Great detailed explanation video of all the driver side buttons. Only thing I can tell you missed is the seat massaging buttons and the garage door opener.
Correct, I do believe this particular vehicle didn't have massaging seats but yes garage door I should've mentioned, I do have a tutorial video of that up already if you needed to see it though.
Really useful. I have an i40 on order. One thing, near the start you mention the AUTO button that was near your knee but what is it auto for? Thanks for the video. I’ll check them all out
Wait am I reading that right? You helped design B-Mode? If so, mind if I ask you a question about it? Why did you decide against having paddles to flip through different regen settings? I drive an IONIQ 5 and I can imagine the BMW solution being less intuitive/ergonomic for changing it on the fly.
Lol should have said "gas" less haha I got mine on Feb 17. Enjoying it! And have done the Tacoma to Portland and back trips so the Eco Pro mode is great.
If you mean the sensors which tend to be the main issue, you can press the parking assistant button near the gear shifter to deactivate that feature for the time being. Many people keep auto h on but make sure this too is also off when going in.
Great review! Just one question though, the auto on/off high beams you mentioned, is that enabled when you purchased? Mine do not work at all. I thought that it was disabled because of the US law or something
It's only function-able at night time, try pressing the switch at night when the headlights are on. If not, I have seen UK vehicles having to get the subscription to use this feature which I think is ridiculous but again thats more for Europe.
Not all the way, I would say for the i4 it was about 70 percent open, and if you click it back one more time you can get another inch back. I'm sure they did it this way for aerodynamic purposes.
There is a way to program that, you can search on this channel for the garage door opener setup video. If you're having a hard time with it google "homelink bmw" and check out their website for more in depth directions.
I just got one, and the newest ones have done away with the shifter stalk and use a switch tab instead. With the shifter, you can understand why R-N-D is arranged in that order: It's like a traditional automatic transmission shifter. With the switch, you lose that association and so the switch feels a little counterintuitive: You push the switch _forward_ in order to engage Reverse, and pull the tab back in order to drive forward.
I just pretend the new shifter is a selector for rocket engines mounted in the nose and rear: You select the front thrusters to propel you backwards, and then pull back on the switch to light off the rear rockets.
Do you have the brand new 3series LCI that has the curved screen? If you do, Try swiping down from the top of the Idrive screen. You should see at least four on the screen.
Yes you’re right! They are located below the rear view mirror. Hold down the BC Button on the indicator signal stick when you’re on the trip computer screen on the speedometer
In my new m8 I have M1 and M2 buttons on my wheel. M1 I have set for comfort and M2 for sport. Somehow I have the m2 set for manual transmission. How to I adjust it back to the sportiest transmission but still automatic?
Hey Andy. I would try pushing m2. Then move the shifter so that it’s back in D mode. Then re save m2 by holding down the button till you hear the beep.
Thanks John, and congrats on the M50. It's one heck of a ride! Let me know if you had any other questions. Im planning on making 3 hr long courses going more in-depth with the i4's so let me know if that's something you would be interested in?
Most likely not. Any adjusting would have a small lever on the bottom center console. The x5s and above are the ones that have this. Going into sport does make the chassis a bit stiffer
Mine M50 got delayed till 2023... But this allowed me to add the 50th anniversary M emblems (I finalized the build in Feb so it was too early at the time to get those)
@@BeamerView it arrived this past Friday! Loving it - and don't think I'll sell it. Got the extended warranty and maintenance. Paid in full as well since home will be in the near future.
I hope they have the Gear shift as i3 (China Only Version, which is M3 sedan style Electric) and also hoping they have steering wheel pedal for switching REGEN brake level
@@BeamerView so many things I wish BMW do better lol Example like adding Dog mode, camping mode (Which Tesla and Rivian have currently) it is just a software thing. BMW can only do Pre-Heat which is 30mins AC start and auto shut off. I put this in BMW forum and BMW i4 owners immediately on defensive mode LOL I just want this car get better and purchase it haha
LMAO at the turn signal joke, didn't expect it but very much appreciated 😂
Never know!!
Have pre ordered mine. Will get the build date in October so looking at first quarter 2023 sadly.
All good things come to those who wait.
Your videos are awesome! I just got a new i4 and have been watching all your videos to learn all the details. Thanks!
Thanks, glad the videos are helping!
Congrats on the i4! If you choose to, I'd love to feature it on my IG page. DM it to @beamerview
I just got my ir last Friday. I didn't know the trunk auto closed. The height it opens is also adjustable.
Congrats on the i4! Yesss, it's a little tricky! Height is very high so glad BMW offers this feature.
Great video again!! I drove this i4 M50 at BMW Autocross at Angel Stadium last week....AMAZING! B mode kicks butt through the curves.
Hey Frank! The vehicle is insane around the corners, I love the B mode! I have yet to try it around the curves. Can't wait!

Auto just sets your headlights to auto so they will come on by themselves when it’s dark enough
Nice explanation of B mode. A German BMW technician that helped design the i4's one pedal driving could not have explained it better
Haha I do my best to simplify the best I can =) Reach out if you ever have any questions!

I just bought a demo. Can't wait till March.
You’re going to love it! Amazing vehicle.
Good summary. You seemed to have included all the buttons with the exception of the garage door opener on the rear view mirror.
Correct, heres a link to that one. ua-cam.com/video/iclKUfzmQ4Y/v-deo.html

I experience intermittent issues with my I4 going thru the Quik Quack car wash. Suggestions?

How about any homelink buttons for garage door or gate opening

How do you turn on the headlights? Do they turn on automatically?
Yes, you can set it to auto and set it and forget it!
This video was really helpful. How do you configure the map button to default to CarPlay Apple Maps? Thanks.
The map button should go to which ever map is currently active. No way to default it to just Apple Maps unfortunately.
really good explanations

It took me a long time to get use to the new shifters, I do prefer the last gen version because I used the shifter stalk to shift gears a lot.
I just pretend the new shifter is a selector for rocket engines mounted in the nose and rear: You select the front thrusters to propel you backwards, and then pull back on the switch to light off the rear rockets.
I can't see the 8 programmable hotkeys that my 3 series has, did they remove them?
Do you have the brand new 3series LCI that has the curved screen?

moving trunk button away from window buttons actually makes sense
Wouldn't want your belongings flying out the car =)
I think you missed the garage door buttons. Also how do we reset trip meter?
Yes you’re right! They are located below the rear view mirror.
Hold down the BC Button on the indicator signal stick when you’re on the trip computer screen on the speedometer
Nice overview. Thanx. Lane keep (driver) assist?
Located beside the hazard button. Should be the button of a car with a green ring around it. Go into configure and you’ll see lane keep assist
@@BeamerView This is the 40 wheel. Your "30 features" video uses the M50. Showing driiver assist bottom center left.
There is a small circle to the right next to the volume dial. What is that for?
Cabin temp sensor =)
How about the Buttons on the bottom of the rear View Mirror...
Missed those! Garage door opener buttons, got a separate video on this!
Also the blue trim around the steering wheel logo, is that standard? Or only with i- series or?
Only with i Series!

3 series LCI Will be almost the same interior button wise?
Very similar. 3 series LCI will have the paddle shifter style gear shifter similar to the iX.
Can you modify a profile created? Like if I want to change seat position
Yes most definitely
Why does the right mirror not dim at night time? Is that normal?
Hey DJ, not normal for it to do that. I would get it checked out. Both mirrors and even the center one should auto dim.
can we adjust the airsuspension?
Most likely not. Any adjusting would have a small lever on the bottom center console. The x5s and above are the ones that have this.

Does the i4 have remote start ??
Pre-Conditioning yes, basically the same thing.
Through the phone app. Not the key fob.

I’m sure only 10 percent only took that into comprehension. :)
Forget about wheel heater button
Yes! Good looking out!!
The parking brake automatically releases when you drive off. You don’t need to manually release it.

what is neutral?
On the shifter but when you're in drive or Park just do a soft shift to go into neutral.

Yes, I do wish the steering wheel was included with those adjustments. I know the higher end BMWs have that, but it would be nice if they all did .
Ouch, the audio is clipping constantly.
Thanks for the feedback!
I wish they'd move away from the rectangular screen running nearly the width of the interior. It looks stuck on and cheap IMO.
Yess. Takes some getting use to!
horrible to understand this English 😞
