Please don't let some random internet twit ruin your day, I have watched many, many brewing videos before I started and you were a solid source of information at all levels, plus your videos don't suck or push a certain method. Thanks for all you do.
i remember i watched this movie 3 years ago. Started with all-grain, failed hard. DId start with the kits, was so happy. Now 3 years later Iam pretty much only doing all-grain, but who cares. I love brewing, I love drinking a good beer, and I love everything about brewing. Do whats best for you, start with the kits, build your way up. Or just stay with the kits, if you like them, the choice is yours. Thanks again Craig, much love from Norway. Happy brewing EVERYone :) Cheers!
I've been following craigtube for the past two years and this video is very relevant to me, I still make kits as I don't have equipment or space to go all grain. Craig is a legend in home brewing IMO.
This is how a lot of people start with brewing. Craig has done wonders with his videos. He is an avid homebrewer and has videos on all-grain as well. Why bother even make a comment like that. Go bake your cake and leave the beer making to the adults.
ordered my kit a few days ago and have been watching tons of these instructional video, this one is perfect! It is slow, yet nicely paced and entertaining. Rather than simply stating the steps, it is very helpful how you give a few reasons as to why the step is done. The beer looks perfect by the end of the video. Can't wait to share that same feeling of accomplishment.
Mr. Craig, just wanted to say thanks. You've single-handedly inspired me to become a brew master. Thanks so much for the never ending gift of knowledge!
But I am glad to see there are others here to stand up for all of us. Craig I subscribe to your videos beside you are an accomplished homebrewer and your videos appeal to people of all skill levels. Ie beginner or advanced. You've got something for everyone.
Craig, I have brewed 19 extract kits in the last 3 years or so. Its always nice to go back to basics and review some of the steps. Thanks a lot for the video. You are appreciated, my friend!
Great video Craig, should help everyone take the leap into brewing their own beer. Down with store bought. I too use tap water but I live in the country so it comes from the well and is really clean. It tastes better than bottled water. Keep up the great work Craig. Cheers
Just discovered your channel and this was the first of your videos I watched. As someone new to brewing beer I found your video to be very informative without being overwhelming. I'm looking forward to viewing the rest of your videos. Thanks for taking your time to create clear, informative videos.
J.E. Barrett Ya i know, isent he awesome, I myself did just start brewing too, its alot of fun. Started with the basic easy stuff and now im trying adding new stuff into it. Its great :) Cheers from Norway. Happy brewing my friend!
forgot to mention it was a muntons mexican cerveza and it recommended to ferment at 18-21C. I fermented at 20C. Thanks again love your vids keep up the good work :-)
Hey Craig great video thanks! My friends and I have just brewed our first batches. We made 2 with pre-mixed worts from the local brew store, one American Pale Ale and one British Pale Ale. We also made a third, a Summer Blonde using a can similar to the Coopers one in this video. Bottled the Ales today to take camping mid November. Love your videos and I'm really enjoying brewing my own beer. Thanks for the helpful tips from Melbourne, Australia!!
I've watched the old series a couple times and this one is much more put together lol but with that said I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the old ones.
Hi mate hello from Australia and thank you for all you great videos beginner all that way to all grain stuff I was homebrewing and then went off for a while but after watching yourself and a couple of others I'm back into it full throttle even got myself some pat Macks very excited to see how they work!
Thanks Craig. I've been brewing off and on for about 20 years but it was good to check to see if I might pick up any hints and tips from what you do. Pleasing to see that I do almost exactly what you do other than I've never added extra corn sugar. Good idea, will have to try this. Always wondered why my home brew never quite gave me the kick that commercial beer did. So satisfying to do it yourself though don't you think?
I lost my job at the start of the year so i started homebrewing to save cash.still doing it after i got another job ,great hobby tastes better than store beer.
Good timing for me. I've been making wine for quite while, and just started a small beer kit a few days ago. I bought a few kits, discounted and hard to resist. I plan to do each of them, then get in deeper, and more involved process.
Hey Craig another great video. still have not brewed yet but I know when I do it will come out great thanks to all the tips I have learned from watching your video's.
Great video Craig awesome info for a beginner like myself, just got my first batch bubbling away. Home beer brewing is very popular here in New Zealand and your videos are helping to boost my confidence with it!!
Great video. Always great to have a good back to basics refresher. You have inspired me to experiment with making my own beer for the past year. Keep up the great work.
Nice video very informative! I'm a beginner and I find this video very good. I love drinking beer and hopefully I would enjoy making them as well (which I know I will). Thank you very much!
I've just started to get back into homebrewing and this video helped remind me of the basics...... I have subscribed and look forwards to seeing more of your videos. Thanks from London UK!
Great update and thats exactly how I made my first Brew! The only thing different was that I used 500g spray malt and the brew enhancer rather than the 300g corn sugar. Three brews under my belt now and next time going to step some specialty grains. To anyone who has yet to start Craig's spot on its a fun hobby and you will never settle for cheep store bought beer... unless you want the bottles that is.
Great video. I stared brewing and videoing the process after u made it so simple with your original series. Just put down my 3ed kit tonight:) keep up the good work. Cheers!
Zane, the airlock will still work fine as long as it holds water.I actually put star san in mine instead of water. Its just to keep out things floating around in the air.Cheers 17
The coopers kits are for 5 gallon batches, I would divide the ingredients up to the amount of a Mr Beer kit including sugar(not sure what the capacity of a Mr Beer fermenter is off the top of my head), and all should be fine. You could then keep what is left over in the fridge for a while and will be good for the next batch. Good luck
Good idea on the back to basics video man. I've been trying to keep my videos somple so everyone can get something out of them. and it all started with you going on 3 years ago. I've gone from kit-n-kilo like this vid to partial boil partial mash biab. I still use my Cooper's Microbrew fermenter too. it has an IPA of my own recipe in it,just past initial fermentation. trying to get a worthy beer going to send you. These new genration IPA's look god. I'm picky that way...
Thanks in anticipation of my first home brew. Great easy to follow guide for beginners {like me}. Just subscribed to your channel and will be following your video's for more advise. That Mexican beer at the end looked great. Thanks again
Hello Craig, Just like to say thanks for posting the great videos on beer brewing. I have just bottles my first brew made with the new Coopers Kit. I have made the decision to enter the kegging sphere and bought a kegerator along with two 19 litre S/Steel kegs in which to put my second brew, a Muntons connoisseur Yorkshire bitter. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I find it great that you seem to like the Coopers kits as I live in Adelaide, South Australia where these kits are made by the Coopers Brewery. I don't know if you can get the Coopers beers in the USA but if you can I suggest you try their Sparkling Ale or Pale Ale - nectar of the gods for a commercial beer. All the best, Peter Clarke.
Thanks for your videos on Home Brewing for beginners. I'm new to your channel, and really enjoy learning about how to get started brewing. The fun is about to begin!! :-)
hi craig it could be a betty crocker beer but I tried a coopers ipa that you always do I have and the box like you used in the video but also added 1lb dme pitched 2 yeast packs didn't have any hops for flavor or aroma wish I did because it use a kicker strong alcohol so now I brew using kits that comes with every ingredient until I got things down to a science thanks for all your videos and I will keep on brewing
Ive used tap, bottled and even made a wire hanger to hold our Brita filter over my brew pot.I honestly cant tell a difference.I think that if your tap water is good enough to drink,it good enough to brew with.Cheers 17
I've done batches with both spring and tap water. Here in my area of Australia (NSW) our tap water is very decent for brewing. And just as a note, I found brewing with spring water actually turned out fairly flat and lifeless, so it's tap water for me. I'd imagine distilled water would be worse - I have a feeling the yeast need the minerals found in 'harder' water to do their thing.
Craig, Your new brewers should know that the Coopers DIY kit comes with a Hydrometer along with the rest of the stuff they will need for brewing their first batch.
Love the video I just purchased cooper kit I have the cooper family secret amber Ale in at the moment would love if you could do a video of the amber ale
A+ homebrewing video, Craig! One thing I noticed, you said "boil the grains" around 1:30. I know you didn't mean to say that, but I bet you'll get 100 messages about it from those all grain snobs. ;-) Cheers!
Hey Craig, thanks for the awesome tutorial. Can you also please show us what you do now to make wine that's different to what you did back in your 2008 wine making tutorials? Thanks :)
Craig, thanks for all the info... I made my first time 5 gal batch with hops. Turns out I fermented it in the bucket with the spout valve verses fermentation bucket. Had to transfer and then siphon to bottles. Question, how is it done to bottle from fermentation bucket with valve on and not get any of the yeast settlement to follow? I only see one way of doing this and one step deal, mine was to be a step deal. Thanks.
As always Craig, thanks for the detailed, easy to follow along with videos. You've been an inspiration to many, and I hope you keep the videos coming for a long time. BTW, do you think there will ever be a Craigtube Graf, or perhaps a corn beer?(hint hint)?
Craig, made a batch of beer tonight exactly like you said to in this video. Only issue I had is my wort is sitting at 100! Do you think I can pitch my yeast? I've got the wort sitting in my freezer/fermentation chamber at 68 degrees. Thanks for the video!
Hi Craig Great info, the only question i have is that u carbonated the beer with co2 for a week, just at what psi did u have it set at it on for the week? cheers Steve from Down Under
Hi craig im from the uk and iv just started brewing my own beer after watching some of your videos has got me wanting to do it, they say buying bottled water is much better than using tap water but what about using a water filter? Does that make any difference?
William, I've been watching Craig's videos for a while now. His style and persona are what makes them great. If you dont like them, then please, unsubscribe so the rest of his 30,000 subscribers don't have to read garbage like yours. Thanks
I see that you often use the brown plastic bottles in some of your videos, but I would like to know if there is any special tips or guidelines if one wants to use glass growler type bottles (such as the Grolsch green bottles with swing top cap)?
Hey Craig, been watching a lot of your videos recently and actually bought the Mr.Beer Kit because of the review you did. I have my first brew already bottled, just waiting to try. My question is, being from Canada(as you know), it sucks getting the Mr.Beer cans. A local store sells Coopers cans here and I know they are over-hopped and larger than Mr.Beer cans. What can I do to use these cans in the Mr.Beer fermenter? Use half+enhancers? Could I even use the whole can? Please reply and thanks!!
Please don't let some random internet twit ruin your day, I have watched many, many brewing videos before I started and you were a solid source of information at all levels, plus your videos don't suck or push a certain method. Thanks for all you do.
Made another batch tonight via this style. Pitched it at 72 instead of 100 like my previous batch. Thanks again for what you do for the community!
i remember i watched this movie 3 years ago. Started with all-grain, failed hard. DId start with the kits, was so happy. Now 3 years later Iam pretty much only doing all-grain, but who cares. Berge For what its worth, my first AG went perfectly, until I busted by glass thermometers in the wort. Sigh
Congrats Craig you are the real beer fundamentalist.
Hi Craig! I shared this video once again to a friend who wants to start homebrewing. Thank you so much for getting me and so many others started!

Nice updated video Craig. The short clip of your original video brought back some fond memories of watching it when I started brewing...Cheers, 17!

After about a year of inactivity I've just made an all grain with some home grown hops. I'd forgotten how much I like this game.
I've watched the old series a couple times and this one is much more put together lol but with that said I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the old ones.

Thanks for the very helpful video. We're making beer to save money and its fun too. The kits are perfect for people like us!

Awesome vid. Great for beginners, torture for seasoned brewers lol. We all started from the beginning, and this video made a few more brewers.
Great video. Always great to have a good back to basics refresher. You have inspired me to experiment with making my own beer for the past year. Keep up the great work.

watched this while enjoying some of my homebrewed hard apple cider. cheers!
Very good and helpful explanation. Good job. Thank you sir
yess!!! the good old themetune!!! love that themetune!!!
When you keg beer you carbonate the beer in the keg, if you do it in bottles you add a little bit of sugar to let it carbonate in the bottle instead.
the guy is a brewing geniuses.
Hey Craig, thanks for the awesome tutorial. Can you also please show us what you do now to make wine that's different to what you did back in your 2008 wine making tutorials? Thanks :)
You're a great teacher! Thanks!
coopers should endorse you ...you sell the produce very well....
Great video Craig, I was on justin tv when you did this live :)
Always love that intro riff!

Great stuff Craig, just as we come to expect from you and that indeed does look a mighty fine and refreshing beer,
Cheers hhb
Cooper's do make some really good kits and with a few little extra's one can make a really really drinkable brew..
Hi Craig
Great info, the only question i have is that u carbonated the beer with co2 for a week, just at what psi did u have it set at it on for the week?
cheers
Steve from Down Under
