That was shockingly good, I mean really good. Bass player really nailed the rhythm with the drummer, and the ladies took a. very challenging song to sing and crushed it. Well done form a Groovies fan for 50 years!
This is what the world needs...more music teachers that know their shit, and turn youngsters on to great music. Thank you to the instructors and the kids that played and sang.
Great job young folks! Thank you for performing a lost gem of a song by the Flamin Groovies! You young excellent musicians weren’t even born when this song was released! I’m very impressed! A+
The first time I heard this tune I was younger than everyone on that stage. I get so sentimental watching a younger generation cover a classic like this. Keep on keepin' on!!
That's entirely due to the crew at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I had avoided shooting there, worried that they were going to be all tight ass and corporate, but they were incredibly helpful.
I'm amazed by this version and most of all the energy and profesionalism you put on it! Really great find, hope you guys still playing, there's some social network to follow you?
It's usually a collaboration between the music director of the school (who is usually the director for the house band or show team) and their individual teachers.
Mr MWC is correct. In this bands case, their MD is Tommy Rich. He nearly made it as a national level musician himself and has an obviously extensive knowledge of Rock and Roll. These kids (the Jaxx Band Rejects) BRING IT better than many other professional or bar bands. A really excellent and versatile band. imho
Thank you. Unfortunately, my wife is dealing with stage 4 small cell lung cancer, and I am her sole caregiver. So as much as I would love to capture this year's AllStars, and all of the local bands supporting them, it's not an option. Before we got the diagnosis, I had planned to travel to Cleveland to capture their Zappa show.
This takes me back to the 70's, in the back room of the Railway pub in Harrow, London, watching a local band, The Bozos. I was about the age of these kids at the time. The Bozos did a great version of this song, as did these kids. Though I was puzzled - the kid with the acoustic guitar kept appearing and disappearing, seemingly randomly. I thought they might have sorted it out in the editing.
Most of these kids wind up learning more than one instrument. Any good drummer should learn to play the bass and vice versa, especially given that they should have a mind meld going on.
They were definitely excited to be there, and they definitely knew they were privileged to play this phenomenal Rock masterpiece... But I'm sorry kids, there's a thing called soundcheck... great attempt
This was an all-day concert, different bands coming on and off stage, and none of them got a sound check. The sound engineer pretty much had to work with what happened, as it was happening.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 watch here is the original..the Flaming Groovies were a SanFrancisco band that had limited success as roots rock and later power pop act circa 1968-1978..this song is an essential power pop ballad, produced bt Dave Edmunds )
"Flamin' Groovies" best band name I never heard of before I started watch SoR. But after checking them out, I think the Jazz Band Rejex sound better here; Musically groovin', with flamin' vocals from the three girls. They Rock it!!
The girls are trying too hard to do a 2010s/late 2000s sultry female vocal, which gets in the way. The guys are amateurish, but definitely pull it off well for kids' standards. God bless 'em. I hope the girls learn that not every song is an opportunity for... let's say, the opposite of chastity.
God this is annoying. Shake Some Action is a classic but their image!! Especially the bass player. How can anybody not stand still with a 4003, especially in jetglow.
When I was a kid rock n' roll was not welcome in school. Now kids are being 'taught' it by well-meaning adults trying to 'get down with the kids'. Maybe that's why it used to be so great and is now so shit.
My daughter had a great experience with SoR. Each location is different but if you have a kid with an interest in Rock (no matter what their experience might be), check out the passion level of the owners to see what their commitment level is to the kids and to the music. Ask to see their set lists and look for theme shows and those who embrace an “Elvis To Elvis and Beyond” approach. If your kid is talented, ask what they do for kids “above their pay grade?” Are they free to audition for the House Band? Do only older kids get to “front the band?” I can give you a list of questions to get honest answers. Best of luck! Chris Traynor
Lol, this is so ignorant. 90% of all band members from "the good ol' days" had some sort of musical background, either from school or a private tutor, especially the British bands. At the very least, learned from friends. Few actually 'just picked up the instruments' and started totally self-taught.

Great performance. Astonishing that these kids would be aware of this classic song.
Just goes to show that r n r will never die, it will just renew itself thru the generations to come ❤❤❤❤
Incredible job by every one of these kids! Long live rock! 🎸✌
Great power pop song! Love seeing the youngsters learning these great tunes.
it's so cool for these kids to bring out this power pop gem...
Drummer and bassist are playin' their butts off!
Nice to see such young people take on a great, but obscure song. Lots of energy. Looks like they had fun.
That's a strong rhythm section - the kid on the drums and the killer on the bass really propel this gem. Great job by all.
Look how these kids are in it everytime, everysongs! I Would have liked to have them together forever!!!! Why not!
I'm very impressed. I've been listening to all the Shake Some Action videos I can find. These kids sound awesome.
Excellent Audio!

Wow!!!!! I loved it. You guys knocked it out of the park
Well done kids. The guitar player nailed the solo.
Brilliant cover
❤❤❤ BAND IS GREAT. ❤❤❤ VIDEO AND SOUND RECORDING GREAT TOO! ❤❤❤ Would love to manage this band for free.
nice job on one of my all time favorite pop songs! a couple of Flamin' Groovies have passed recently, this makes me remember them and smile
well done guys, great song!
excellent song-writers-singers-musicians-well done-Trinity bless everyone with good safe healthy days
Thank you! You were fantastic!!! Loved it ❤️

Check out Lydia Briggs online.
Love it! It's' Rock' n Roll! Best young Musicans! I Think so, here in Old Germany. 🤩
Love it!
Fabulous.
Very well done 👏 😎🎸🎶❤
These kids rule!
Youngsters covering The Flamin' Groovies!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!
Fine, Groovies created - among other gems - power pop and teenage kicks' music, you well felt that
Who selects their songs, because their repertoire is amazing!

@@MidWestConcertVideo2 My bad, should be "Jazz Band Rejects" (love the name) btw: Keep up the good work!

What a great performance and an amazing song! Flamin Groovies, first aid kit, lucius, all great artists and previously unknown to me!
the irony: the Groovies aren't in the HoF, but a bunch of rappers and lame pop singers are 🤦🤦
this is fuqn beautiful
The guy in the blue t-shirt with the Strat is the hero of the clip
Groovy babes

A ripper performance and rendition of this great r n r tune....the guitars could improve a little, but the gals let it all hang out petfectly ❤❤❤❤❤
I would buy this if on amazon or iTunes. It is that good.
Funky bass player!
fucking brilliant!! 💥
Awesome
A great forgotten song. So much better than yet another version of Sweet Child O’ Mine.
U7uu0=
Not forgotten here, I got the LP when it came out and it still gets played a lot.
Slowed down a bit, but pretty good though.
Sounded good. The 3 vocalists did a great job. Nice job by the band.
I'm wondering how far down the play list this song is. I never heard of it!
That kid rocking out on bass is literally the cutest thing ever
the bass player shouldn't be the most animated person on the stage though 🤣
Absolutely amazing
You really nailed the exuberance of the song and nice to hear with a three-way female lead vocal.
Wait. That kid playing the base was playing the drums a minute ago?
Most of these kids wind up learning more than one instrument. Any good drummer should learn to play the bass and vice versa, especially given that they should have a mind meld going on.
Hell yuz.
👌👌👌♥️♥️♥️
Excellent. Next up for Cleveland School of Rock should be The Flamin' Groovies ' Teenage Head'. Those were the days.
They were definitely excited to be there, and they definitely knew they were privileged to play this phenomenal Rock masterpiece... But I'm sorry kids, there's a thing called soundcheck... great attempt

👍👍🇩🇪
Great cover. Great job.
🌞AMAZING!BRAVO!IT`S REALLY COOL BAND AND PERFOMENS!GO AHEAD GUYZZZ😀👍🔥
Lydia is so cute
Isn't she just! Shame her solo stuff is so sad and downbeat.
Would like to get drunk during one of their performances ! Nice one ! Drummer looks like that one dude of Breaking Bad btw
Spotify or on Apple Music ???
Power Pop 101, who's on bass.
I think the drummer's mother filmed this.
Don't know the band but I like this performance they did a great job
I think the Music Director in Cleveland has a deep knowledge of local bands.
Sorry there's no close-ups, I was fixing one of my cameras back by the sound board during this song.

Who's the lead singer?
The one in the middle i mean
@@nacho5586 The girl in shorts is Lydia Briggs.
I assume that is a "school bass"... I recognize it from another video with that WAITING ROOM GIRL!-!!
Give you some bonus point for picking such a great tune. Let's hear you cover the Groovies' "Step Up" and "Over My Head" now.
They're probably better than the Groovies now! Certainly better looking!

All of the teachers are working musicians - if there is a School of Rock in your town, folks in bands you probably know are teaching these kids.

Terrible guitar intro.
