you get so much cool shit from the feedback, i've designed so many pads using cable feedback and putting it on different things to get different types of noises
I actually do this on toms and bass drums with the Gojira plugin sometimes so it's cool to see Buster using the pitch shifter pedal creatively. It's the coolest thing about that plugin
Thank you Buster! This is super helpful and refreshing to see such a unique and down to earth approach. I know pre-eq before the amp sim is not a new thing but it's not something I often see seriously talked about. Fortin Nameless really does need it because those highs are nasty.
I always played 2 seperate open low string single notes for Octave blend. I think this sounds cleaner. But Busters method sounds more brutal because you play the full chords and palm muted. I need to try that.
It sounds really good at 0:39 (that pro-q3 step is very useful) and then it sounds less and less good to me as we move forward in the video. But this is obviously a matter of taste and preference.
It's quite a common mistake, guitars shouldn't sound great on their own, but have to sound huge and clear in a mix, blend with vocals and FX ! Pretty sure if you add vocals to the guitar sound you are talking about, we would face masking frequencies ! Final mix is amazing, it's all what matters
@@julienacquisto2249 That's right, the mix is the point, not the soloed track. The guitar heard at 0:39 wouldn't have been the end result for me either. As I wrote (in addition to the experience) it's a matter of preference, there is no only one good solution like 2+2=4.
Good luck man. I reached out to 3-4 different people including Buster. No response. I think they really did just abandon that project entirely. I searched high and low for the download file with no luck. Crazy stuff. It was ahead of it's time and could have been so much more.
if you just want that HM-2 Clone i suggest going for the "Heavy Pedal" by Audiority, i have used it instead of the TSE since you cant get a hold on them anymore.
People really, REALLY overlook how massive a difference speakers and cabs make in the overall tone. It's night and day in many cases. When people ask about pickups or whatever, my first response is always "yeah, but have you tried switching your speakers yet?"
@@abunai.jit’s like removing a blanket from a cabinet, night and day is correct. The second I switched the stock neural dsp nameless cabs to busters custom ir’s, I couldn’t belive the difference it was so jarring. Made the stock speakers sound horrible in comparison !
Hmm. I don't like it tbh. It's really scratchy, and I imagine the "note" will get lost in the mix. Like the tonality is super important. Not just percussive attack... Idk. Maybe this works for hardcore or beat down.
takes the simplest things but makes them complex in his own genius way. Buster is the man.
Pitch-shifted-cable-on-the-floor lead is pretty funny
Buster getting better at sound design 😵

That low end octave trick is neat

Who needs a bass player?!
Korn have been doing it for 30 years.
The fifth works well too
I saw it from Daniel Braunstein, really a gamechanger move on the mix.
The gate on your mic is brutal
“I’m an asshole. Sorry 🙃”
He’s right though you know.
The incorporation of the hm2 is so cool and gnarly
This guy is a madman and I love it
thanks my pc caught on fire
His computer must be insane. My pc's dead with even half these plugins lmao
Better be pissed off than pissed on
Oh that cable pitch trick at the end is genius
Oh gonna start using the slate tape on the guitars now! Only have using on the master buss so far...and this makes me question why haha
That VTM from slate plugin is amazing.
Heriot does that octave kind of sound he’s going for here rather well. It’s a great sound!
VTM is goated. Thickens the lows and smooths out the high nasties.
What a genius such a cool tone

It's amazing how much options you give yourself to chase a specific pisscore guitar tone like this. Great video!
"pisscore" has now entered my vocabulary, thank you
My mind is blown!
Great, now somebody has to clean that mess...
damn dude thank you for doing this my tone is lacking i find right now this is sick
The low end octave trick is also used by that one dude yall always have on for spiritbox mixing sessions (forgot his name but his videos are good).
Thank You so much!

I agree, actually. It seems like too much by the time he's done with it. But he's Buster and I'm not so what do I know?

24 plugs total, it’s called over processing folks
Sounds like Acacia Strains first album at this part.
Forgive my ignorance. Is Thrown, basically Buster and Marcus ? On the record?
IM STRUGGLING. I love the nameless plug in but the scratchy noises drive me crazy and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Try experimenting with the same EQ like he did at 0:45, put it on the raw DI track not after amp
Yeah if you put it on the raw di it processes it before the amp so it doesn’t essentially mutes the scratchy sounds
@@TheOneJordan667 sorry probably just a noob. I guess I am not understanding
You put the eq before the nameless like guitar - eq - nameless.
Quick fix is to roll back your tone knob on your guitar a bit.
i love guitar shanes
so what i'm hearing is that I need to be way more aggressive with EQ got it thanks bust man
I always want to brutally cut the high end in guitars like some of these eq moves, it I always feel like I’m carving out too much!
And then buster comes in bold enough to do what he hears. Now it’s our duty to not feel ashamed copying rather than freeing our own Kreativitätstool
I’m new to this shit.. can I just buy this as a “ready for you” plugin?
Thats a lot of moving parts. Holy crap lol
guitar reference: 4:10
he may be kidding but everyone and i mean everyone is gonna do this now lmao
The fact that he only doubles guitar and doesn't quad track just goes to show Buster's skill.
Do i need Bluecat parallel or could i just use an FX channel and blend in with the Send level ?! Any benefits
How to get this in live !!
now how to do full mix ....... how
Started doing the low octave myself on guitars and even bass on specific notes
I don't hear a difference at 0:45 :o
That eq move makes an absolutely massive difference, listen to the scratchiness in the top end
any chance to get the TSE? I can't buy it on their website

I can help you guys find it if you`re interested.
what cabs were used?

ggd studio cabs cali 0:34

0:10 haha
Song name ?
guilt - thrown
Soooooooooo where can we find the kemper profil with the EXACT same sound !!!??? (real question btw.... the closer, the better ^^)
lol that's a lot of work to make it sound like a recto with no boost.
Dial the angriest tone. Doesn't show it in a mix.

Thrown is a hardcore/beatdown/nu-metal band, it works
But how does it sound in the mix...
