Ever thought of doing an open meet and trying some high jump or long jump for fun? Ik u did hj in the past, but looks like your long jump could be good too.
Mannnn I miss high jump a lot but long jump I’ve never messed with too much. I know the landing was always difficult for me. I’m not sure I have quite the speed to be good at it?
@@JohnEvans if you miss it, I encourage you to give it a go. Could give you some fun benchmarks to try and improve on and I'd be really interested in seeing it. Altho I dunno how it works in the US haha. And you might not be fast enough to get much further than 6m, but I personally reckon it's great for training single leg take off to handle higher forces and speeds.
I see a lot of one foot jumpers, jumping in running shoes and stuff I can jump high off one but it hurts my toes and my shoes fit properly but if I jump in running shoes it doesn’t hurt my toes, any thoughts?
I fixed mine by stopping squatting for a while, if it hurts, and no glute stretches - then release TFL with a hard small ball, stretch it. 5x 30-45 sec ISO pushes against a velcro strap around upper calves, standing, at 70-80% effort. Your glute medius should scream. Did these daily, sometimes twice a day. Then I did lying side leg raises, with ankle weights, slow tempo, 3 sets to near failure, 2-3 a week. Later, lateral lunges, crab walk with a flat band around knees Took a few months before it was fully healed.
@@sobhannouri Mine was pretty bad, the pain was like someone stabbing me on my right IT band when I tried to squat, or push off into a LR plant jump. I was limping for a while. So if yours is not as bad, you should recover much faster. I also used a massage ball on the area later on against the wall. And lots of standing side leg raises. basically tight TFL overworked pulling on the IT band due to weak glute medius, and tendinopathy on the glute medius tendon
This video really highlights the importance of having a good environment for training!
Makes a HELL of a difference to say the least especially with dunking
@@JohnEvans with anything output related! It's really like steroids for outputs
John, your dunks looked fucking sick this session
To be honest… I thought so so too 😂 - I was going off

5:25 looks like a jumpman wesner clip.
Hahaha, dude, I was so close to the camera and jimmy and richard were laughing about it
John, were you well-rested before this session or was it during the middle of a very intense training cycle?
That easy bay attempt was insane
I wanted to destroy it 😂
Hi John! What is your standing reach?
Any idea why I would get a sharpish pain on the inside of the knee on squats? Never used to.
To be more specific, maybe between the medial condyle
Mmmmm- that sounds like it could be meniscus I would squat deep through pain
@@JohnEvans if I squat deep through pain my knee swells up the next day and is more painful
eastbay attempt was crazy
🔥🔥🔥

Is the 3-Month program customized/updated for every client?
For full service, yep!
While doing jumping how do i reduce cartilage damage for longevity
Don’t push through unacceptable pain
By years end the shit is going to be crazy 😭😭😭😭😭
This was enough to make me want to work on my one foot
It’s underrated

Dude I can't wait
5:40 dammmmn 😵🥲
John do you have any experience of IT band pain??, i just got it for 3 weeks now and it's kinda stoping me from max effort stuff 😮💨
Crying about it. But it’s okay. And yeah I’d look up banded abduction and see if that helps
