This bike was purchased at an auction with parts only title and couldn't be registered, that's why all parts were transferred to a different frame. Part 2 • BOBBER BUILD Suzuki S4...
Looking great. Thanks for sharing the process. Got myself a gz250 this past weekend. Was a trainer bike for a major HD dealer. Clean as new 12/96 model .
When ya get a dent like that, you need to lightly remove the stress around the edges while pushing from inside (or behind, on a car panel.) Done lots of 'em. The Suzuki LS40 (formerly called "Savage," changed the name to "Boulevard" cuz it wasn't very savage) now has some aftermarket support -- badly-needed hotter cams, etc. Loved mine, but when I owned one there were no aftermarket goodies for it. I trashed the damn vacuum carbs and went with a Mikuni flat-slide, and a less-restrictive muffler. Hey, lookin' good so far!
A lot of people asking why am I switching frames? This bike was purchased at an auction as a parts bike and could not be registered, so we are putting all parts on another frame that has a title, with same year, make and model.
Great swap..Its yours so my opiniin is just that..my opinion.doesnt mean shit.lolAnyway the all black looks cool but I had to have a few things break up the total black..Volar Gold Chain and atleast wrap or spray the tank and rear bobbed fender a dark Cranberry type metallic.not sure if u removed the front fender...havent seen it all yet..Just a few small things with colour REALLY stand out aggressively!! Nice bike to build for a friend though!! Cheers!
I know I'm hella late but I'm trying to decide what bike to get, I want a bobber and I'm gonna build it my self I'm just not sure what bike to get so these videos help me choose
Hey man, Could you tell me what size la Rosa seat you used? I love the way you mounted it . It looks very nice. Also I like that you didn't cut the frame. Thanks
Hello man. Nice project. I am turning my CXM250 into a bobber as well. I just wanted to ask if painting the cylinders make the engine overheat? They are aircooled afterall...
Fender and handlebars are from rycamotors.com its z-bars 4 or 6 inch high i don't remember, I also got 2" risers for these bars, be sure to watch part 2 thanks
First i wanted to use epoxy primer but then i found this industrial satin enamel that goes directly to metal, so i decided to give it a shot, i sanded the chrome with 400 grit and sprayed right over it, still holds after few years.
The LS40, by any name, and in any form, is a great bike; simple and fun. Look forward to seeing the finished version, here!
