Haha! In England a while back. This album is a huge inspiration for Sylosis. Same with the guys in Malevolence and Bleed From Within! Thanks for all the riffs!
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial You're correct that they didn't use a boost on the amp. I specifically asked Rob about this in one of his videos and he confirmed they didn't add an OD. Sounds great!
Absolutely badass ! You did great on those drums as well... Almost thought you got the original multitrack at some point or something :) "Cleansation" was such a great album opener btw.
His picking hand is really hard to imitate. I’m trying so hard to get through some Sylosis songs. I’d say he’s got one of the best right hands for sure.
I remember being given a cd a band burnt for me back in 2005 to learn the songs they play, it had 4 chimera tracks on it and I was blown away and had to find out who they were! Impossibility of reason is still one of my all time favourite albums !! 🤘 great tone recreation 👏👏👏
Absolutely classic Rob Arnold riffage. First Chimaira track I learned from start to finish. The tones on this album and their self titled are some of my favourite of all time.
This is soo good! Takes me back, Chimaira, Slipknot, American Head Charge and all the Nu Metal bands filling my iPod back in the day! Not popular with the elitists but I still love all that stuff
Interesting to see you using varied Peavey's from STL, I've done the same before. A few months back I requested Fede to add a post EQ for each mic and to allow cab-sharing between Amphub/Tonality. He developed and released the EQ for Amphub, I'm hoping he does the same for Tonality and makes all the cabs common
Boosts are overrated IMO. All it's doing is pushing the mids up and cutting a few lows. You can do the same thing with an EQ, and that gives more control.
Another great video! Lately I've been trying to up my rhythm guitar game regarding stamina, consistency and overal cleanliness when recording. I have one question about your playing: I know you are a real heavy hitter and your right hand/arm make some pretty big movements when picking outside of palm muting. Are you usually hitting extra muted strings when you do it? For example, if playing a power chord on the fifth string, do you hit the muted sixth string and let the pick glide through strings 3-1 (wich are also muted by your left hand)? Or do you just aim for the two strings of the power chord? Thanks a bunch for the attention! Hope to see more vids soon! Looking forward to your new drums too!
I don’t think I normally hit the strings I’m not playing. Usually for power chords I’m only hitting the lowest two strings, not even the D string. Thanks!
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial Shit, I somehow thought myself I should hit them as well for whatever reason. Oh well, another bad habbit for me to get rid of. Thanks for the answer!
Sounds killer Josh! Blindfold me and I'd swear it was the real deal!🤘
Btw- was this session created in Prague or England?🤣

At first I thought it's Rob Arnold posted a new video then saw it's Josh, gosh, love that
Same, lol
Rob created some really cool riffs.
Matt wrote some tasty ones, too.
Chimaira and Sylosis are probably the most influential bands to me as a guitar player. Seeing Josh honoring Rob that way, warms my heart :)
Rob has one of the simplest rigs ever and gets massive sound with his 6505+.
Absolutely badass !

You have such a unique technique that even though you changed the tone it still sounds like sylosis playing chimera esp on the palm mute
His picking hand is really hard to imitate. I’m trying so hard to get through some Sylosis songs.
I’d say he’s got one of the best right hands for sure.
Precisely my thoughts 🔥
I listened to this album today out of nostalgia, loved the guitar tone.
Sounds as close as you’re gonna be able to get. Sounds pretty accurate, love it!!!!

This album single handedly changed my perception of heavy music
Hell yeah, now there's a cool cross over - Josh and Chimaira. The tone is spot on too, well done.
Thank you for Video like this !!!
Absolutely classic Rob Arnold riffage. First Chimaira track I learned from start to finish. The tones on this album and their self titled are some of my favourite of all time.
Dream of the day of a Sylosis/ Chimaira tour!
Definitely was my favorite band when I was younger, really cool you did this 🤘🏻
We want a Cycle Of Suffering tone recreation. In my opinion it is the best guitar tone ever created. So tight yet so heavy...
Great! The Impossibility of Reason is on my top 3 album of all time
I love that this band is still getting props.
Nice one Josh you nailed the tone! Plugin sounds sick btw!
Killer!! Good job dude with the cover too, sounds spot on.
Sounds great. Rob has one of the best tones in metal. 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Josh, can you please tell me what plugin you use on your midi bass guitar?
Chimaira are fucking amazing !
Loving these tone recreations, learning tons from it!
Saw you post jamming this album with Ali on your IG story, so sick, I’m a big fan of both bands! Love from Taiwan 🇹🇼
Criminally underrated album
Josh playing Chimaira... Fucking love it!
That whole album is still so fucking good.
This is soo good! Takes me back, Chimaira, Slipknot, American Head Charge and all the Nu Metal bands filling my iPod back in the day! Not popular with the elitists but I still love all that stuff
Spot on Josh.
Good job as always you’re the man

Nailed it \m/
great show at bilbao, now that ur not anymore in architects are we going to see some jodh middleton project?? ghost psalm were so good
can you please help me to understand if i should play with my fingers tucked in or out? thanks!
Sounds pretty damn good to me! 🤘
Hi Josh ..awesome tones! Is there a Video where you show the drums? thx
Love these tone recreations, keep them coming. How about some Lamb of God tone recreation some time?
I always thought of Sylosis as kind of a spiritual successor to Chimaira.
Would have never guessed that there wasn't a boost on this!!!
Boosts are overrated IMO. All it's doing is pushing the mids up and cutting a few lows. You can do the same thing with an EQ, and that gives more control.
This album’s snare adds 5 years to my life span
Another great video!

Awesome! Please , you can try recreate bullet for my valentine tone?
Simpler times when this song was released...
Can you please do a tone creation of anthems of rebellion by Arch Enemy. I read that it's one of your favourite album tones and they use a XXX!
Two steps ahead of you 👀
As Rob calls it "meat and potatoes", amazing album.
Can you do or link a video that shows how to eq match a recorded tone to an album tone?
Josh, were you listening to Canibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face before you recorded this video?
No. Howcome?
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial Very similar guitar rhythm pattern))
And by the way, thanks for STL TONE - great plugin that I use every day!
This is a Chimaira song, not something I’ve written. First track on The Impossibility of Reason
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial Thanks, I'll listen to these guys
Those drum samples sound pretty close too. Is there anywhere I can find them?
I would be highly interested too !
I had some Sneap samples years ago but I lost them.
Would love to find some similar to TIOR or Resurrection
It's clear with guitars, but how do you make such drums?
Are you taking inquiries for mixing?
🤘🤘
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey Brother, you're killing it. We are proud so proud of you!!!
Send me a JMII. I'm poor and I want it so bad
