    I am an American living in NY and my husband is Gambian living in The Gambia. I have been to The Gambia 2x and going again very soon. (Awaiting my husband to join me here in the States). I have yet to learn all that I want of the Mandinka language. So glad I found your videos....thank you soooooo much!!! 🩷🤲🏻

      If you want to quickly learn the Mandinka language, you can learn the n'ko writing. Many tutorials are available online.

    Thank you for the video, I was born in Lonodon but my dad is a Senegalese Mandinka. I would love to learn Mandinka because my grandad didn't teach my dad and I like to live in The Gambia when I'm older so I can be around fellow Mandinkas and other Africans in general.

    I am an educationalist from Greece. I watched this video because I wanted to know what the Mandinka language sounds like. I was impressed. It is a beautiful, harmonious language and Binta does an excellent job presenting and elaborating in flawless English! I am really thankful for having watched this video. Abaraka, Binta!!

      Same! I want to learn West African (and Bantu) languages now...I’m so interested in my roots and so sad that I can’t speak these beautiful languages by default! The fact that us African-“”Americans”” are stuck in a Diaspora far from our beautiful home region Africa really sucks....💔💔

    Well I'm engaged to a Gambian Man. He speaks English also and is willing to teach Me the language, but I want to surprise Him with learning some of His language on My own. Show Him how serious I am about being His Wife

      I know right, this is the kind of message Gambians need to hear, we need to make the right decision but also alot of our people needs to be educated about their right and what should be expected from their appointed leaders

    Beautiful language & calm sounding!!!
    I like West Africa very much, so I'm interested more on the lingua francas of that area of Africa. Thank you for the videos & your clear English pronunciation. It makes the lessons easier!!! I think Mandingo was the language of Salif Keita's songs!!! Always I loved that language sound!!! Love from Greece.

      @@makamasireh2125 I think that at least, Salif Keita was singing mostly in Bambara language. Maybe sometimes in Mandingo, but I think mostly Mory Kante was singing in Mandingo!!!

    In Guinean Mandinka in response to Ta nanteh we say “tanan si teh”. The very first greeting soumo leh I was like 😳 Mandinkas don’t say that in Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast.
    Everything else I could understand 👍🏾
    Our languages are very rich. So many different ways of saying things.
