    Mashalaah sister! Highly impressive and informative about The Gambia 🇬🇲, I am a bonafide Gambian from the root to the fruit currently based in the US, what I love about my country is the hospitality of the people and the unique genuineness in our DNA and that’s why we are called the smiling coast of Africa. As a Gambian I have lived and mingled with people from all walks of life and all I hear is “you are a nice person and down to earth” but kudos to my parents for the upbringing. Thanks 🙏 my sister for putting Gambia 🇬🇲 on a global spectrum.

    • @Africa1000
      @Africa1000 3 роки тому +1

      You're wrong! There is no such thing as Gambian DNA! There are several different ethnicities in Gambia and nothing whatsoever to with Gambian DNA. As Africans our countries were created by the British colonialists. It's correct that the population tends to be very pleasant but it is dangerous to pretend that as a nation you are any different to other African people. Like most African states it is made up of several ethnicities. Your big advantage is that it is a very small country so you tend to have less regional conflict than say Nigeria or the DRC because the different people have always lived closely together but that is a result of colonial history and nothing to do with the people itself.

      Thank you so much Musa for your kind words. It means a lot to me, and it also means a lot to represent my country and share information!
      Superblack - I don't think Musa meant it in the way you're describing. You are a 100% right with what you stated about the history and that our borders were created by them... but I don't think we're speaking about the same thing here

    Thank you for the facts about THE/the Gambia 🇬🇲 or simply Gambia. I knew some of the facts: it’s location, capital city and River Gambia.
    I remember the film Roots when I was in high school. That way a steep learning curve about Colonialism, slavery and race. I’m an Ethiopian 🇪🇹 and many people in my generation heard about Kunta Kinte. He is a legend and warrior from Mandinka tribe. He is the symbol of resilience, never give up attitude in the face of adversity and hope. Never ever forgotten his origin or his root. Please, let me know if there is a book about Kinta Kinte. I would love to dig deeper about him. Hopefully, google will help.
    Yeah. I can carry on and on about Gambia.
    By the way, the holiday we booked to visit Gambia last year was cancelled after one of the holiday company went bust. I was gutted not being able to see this wonderful place. I’m sure I will be able to visit when the pandemic goes away. Fingers crossed!

    I'm going to Gambia soon, haven't been for 5 years.. my first time in Gambia was when I was 11, and when I was 17 18 19 20 21, and I went every 6th month from when I was 17 to 21... I'm now 26.
    My mother is a mixed Gambian, because her father was a Mandinka from Guinea Bissau, and her mother was a Jola from The Gambia. My family name is Sanneh so I'm (Nyancho = Prince) we of the Princely Bloodline of the Mansa Musa dynasty. Read about
    Kelefa Sanneh a well respected Mandinka warrior from the early 1900's.. and ofcause the Mandinka Kings Mansa Musa and Sundiata Keita. Keita's are above the Sanneh because they were of the direct Bloodline of Mansa Musa and Sundiata Keita. Sundiata Keita was the founder of the Mali Empire.
    My father is a Danish 🇩🇰🪓🧔🏽🛡
    And My Name is
    Ebrahim Franko Arthur Sanneh.
