I watched this video before I feel asleep, the next morning i woke up and dunked on a double rim Edit- it took a couple of tries but I think it’s all about the technique and the mindset that u can do it.
Spot on. A lot of people can dunk & have the athleticism to dunk & don't even know it. It comes down to mobility .. a in-shape core & a trained mindset. No matter your height. Once you're able to dunk one time it comes naturally & effortlessly.
When I was in college this guy on the basketball team was 6' 4" and had a 41" vertical. Its was amazing to see him on the layup line. However, he was a 4 ppg career scorer. Dunking is worth only two points....work on the rest of your game.
Yes you are right but it's still good for the defenders to know you are a threat down there to get the easy pass some of the best can dunk and some of the best can't expand your game
Im a 6’ with a 30 inch vert, just got into basketball. Imma try all that for a year and leave and give an update EVERY WEEKS ! Im fully committed to this.
Week 0 : -Went to my local park and tried to dunk with a Tennis ball and succeeded (it was a good exercise to work 1st and the ultimate step). -Tried dunking with my actual basketball without success, my fingers ended up bleeding from hitting the rim for 1 hour, so imma keep working on my vert and sticks to pylos for now, i will also mesure that rim, i doubt its 10ft tall
Week 1 : i pushed it to hard on week 0 😭 i was in pain, couldn’t jump for 5 days so i did pylos and stretches instead (don’t go crazy right off the bat) I also changed my diet to loose weight, im on a crazy calorie deficit. Week 2 : found out im a one foot jumper, i keep doing all the exercises, I also bought actual hooper shoes (i was hooping in AF1’s) Week 3 : GOT MY FIRST DUNK -Off 1 foot with 1 hand, I’ve lost 2.5 lbs since week 1, it might have helped. (I weighed 175 when i started) -Im thinking of posting my 4 weeks progress and my exercises on an ig account (let me know) Still wanna dunk with both hands so imma keep grinding
Nice video I’m trying to work on my regular dunk right now I just started dunking 9.5 ft and now I’m working on 10ft and I’m starting to grab 10ft but i definitely want to learn how to dunk of 1 foot to me it just looks so much cleaner
Damn this is the best advice I’ve found. I got my first dunk today! It was ugly and I barely got the ball in but it was a dunk. Jumping of one foot from further out helped so much more than I expected⛹🏻♂️
My main problem is the grip of the ball it’s been times where I can absolutely slam it in but others where the ball comes out my hands I can grab rim with two hands but still can’t dunk constantly
I was able to take off with 1 and dunk with 2 hands, but I always found knee problems keeping me from being where I want to be. Patellar tendinitis to be exact. I haven’t been able to really jump since October cause I’ve never had time to recover.
I’m 6’3 and can dunk but not consistently and only really well off lobs. I barely make 1 foot dunks and my 2 foot is still lacking hopefully this will help me I’ll keep you posted.
Lets say you have 7-8 inch long hands and 8'3 standing reach that means you only need 27.5 inch vert to dunk that is a realy small vertical jump so just do some workouts for increasing vertical so good luck!
Oh really, I have been training the jump for two years, working with weight. I do jumps with a bar 40-45 kilograms, lunges, do separate exercises for the calf muscles. My height is 5.75 feet (175cm), but I jump to the ring once ...
I'm 6'2'' and until few days ago I couldn't touch the backboard. Some trying with friends tips I've got to touch it 3 times trying almost 2 hours full I think its the highlight of the this year in basketball for me. Looking to improve here , I sometimes feel a somehow fear when I jump. Friends are saying sometimes that I'm not even trying but it feels like I'm giving my best , I don't know may be this is going to give me some insight. Hopefully will be able to touch rim soon Oh yeah, also 2 feet jump seems really hard can't do it Thanks, if you are still reading these
Artur Orlov I’m in the same position but I have no goal to practice on due to the quarantine. I’ve just been jump roping and doing plyometrics to try and increase my vert as much as possible. I’ll be dunking by the end of quarantine for sure. Hopefully that’s sooner rather than later
It's your style of jumping, search :"speed 1 ft jumpers vs power 1 ft jumpers", you would see that "power jumpers" usually drag the tip of their back foot toe on the ground in final steps
I can dunk a small ball on 10 feet and hang or rim easily but I can’t dunk a regulation size ball should I just keep dunking with smaller ball and eventually my vert will go up too dunk a regulation size ball
Tomorrow is my last basketball game as a senior and I haven’t got a dunk yet, I can dunk in warmups sometimes and when I do I get really high up but can never get one in a game. My leg always buckled under all that pressure and I don’t know why
I would love like really love if you could make a video on how to land on one leg if your a one foot jumper I always see two foot but I want to learn one
Just do a whole lot of jumping. Standing broad jumps, box jumps, ,high knee jumps... Also work on your speed approaching a dunk attempt. The faster the better. Try practicing with something heavier than a basketball when attempting a dunk because the faster you raise the ball the more momentum you'll have thus increasing your vert. Do 5 times the amount of jumping you're doing now and in about 6 months you'll see a major improvement. Be patient.
I keep messing up on the actual run up/foot work trying to do one leg dunks. Its like im tripping over my self i dont know how to explain it any tips would be greatly appreciated
not just one if not two I am 13 years old and at 15 or 16 I want to dunk it at 3.05 What exercises do I need to do that I should eat in order to stay in physical shape?

Callumd646 can you dunk
osu! ye can u?
Did it work?
e z was able to hold on with 2 hands but then fucked my back so i have been out for a year😢😢
one great tip is to tell yourself that the knee on the foot that comes up as you jump has to hit the rim
This is actually some damn good advice
this is actually good cause your aiming for 2 things, dunk and the knee
is it okay that my right leg coming up being almost in flat position and only then starts bending and driving knee up? (jumping off of my left)
This comment was more helpful to me than this whole video above
Just remember to bring that foot back down,
so you don’t d rose yourself

dunking is still good tho
milton wade he probably had a fuck ton of rebounds. If you can dunk, then you’re either tall or have hops, both help with rebounding
I agree dunking is only 2 points but to be able to potentially get a in game dunk puts your confidence on a hundred
Yes you are right but it's still good for the defenders to know you are a threat down there to get the easy pass some of the best can dunk and some of the best can't expand your game
But it’s the best way to shake up the other team, especially in high school where there not tooooo much of it
