced. Still over 55 car shimmies. Could that mean bad tie rods? Maybe bent shaft? Love my car. I don’t want to trade in my Sebring sedan 2010. One prior owner. Bought it 6 yrs ago. Has always shimmed a little. Otherwise mint condition. Only 80,000 miles still in 2021. I take good care of my car very fussy 😩
I had the same exact Sebring, color and all and it also had the same A/C Actuator problem too 😂 I was always banging on the dash and it would sometimes fix the problem 😂😂
I think more likely the tapping noise stopped on its own, as it does every time, after about 15-20 seconds, and this just coincided with your pointless banging on the dashboard

My 2007 Chrysler Sebring is falling apart.. about a month ago my horn randomly went on and would not turn off until it finally died. At the same time as the horn the windshield wipers started going and then the trunk popped open. I'm not sure what wire I pulled but now the windshield wipers don't work and the heater doesn't even work.. it actually lights up but does not come out the forces of the fan it's been raining and very cold and I'm in my car alot . It's become my home at this point so if you could help me and my dog out that'd would be amazing

I have a 07 sebring base model 2.4 basically the car doesn’t start up first try anymore and when it does it has all its power but when I put it in drive it will limit the power Acting like a limp mode and can’t go past 50mph and the check engine comes back as multiple random misfire but the motor doesn’t sound or feel like it’s missfiring ? I’ve got a 2007 Sebring 3.5 liter v6. Over heating while driving at 55mph. It also stoped blowing hot air in the cabin. When I stopped and popped the hood open the radiator fans where on. The top radiator hose was hot. That’s all the trouble shooting I did so far. Any suggestions where I should go from here.

What about window motor/assembly?? My 2007 has had BOTH SIDES front go bad! Replaced the driver side twice already, passengers side once. Now the driver side quit on me again 🤦♀️ Also my buttons on the driver side are not working properly
Very little heat comes out of the vents on mine. Both hoses to the heater core are warm not hot. The engine temp needle goes up half way when the car gets warm and stays there. Coolant level is within range. The blend doors seem to work. Where is the heater control valve if it has one?
It may fix that. My airbag light never came on, but I had the recall issue fixed shortly after getting the recall notice. No charge for it being done since it was covered by Chrysler. Have the recall taken care of. The only thing you’ll be out is your time without your car. Mine took them a day to get to it. Dropped it off on morning and picked it up the next.
No you don’t need fresh air from the outside you just open a window, mine broke so I took my whole dash apart in my 2004 Ram 1500 and also pulled the blower motor and made that door permanent so it can’t open or close works great.
Having issues with my radio cutting out with no sound coming from the speakers just just crackling noises and this happened after replacing the struts on the car. Wondering if it’s likely the radio or if a ground wire could’ve been effected when replacing struts. Any advice will help! 2007 Sebring touring 2.7L
I just got a 2010 Chrysler Sebring touring model which is a convertible. Also. The convertible top won't go back. It says malfunction but all the windows and everything else will go down and then they'll go back up when I go to put it back. I do have a problem with the directional air actuator that you just talked about in this episode, so I guess I need to get a new one of those when I turn my blinker on to make a right turn. My dash lights will either brighten up or dim which is for my gauges and all that. Have not a clue what is up with that and I have a rough sounding noise when I go to take off when I let off the throttle a little bit. Then it sounds normal. If you kind of got an idea about what I'm asking and we're talking about, I would appreciate as much advice as you can give me... Have a 2010 Sebring seems to hesitate a little about 60 to 70 mph and the other day has a red lighting bolt show up on the dash and the lights seem to dim a little in the cab when say I roll up the window all the way
Mine is a 2003 Limited convertible, bought at 72k miles in 2006; 2.7 flex engine. It has been great. From the day I got it, the dash lights only came on when they felt like it. now, at 118k, they almost never come on. I'd like to fix that myself, if my bad back allows. The tranny didn't leak a drop for years - until I had a 'service' done - then it leaked 34 QUARTS in a year (3k miles). The driver door is rusting badly at the bottom - as I've seen on several other Sebrings. I'm guessing there are clogged drain holes. My new problem is the water outlet box (?) split in half minutes after an oil change. The new housing is $73 and a tech wants $110 to flush & diagnose the system. I'll be doing it myself!
Not to get off track,i have an 05 Sebring convertible, with the 2.7, and im a stickler on keeping my fluids clean, especially the oil.oil ports are small and can clog if oil is too dirty.the dealership knows i dont put 3000 miles on oil.if i have 50 or 100 miles on the it, it still gets changed in 3 months. Every 2 yrs. For other fluids,even tramission. I only have 22,000 miles on it. Still smells new. I guess sebrings are becoming collectibles. Saw a antique care seller, with 5 different stores, and they had 2 of them on their lots.my dealership is bugging me to death, about selling it. I tell them no not interested. I don't take this out in rain,or snow.the body and underneath stll looks like new,
My friend has a Chrysler Sebring convertible 2008. It started having a problem with the rear passenger side turn signal burning out quite often and she kept replacing the bulb. Eventually the rear driver side turn signal started doing the same thing. She went to the auto parts store to get a replacement socket and the ones they had were too big. They told her that they stopped making the part for her car. Any suggestions about what can be done to fix this problem?
08 Sebring I have no head lights tail lights blinkers. I have one auto light that come on and a front left blinker and a back right blinker that's all I have working would changing the multi switch fix that issue.

I had recently purchased a 2005 Chrysler Sebring 4 door sedan 2.4l 4 cylinder I want to say it's the base model. I've replaced the crank shaft position sensor, spark plug wires, new battery, checked my fuses, and relays. I still can't figure out what's going on. the car won't go over 36 mph, it's almost like it's in limp mode. the one time i actually had it above 36 mph, it didnt seem like it wanted to shift, if there is anyone that could help me out, i sure would greatly appreciate it.

It's simple take off black plastic motor cover off top of motor,.disconnect negative battery cable!Only a couple bolts and pulley tentioner.check serpentine belt for cracks best to change it there's a belt diagram under hood .youtube or Google it.saves you alot of money! It's a quick100-200.00. profit.I did mine then had 4 other friends and we're happy not to pay shop prices.

Was driving down the HWY, battery light came on. Car seemed to even get more quiet once this happened. Drove approximately 7-10 miles to home. Turned the car off, didn't need to go anywhere for the rest of the evening so the car sat overnight. Next afternoon tried to start, nothing. Tried to jump start, lights came on but still wouldn't start. Mechanic changed battery, still wouldn't turn over. It acted like it wanted to but Mechanic said it was the starter. Mechanic changed starter, at his shop. Now he's saying my motor is locked up. Said he tried to turn crank shift, would only turn 1 full turn and lock up again, front or backwards. It seems there was an odor of possibility something burning electrical after arriving home on 1st day and after battery was changed, tried to start. I am at wits end. Mechanic is trying to tell me to just get new car? WTH, he also says that he hooked it to computer, it is telling him nothing? What do you recommend? 2010 Chrysler Sebring touring.

Yeah no kidding. It’s my buddy’s car and it has been one thing after another the last month or 2 with this damned thing. I will never on a Chrysler because of it and you’ll never own another one. They put the battery in the damn wheel well for god sake’s. You have to take the wheel off and some shrouding just to get to it and they put the negative side too far away for you to get to.

Hey man I have 2010 Chrysler Sebring and when I turn it on it almost sounds like rod knock and when it idles the sound goes not away but it quiets down a lot, and when I am driving and stop at a stop sign or red light it starts jerking and try’s to die on me, any ideas ?

I have a 07 sebring base model 2.4 basically the car doesn’t start up first try anymore and when it does it has all its power but when I put it in drive it will limit the power Acting like a limp mode and can’t go past 50mph and the check engine comes back as multiple random misfire but the motor doesn’t sound or feel like it’s missfiring ? Could this be the throttle body having issues or fuel pump needs to be replaced ?
Any troubleshooting for a no crank / start ? Checked battery is good and starter and fuses all good . Car is lost power completely doesn't even click or show any lights when key turn like it's lost all power

I have a battery light on my dash. I checked the battery voltage and it is the correct voltage. The belt to the alternator is set at the correct tension. All wires to the battery and alternator are secure, clean and in good condition. What other issues may cause the battery light to turn on my 2010 Chrysler Sebring? Thanks in advance!

I’ve got a 2007 Sebring 3.5 liter v6. Over heating while driving at 55mph. It also stoped blowing hot air in the cabin. When I stopped and popped the hood open the radiator fans where on. The top radiator hose was hot. That’s all the trouble shooting I did so far. Any suggestions where I should go from here.

Change your thermostats....there are 2 in this stupid car
@@eddiewhittington9687 We did that a few months ago. It was fairly easy to replace the entire housing with the two thermostats. If this mom can do it in the dark with the assistance of her 23 yrs old son, anyone can do it.

What about window motor/assembly?? My 2007 has had BOTH SIDES front go bad! Replaced the driver side twice already, passengers side once. Now the driver side quit on me again 🤦♀️ Also my buttons on the driver side are not working properly

Very little heat comes out of the vents on mine. Both hoses to the heater core are warm not hot. The engine temp needle goes up half way when the car gets warm and stays there. Coolant level is within range. The blend doors seem to work. Where is the heater control valve if it has one?

Most reliable car I've ever owned & witnessed personally. BUT. The electric system is weak. A simple dead battery turns into a huge electrical issue.
So is there a recall about the airbag light on that's on my cluster board for 2010 chrysler sebring?
It may fix that. My airbag light never came on, but I had the recall issue fixed shortly after getting the recall notice. No charge for it being done since it was covered by Chrysler. Have the recall taken care of. The only thing you’ll be out is your time without your car. Mine took them a day to get to it. Dropped it off on morning and picked it up the next.

No you don’t need fresh air from the outside you just open a window, mine broke so I took my whole dash apart in my 2004 Ram 1500 and also pulled the blower motor and made that door permanent so it can’t open or close works great.

Having issues with my radio cutting out with no sound coming from the speakers just just crackling noises and this happened after replacing the struts on the car. I just got a 2010 Chrysler Sebring touring model which is a convertible. Also. The convertible top won't go back. It says malfunction but all the windows and everything else will go down and then they'll go back up when I go to put it back. I do have a problem with the directional air actuator that you just talked about in this episode, so I guess I need to get a new one of those when I turn my blinker on to make a right turn. My dash lights will either brighten up or dim which is for my gauges and all that. Have not a clue what is up with that and I have a rough sounding noise when I go to take off when I let off the throttle a little bit. Then it sounds normal. If you kind of got an idea about what I'm asking and we're talking about, I would appreciate as much advice as you can give me... Thank you for your help in your time and I love watching all your episodes. It is very informative and makes things a little easier on where to start!!!!

Have a 2010 Sebring seems to hesitate a little about 60 to 70 mph and the other day has a red lighting bolt show up on the dash and the lights seem to dim a little in the cab when say I roll up the window all the way
Mine is a 2003 Limited convertible, bought at 72k miles in 2006; 2.7 flex engine. It has been great. From the day I got it, the dash lights only came on when they felt like it. now, at 118k, they almost never come on. I'd like to fix that myself, if my bad back allows. The tranny didn't leak a drop for years - until I had a 'service' done - then it leaked 34 QUARTS in a year (3k miles).
The driver door is rusting badly at the bottom - as I've seen on several other Sebrings. I'm guessing there are clogged drain holes. My new problem is the water outlet box (?) split in half minutes after an oil change. The new housing is $73 and a tech wants $110 to flush & diagnose the system. I'll be doing it myself!

Not to get off track,i have an 05 Sebring convertible, with the 2.7, and im a stickler on keeping my fluids clean, especially the oil.oil ports are small and can clog if oil is too dirty.the dealership knows i dont put 3000 miles on oil.if i have 50 or 100 miles on the it, it still gets changed in 3 months. Every 2 yrs. For other fluids,even tramission. I only have 22,000 miles on it. Still smells new. I guess sebrings are becoming collectibles. Saw a antique care seller, with 5 different stores, and they had 2 of them on their lots.my dealership is bugging me to death, about selling it. I tell them no not interested. I don't take this out in rain,or snow.the body and underneath stll looks like new,

My friend has a Chrysler Sebring convertible 2008. It started having a problem with the rear passenger side turn signal burning out quite often and she kept replacing the bulb. Eventually the rear driver side turn signal started doing the same thing. She went to the auto parts store to get a replacement socket and the ones they had were too big. They told her that they stopped making the part for her car. Any suggestions about what can be done to fix this problem?

I had recently purchased a 2005 Chrysler Sebring 4 door sedan 2.4l 4 cylinder I want to say it's the base model. I've replaced the crank shaft position sensor, spark plug wires, new battery, checked my fuses, and relays. I still can't figure out what's going on. the car won't go over 36 mph, it's almost like it's in limp mode. the one time i actually had it above 36 mph, it didnt seem like it wanted to shift, if there is anyone that could help me out, i sure would greatly appreciate it.

It's simple take off black plastic motor cover off top of motor,.disconnect negative battery cable!Only a couple bolts and pulley tentioner.check serpentine belt for cracks best to change it there's a belt diagram under hood .youtube or Google it.saves you alot of money! It's a quick100-200.00. profit.I did mine then had 4 other friends and we're happy not to pay shop prices.

Was driving down the HWY, battery light came on. Car seemed to even get more quiet once this happened. Drove approximately 7-10 miles to home. Turned the car off, didn't need to go anywhere for the rest of the evening so the car sat overnight. Next afternoon tried to start, nothing. Tried to jump start, lights came on but still wouldn't start. Mechanic changed battery, still wouldn't turn over. It acted like it wanted to but Mechanic said it was the starter. Mechanic changed starter, at his shop. Now he's saying my motor is locked up. Said he tried to turn crank shift, would only turn 1 full turn and lock up again, front or backwards. It seems there was an odor of possibility something burning electrical after arriving home on 1st day and after battery was changed, tried to start. I am at wits end. Mechanic is trying to tell me to just get new car? WTH, he also says that he hooked it to computer, it is telling him nothing? What do you recommend? 2010 Chrysler Sebring touring.

Yeah no kidding. It’s my buddy’s car and it has been one thing after another the last month or 2 with this damned thing. I will never on a Chrysler because of it and you’ll never own another one. They put the battery in the damn wheel well for god sake’s. You have to take the wheel off and some shrouding just to get to it and they put the negative side too far away for you to get to.
