One of my favorite songs and your message was wonderful, ty. Love how fluid your soap batter was as well as the colors. Thanks for sharing, I may have to give hp another try.
You make such great videos and always have the prettiest soaps. What's even better is you have the heart to match it. I'm so proud of you and all you do.
Thank you!!! It wasn't the original song I picked, youtube muted it, so I went with what the recommended. I wish now I'd had just left it silent lol. I feel like so many people missed the video itself because they were put off by the music :-(
Hi I just loved your video. Wonderfully done! I did a batch yesterday, putting in SL and sugar in the water then the lye and at the end of the cook adding some maple syrup and it came out wonderful but I was thinking of trying a milk soap and doing half the water at the beginning and then the other half liquid (milk), being put in after the cook (having the milk be warm but not too hot). Then just before I was ready to go to bed I happened to find this video of yours. Sooooo glad I did. Thank You. I can't believe it. Wonderful song, by the way, so perfect for background. Your colors are shiiiinnnninnnng sooo bright!!Thank you for sharing your rainbow..........
Thank you so much Patty!!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. There is just something about this song that gets me, especially at this stage in my life, it makes me view things much differently. I'd love to see pics of your creations, I bet they are lovely!!! Much love. to you and yours and always remember, don't ever let anyone dim you're light or dull your colors, you are beautiful!!!!....... Kari
Thank you so much!! I really enjoyed making this one. I had forgotten the depth of the words in this song. I think this is something we all need to remember about ourselves and others around us :-)
Once again, fantastic (and I think we may have been separated at birth, at least in the music arena ;) ) I much enjoy your videos..... These colors are spectacular!
Thank you so much!!!! The next one will be quite opposite but I think you'll love it :-) Opposite in genre I should have said lol. if you like the next one, then it'll be obvious that we were indeed separated. Thank you so much for always seeing the beauty, it comes from your eyes and your heart
People are super harsh in the comment section about the music, i think it’s really snazzy haha. Thanks for posting this! It was super helpful. I have a question regarding adding milks/yogurts at the end of the cook. They don’t affect the aging of the bar? Would I run the risk of it going rancid/bad earlier than if I had left it out? Bacterial is it safe as well? Thank you so much!
Keila Bean hi there!! I have not experienced any rancidity at all. Just be sure to discount the water in the beginning and add the remaining in yogurt after cook. Thank you for your kind words ❤️❤️
This was fantastic! May I ask what the difference is between your HP and normal HP? Yours is so liquid and pourable! Is there a link for directions on how to use this method? Please send me to the right link to read up on this! Thanks so much! Love your tatz! Hugz, Tree
Hi there!! I held back some of the fluid until after cook and I believe I also added coconut or hemp milk. I change up my technique quite often lol. If you are on facebook I have a group geared towards HP soap, there are many Fantastic soap makers in there who could help guide you to the technique you would be most comfy using. Thank you so much for the kind words
Hi I love your videos. I'm trying this method and its just not working out well for me. What temperature are you adding everything? Do you add it right when it volcanoes? for me right after the volcano stage when I keep whisking waiting for it to cool down it goes right into full vaseline stage. My temp was at 220 degrees while mixing
Hi there and thank you!!! this is actually hot process with part of the fluids held out until after cook. I use about half my fluid to mix 2.5% sugar and then when it's dissolved, I add the lye. I cook like normal and add the remainder of the fluid at the end with another 2.5% sugar. Some people use yogurt, I don't, not because I think there is anything wrong, but because my soap is vegan. Try to stir as little as possible to keep the moisture in. Hemp and coconut milk are really good the use in the place of water at the end, oh and I only use 38% liquids total. I hope this helps ya :-)
So you use your regular recipe and add 5% of sugars and replace some of the water with milks? also is it 5% of the total batch or 5% of the water lye solution or 5% of the oils? thanks a lot!
yes this helps. I guess my main question is do you everything when it starts to volcano? I added half my lye water with the oils at 220 degres. literallt 2min after it got to thick trace it volcanoed 3 times stirred it down a few more minutes it went into full vaseline stage
No ma'am, I stir the volcano down and then put the lid back on. When in completely gelled I then add the remainder of the fluid and SF. Oh also, be sure to keep everything warm/hot, meaning remainder of the fluid and SF. If it's too cool it'll start to clump up and get thick. even premixing mica in oil or glycerin and adding will help keep that fluid consistency. sometimes it's a little more fluid than others but it's definitely easier to work with than conventional HP :-)
You didn't use all the soap. There was still plenty left in the containers. There were words to the song? I read further down the comments and I guess the tune you originally used was True Colors, which You Tube muted. This song, Blue Bossa, was your replacement tune. It sounded like instrumental jazz to me, but it does have lyrics. I love research - I found it: BLUE BOSSA Music by Kenny Dorham Lyrics by Joan Cartwright A place inside my heart Is where you live Memories of our start The love you give Days when we’re alone And you are in my arms The blueness of the trueness of our love Nights of moonlit skies A gentle kiss Something in your eyes Fills me with bliss Hold me in your arms And then I will recall The blueness of the trueness of our love The thought of how we met Still lingers on How can I forget That magic dawn All the warm desire The fire in your touch The blueness of the trueness of our love
I was working very fast because the soap was starting to cool so when I got done I scraped what was left and made a soap ball for myself lol. I hated that UA-cam muted my song, it was so perfect :-(
So, if im using 10oz of oil (using this amount because its easy for me to calculate in my head lol) would I use 2.5 oz of sugar?..Thanking you in advance, love your video, thanks for sharing.
mona polk hi there!! I typically use about 3% sugar in lye water. If you are using 10oz of oil, .3oz would be the amount of sugar. You don't wanna go much high because sugar creates heat and it'll get hot super fast if you use too much. I hope this helps ya and happy soaping!!!!!! 😁
You are very welcome! I am more of a CP girl but I absolutely love making HP this way, it almost seems a little more gratifying lol. If you aren't already a member I have a Facebook group called Down Home CP/HP/Fluid HP Soapmaking, I'd love for you to join so we can see your creations :-)
Anonymous Von you are most welcome and thank YOU!! I’m sorry about the obnoxious music in the background lol. I can’t figure out how to mute it from a mobile device 🤣
SunRise Arts & Crafts It still needs a normal cure time :-) I know there are some that say you don't , but in my experience you always need a cure time
can anybody tell me what did I do wrong on my soap? I though hot process is good to use the next day or two. But when I use he soap the next day it was kind of burn on y face. What did I o wrong? I waited for like 30 minutes and stir, then waited another 20 minutes stir and waited for another 20 minutes then pour into my mould, waited next day cut, and try one and it burn.
lienpni1 did you make sure your soap was completely saponified before you put it into the mold? sometimes HP can take quite a while depending on the temps used. also, did you run your recipe through a lye calculator?
Should have used a lye calculator (to get amounts right for oils and lye), cooked the batter for at least 45 minutes, and checked using either PH strips or the zap test before pouring into molds.
Kim Howell thank you for the input!! It isn’t for everyone, it wasn’t my initial choice but UA-cam made me change it. I hope you did at least enjoy the soap making aspect of it :-)
Subscribed! Thank you for sharing your video for True Colors soap - great colors and liked the music too! - Melissa.
The soap turned out beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Had to mute to enjoy this.

Not a fan of the music video! You do such a great job of explaining! Soapers need more good videos! You got this! Please do more!

Monica Schultz yes ma'am that is correct :-) Can you please resend your join request? I click the wrong dang thing lol
can you do this method with Castille soap.

Down Home Soap N Stuff Thank you!
Where did you get your Pink Stick Blender From?
Daveeda Jane Brown hi there!! I got it from Bed Bath and Beyond about 6 years ago 😀
Did you freeze this soap? colors are pretty
Deana Jenkins Yes ma'am I did for a few hours
Hi! I wanna know after how many hours, days or weeks could I use the soap using FHPM? Thanks a lot!
Hi!! I would still give it a normal cure time, test a little piece in about 2 weeks. I cure about 4 weeks :-)
I’m confused! What is the difference between CP and FHPM if it has to cure about 4 weeks? :)
it is Hot Process but a fluid consistency. All soap needs a cure time to allow excess water to evaporate.
Thank you very much! Your answer helps me a lot!

oohhh...ok is there a difference between "gel" stage and "vaseline" stage?
I don't not believe so :-) I'd still zap test but generally that is when it is done.
How long did your soap cure?
Thank you for asking!! It was a 4 week cure
@@downhomesoapnstuff8105 thank you for responding. I am a new soap maker, I hope one day to be able to create beautiful soaps like you.
Anonymous Von you are most welcome and thank YOU!! I’m sorry about the obnoxious music in the background lol. I can’t figure out how to mute it from a mobile device 🤣
I tried this, and my soap is still soft after 2 days! What did I do wrong?
SunRise Arts & Crafts It still needs a normal cure time :-) I know there are some that say you don't , but in my experience you always need a cure time
Nice cameral views!

Ummm, sing along? There are no words. lmao
Daisy Ann UA-cam muted my original song lol, so I went with what they gave me :-)
Never will be a fan of the music
Kim Howell thank you for the input!! It isn’t for everyone, it wasn’t my initial choice but UA-cam made me change it. I hope you did at least enjoy the soap making aspect of it :-)
