This is actually a better idea than a wrap up, reading too fast can make a book lose its... how do I put this... PAZZAZZ!! It's different if you are naturally a quick reader tho. Sometimes you just need to SLOW DOWN and smell the roses
I think i haven't discovered a booktube channel that was so amazing. You have so much positive energy your videos are energetic and so funny. I love this channel and thank you for putting your heart into it, you can notice how much work you put into this channel. Thank you😊❤
Yessss! I love unlikeable characters so I NEED to pick up sleeping giants 😄 Also I totally get you on wrap ups! I stopped doing them too because they became so overwhelming to do every month. 😅
I can't help but notice how your reads have become more varied and diversified. Keep it up. It's very nice (and hopeful) to see big Booktubers talking about different kinds of books and not just new releases or sponsored ones.
Charlie Theis I was thinking the same thing! But that happened to me yesterday when Mockingjay came before Catching Fire on my shelf and I freaked! Lol
I love the way you talk about these books. Like, you say what you didn't like about them, but you do it in a way where it's more on the side of constructive criticism - if that makes any sense. And then you also say good things about the book. Love that. Too many people like to straight up bash books. I like seeing open minded reviewers :-)
A new jessethereader video every Sunday???? YASSSSSSS OMG WHAT A BLESSING -also it's slightly annoying me that you have Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows the wrong way round on your shelf :P-
i love these mini reviews instead of wrap ups, reminds me of ariel bissets book reviews series which i looove. its nice to not have to pressure yourself to read so much per month
the sleeping giants book is so PRETTY i love all the colors and now i want to read it thanks for that. also i've wanted to read the house on mango street for FOREVER so i'm glad you thought it was great MAYBE I WILL READ IT SOON. I also didn't know that it was a lot of different stories in one which is a format i loooove.
I read "The House on Mango Street" in high school for a Creative Writing class, and I absolutely loved it. I hope I can find a copy of it to be able to have in my collection. Thank you for reminding me of this amazing book Jesse. :)
This video seemed a bit more casual and chatty while still really effectively getting across your thoughts and feelings on the books which I LOVED! Looking forward to more of these in the future :)
This video made me so happy and was so refreshing! I love reviews & hearing more in-depth thoughts about books, and you pick up so many interesting stories! Wrap-ups really do put so much pressure on feeling like we need to read more, taking it easy and reading what you want, when you want is way more fun (also adding "oh my lanta santa" into my vocabulary right now immediately 😂 )
I think this is a great idea! I totally get you about feeling the pressure to read faster and faster because you know you have 28 days to make an impressive list of books for your wrap up. I ultimately still love doing month to month wrap ups but this did make me wonder!! Looks like you had a great reading month, even if quite a few of those books didn't quite hit the mark!
Ahh, I loved Seconds! I read it earlier this year and now it's one of my all time favorites. I borrowed it from the library, but I really need to pick up my own copy.
i recently read the house on mango street too! i feel the exact same about it as much as you. i loved the writing and it's definitely a book that i appreciate and will probably reread, even though i don't really feel like it's a favorite??? definitely felt punched in the gut by some of the vignettes (especially sally)
I'm currently in the middle of Sleeping Giants and I agree with most of your thoughts so far. The exploding gift analogy is especially a good one... Haha. I really like this style of video as well!
I have been reading the magician king which is the second book in the magician book series. Adding more books to my never ending tbr. Your vids make my day. Luv you.
since u said that miss peregrine's home for peculiar children is ur fav and a great book, I decided to buy it!!! I brought it yesterday and I'm so excited to read it!
I read The House on Mango Street for a college English class and LOVED IT! It faintly reminded me of one of my all-time favorites, Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. I think you might like it! It's definitely middle grade if not younger. But it hits you in the feels.
Hey Jesse, I just read BYLTHM and I wanted you to know I really liked your piece on death and it made me tear up reading it. I thought it was very real and genuine.
I really love this new idea, it does really seem sometimes that wrap ups have big expectations and this kinda makes you free of these month boundaries, also really love how critical you are, it is often people say they love the book so much but give only 3 stars, like waaat? So I am super glad you don't do it and instead explain why its 3,5 and not 5 and so on :)
I just came back from vacation, so of course I immediately need to catch up on my jessethereader videos. I missed watching videos from my favorite youtuber
I've just finished the first book in The Gone Series by Michael Grant and it is probably one of my favorite books ever! and I've just started A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab.
I just finished reading the Bane Chronicles. I've been rereading all of the Shadowhunter's Chronicles so I can remember everything before I start Lord of Shadows.
Hurrah! I would feel the same way, if I had to do a wrap up video every month. I'm so glad you've found a workable compromise that feels "right" for you and I'm looking forward to hearing your bookish opinions. =D
This is actually a better idea than a wrap up, reading too fast can make a book lose its... how do I put this... PAZZAZZ!! It's different if you are naturally a quick reader tho. Sometimes you just need to SLOW DOWN and smell the roses
yes! i'm a smell the roses kinda guy lol
Gadget Girl do ya mean..smell the books?
Yes. I smell something too. Hmmm..manure?
What the Holy hole...already love this
LOL
Yeah! I laughed out loud too!
I think i haven't discovered a booktube channel that was so amazing. You have so much positive energy your videos are energetic and so funny. I love this channel and thank you for putting your heart into it, you can notice how much work you put into this channel. Thank you😊❤
+Nina Pačnik thanks so much!
jessethereader no problem😊 just telling the truth here😊
Yessss! I love unlikeable characters so I NEED to pick up sleeping giants 😄
Also I totally get you on wrap ups! I stopped doing them too because they became so overwhelming to do every month. 😅

Eliana Hogan ikr lol
Eliana Hogan which one?
"I never actually read the Diary of the Wimpy Kid series"..... *World explodes*
I can't help but notice how your reads have become more varied and diversified. Keep it up. It's very nice (and hopeful) to see big Booktubers talking about different kinds of books and not just new releases or sponsored ones.
thanks! doing the best that i can!
I just finished Nevernight (loved it) and I'm reading Scythe now
Hmm. I'll take a guess on what it's about.. Is it about books you've read- RECENTLY? (Mind blowing, I know.)
DiegoVlogs i would have nEVER guessed that :/
SHOOKETH
jessethereader Woah I think my TBR list just grew😄
Hi Jesse u are amazing and funny guy i love your videos. :)
thanks! & thanks for watching!
I just read the house on mango street for university and I loved it too! Space and place is so cleverly used!
OMG you read so much...and here I'm sinking deep into my reading slump?!! help!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
*helps* hope you're out even if it's been 3 years! haha
when are you going to do a TBR for the book tube a ton???!!!
going up tomorrow! :D
jessethereader YES.
Why is Lord of Shadows before Lady Midnight and not after it on your bookshelf?😁
Charlie Theis I was thinking the same thing! But that happened to me yesterday when Mockingjay came before Catching Fire on my shelf and I freaked! Lol
Charlie Theis omg I noticed this too 😂😂😂😂
I kept staring at that throughout the video
great video as always. Jesse's videos are one of the few videos that I would put my book down just to watch them. (sorry if my English was bad)
ah! thanks so much for that. :)
Jesseeee you got Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows out of order on your bookshelf and it's driving me crazy haha
Jojo Sally
Oh my gods now I can't stop starring at it.
glad its not just me who is bothered by this
I love the way you talk about these books. Like, you say what you didn't like about them, but you do it in a way where it's more on the side of constructive criticism - if that makes any sense. And then you also say good things about the book. Love that. Too many people like to straight up bash books. I like seeing open minded reviewers :-)
thanks so much christina! i like to balance it out! even my most favorite books have issues and i think it's important to recognize that. :)
I'm really loving this. Sometimes you just don't wanna sit through an entire detailed book review, ya know. This was perf. Loved it.
I love this series idea! It's really simple and sometimes wrap-ups can get annoying when there are ten in your subscription box all at once.
WHAT ABOUT KINGS CAGE!!!!
You are seriously the funniest person on booktube😂 also love the chair i feel like you look more profesional idk why😅
I love how true you are in your videos! Keeps me inspired to be myself at all times
A new jessethereader video every Sunday???? YASSSSSSS OMG WHAT A BLESSING -also it's slightly annoying me that you have Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows the wrong way round on your shelf :P-
+Ella Lightwøød-Høwlter i noticed that while editing the video and fixed it lol was waiting for someone to comment about it
jessethereader
You got so many comments lol

I read "The House on Mango Street" in high school for a Creative Writing class, and I absolutely loved it. I hope I can find a copy of it to be able to have in my collection. Thank you for reminding me of this amazing book Jesse. :)
Hey Jesse
I really love your videos and I already love the new series.
Waiting for the next one to increase my TBR pile.
Love you a lot.
Yeah,new video!💕
:D
This video seemed a bit more casual and chatty while still really effectively getting across your thoughts and feelings on the books which I LOVED! Looking forward to more of these in the future :)
I just realised that a lot of booktubers use cap-locks for the titles of their videos.
jessie i love wrap up videos but this works too! no pressure.stress is no good this is suppose to be fun! keep up the great work!peace.
Jesse, I think that you would be an AMAZING author!! The way you describe these books is so interesting and descriptive.
jesse! we need an updated bookshelf tour!!
Yes! This is the kind of stuff I've been waiting for! Loving this new series, keep it up💚
This video made me so happy and was so refreshing!

I'm already so excited for this series! It's a really good idea :)
Every time I watch a video like this, I add at least one book to my TBR. And I watch a lot of book videos.
Ahh, I loved Seconds! I read it earlier this year and now it's one of my all time favorites. I borrowed it from the library, but I really need to pick up my own copy.
Really like the sound of just one summer!! Great video!! ❤

Okay that Sleeping Giants cover though is beautifullllll. And its even prettier naked!!! I love these kind of videos, glad its the first of more!!!
I missed the wrap ups a ton so I;m really happy you're doing this
Darn it, Jesse! Why must you make my TBR grow longer?
I LOVE THIS!!! Please make tbr video if u can because that would be cool😊
'you can expect some sort of review video from me every Sunday' is what happiness is made of😍
i recently read the house on mango street too! i feel the exact same about it as much as you. i loved the writing and it's definitely a book that i appreciate and will probably reread, even though i don't really feel like it's a favorite??? definitely felt punched in the gut by some of the vignettes (especially sally)
I like that you listed the books in the description :)
My TBR list just grew..
I'm currently in the middle of Sleeping Giants and I agree with most of your thoughts so far. The exploding gift analogy is especially a good one... Haha. I really like this style of video as well!

Oh how I've missed these videos from you!! Literally makes me want to sit down and read right now! 👍👍👍
ah! happy to hear that.
+Jess R. Wow! Thanks so much. Poured my heart into that piece. 💙
Ahhhhhhh I met Mariko Tamaki a few months back! Also yay for more book reviews in a less stressful format!

You're amazing Jesse!!!
I just came back from vacation, so of course I immediately need to catch up on my jessethereader videos. I missed watching videos from my favorite youtuber
