My favorite books I read recently are Howl's Moving Castle (a long overdue reread) and Dread Nation. I knew I was going to enjoy DN, but I did not anticipate loving it as much as I did.

Cats cradle is my next book I'm going to read , it's nice to kinda hear a nice breif description before hand .
Listening to your reviews of Cat's Cradle and Sky in The Deep are just things I love. Just making me want to read them. No drama and just hanging out with slow burn seems amazing. I hate the constant drama and jumping around.
I soo agree with your view about sky in the deep. But at the same time, that hanging around thing was kinda important cause of all the things that were happening. I mean, her brother just betrayed her!! But yeah you were right - nothing was really happening!! It could have been better if the book was a series or something. Then more of the battle could be shown in the second book or something you know....idk

A book that I have read recently was Zak Bagans a dark world . I am into the paranormal and this was a nice read . Because it made you feel like you were apart of story and I learned so much about the paranormal and learned a lot about Zak . I think it's a good read and right now I am currently reading the first book in the Sword Art Online series .
You should read the Selection series you will fall in love with those books
I agree, I think the best part of Sky in the Deep is the way that the author wrote the character's emotions. I did kinda want more action though

I just finished' and everyday the way home gets longer and longer' by Frederick Backman. Loved it. Its the first book to make me shed a tear in a long time.

I just finished The Fates Divide and Legendary and I enjoyed them both immensely. My favorite part of The Fates Divide is the plot twist in part 2. Legendary was enjoyable because we get the point of view from Tella rather than Scarlet. I'm currently reading Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston and am enjoying it.

I haven’t read anything by Kurt Vonnegut but I would love to read some of his books, especially Cat’s Cradle! It sounds like something I would like, I love when bits and pieces all add up and make sense in the end!😊

I'm currently reading Genius by Leopoldo Gout and I 100% recommend it. I still have about 50 pages left, but it is sooooooooooo great! And it is the first in a series so I'm excited to pick up the next one soon.
I LOVED Sky In The Deep but I do definitely agree that it was not what I was expecting when I picked it up/read the description...but I also will say the action we get is GRAPHIC like Adrienne Young really did her homework when coming up with those scenes. ALSO (i just keep making comments while you continue to give opinions lol) I have to agree that the romance in this book is planned out and set up very well she could have easily turned it into a cheesy insta-love, star-crossed lovers thing but she didnt and i am #blessed. and for you comment about the storyline needing more, while when i was reading it i didnt notice it but i did read it in a few hours once I was finished it became clear that it could have been denser in terms of storyline.
i read solo on audiobook and i felt that it was a better audiobook than physical book, plus you actually get to hear the songs sung!

I've read so many 4.5 star books that I feel like I'm missing something without that amazing 5/5 book :( And thank you for your critiques on Sky in the Deep! I haven't seen very many in depth reviews so I'm still deciding whether or not to prioritize it more

I felt the exact same meh feeling about Sky In the Deep. I thought it was going to be far different than it turned out to be-and I agree with you on the need for more action. It’s Vikings-they should be fighting twenty four seven!

I felt the EXACT same way about Sky in the Deep. I think my expectations were off because the synopsis was kinda misleading?? I had definitely been looking forward to more action and had been hoping the conflict with the mythical tribe would be the main plot, and instead I just felt like the story was mostly full of nothing 🤷🏻♀️

I read Inferno from Julie Kagawa and it was AMAZING
I felt the exact same way about solo, It was a solid read but there was a bit lacking in the plot. Also read it as an audiobook, so blade's songs were... actually sung. Still didn't make the lyrics any better but it was cute to listen to!

Ok when I said the romance was kind of extreme I didn't mean to say was like graphic or something like that I just said it was very not overpowering it was just very well done for me and might be in because I am the world's worst hopeless romantic you will ever meet so I really enjoyed that so hope you like it as well if you decide to read it 😀
I'm currently reading Spindle, and if you like fantasy-fractured fairytale books, you might want to check it out. I'm not too far in, but it kind of seems like middle ground between middle-grade books and YA
I don't know anything about the books. And I don't think i'm going to read them. But I just like to watch bookisch video's. And I'm currently reading a book by Becky Albertalli. It's the book Leah On The Offbeat. But I have the dutch version and that's called De eigenzinnigheden van Leah Burke.

I just finished Heir of Fire less then 5 minutes ago and just my heart, I need the next book. I need to know what happens.
I don’t think Cat’s Cradle is Vonnegut’s best and I totally understand your rating. I wasn’t a big fan either. But if you liked his writing, I 200% recommend Slaughterhouse Five. It’s still one of my favorite books and it’s based a bit on his experiences in World War 2.
I also was disappointed by Sky in the Deep. It was so stereotypical YA and I wanted more. I wanted her to go off and kill everyone or join up with the Herja and kill everyone. Idk. But I think your point about how there weren’t really many plot lines is very true. Much of this book felt like nothing was happening.
I'm definitely interested in reading some of his other works! Will keep in mind your rec for Slaughterhouse Five. :)
