If the roots are healthy leaves will grow. Roots can rot if they are in water. Let the water drain out

My dragontree has yellow soft leaves in the middle of the small new growth. They were green just 2 days ago. I bought it 3 days ago. I only mildly watered it and threw the access water away. The tips were slightly dry and brown. But now these yellow leaves in the middle are soft and a few fell off....I'm afraid it will die. Do u think i should repot it? The pot she is in looks kinda small and the roots are on the bottom and look very crowded. 🙄 I really wish to have some plants but they just keep dying for different reasons 😫

    • @EASYPLANTCARE

If roots are crowded you should repot but in slightly bigger pot. Because roots like be slightly tight. Plant moved 3 days ago, thats stress. You should leave it to accommodate few weeks. That you can write to me again

Thank you for this video! One question, after I watered my plant, I got a full yellow leaf the next day on the bottom of the plant. Then, as the next 2 days past, I noticed that other 2 leaves were turning yellow at the bottom of the plant and falling off. So I checked the roots (no root rot) and put in a new pot (I haven't given it water yet). And now today, another leaf at the bottom has turned yellow and fallen off. Could this still be shedding? There is new growth at the top. Did I overwater it (I accidentally used filtered water, would that have something to do with it?). Thank you so much if you reply, I appreciate it 🙏

      Same thing happened to mine.
The only thing different was high humidity due to rainy season. I know now not to water it on a rainy day. I put it outside to get rained on. Maybe it was too much. I don't have central air conditioning system in my home. I realized that my dracaena was probably drowning. 20 leaves dropped off!!! 😬 I found out that an air conditioner reduces the humidity in the air. So I bought it and placed it in that room. The leaves stopped falling off. I took it outside on a hot dry day to help it dry off more. It's been 3 months since I watered it. The soil dried up and just 2 days ago I watered it lightly with filtered water, TDS 90. The air humidity is 70%, room temperature is 75-77°F, with medium light and in its normal spot. My dracaena marginata is happy now.

I came to this video with the same question. Thank you for asking with great detail. I definitely watered her too much. I’ve noticed this before. She did recover and she’s generally very happy my plant. It seems to be a bit too easy sometimes caring for her (watering so infrequently) and so I proceed to drown her. ( Not on purpose of course).

I recently repotted an extremely rootbound dracaena that probably is around 15 years old or more and the bottom layer of leaves have been falling out, i think i have maybe collected over 25 yellow leaves, im worried the the potting mix i put it in maybe holds too much water. could this be because i over watered it? or just stress from repotting? some leave in the middle of health green leaves have also become yellow. the rest of the plant looks fine though.

Hi, thank you for your video. I've had my plant for just under a year now and it's still in the pot/soil i bought it in. Ever since I've had it, the leaves have been drooping slowly to the point they are just drooped now. The leaves look healthy and there's no yellowing or really any brown tips. The soil dries out very quickly and when I water it and it drains straight through the soil and out. Is this normal?
