I wonder what the reaction would be if a superstar pulled out the barry white driver or any of super dragon's finishers, they would get instantly released.
The flying head but should be banned more than pile driver as that move messed Harley Race, Dynamite Kid, Daniel Bryan and especially chris Benoit... in
I huge part of the danger of the buckelbomb is IMO because you're not hitting the plain surface of the ring but the smaller less predictable turnbuckle. Looking at the shots you've chosen for the muscle buster, it looks like he's falling backwards doing a muscle buster suplex instead of keeping them held above him and simply sitting down to finish the move.
I don't understand how the diving headbutt isn't a "if you do this move I'll terminate your contract" type of thing. It's literally the main reason behind the Chris incident.
Well, seeing Chris Benoit in his last years perform that stupid head butt i always thought, why would he do a move that harms him more then the opponent? Seems it wasnt fake, when he suffered after the move....
Exactly! A lot of wrestlers who are forced into retirement from concussions, or suffer from brain issues used the diving head butt as well. It was never a good idea and was just dangerous and stupid. I personally never thought it looked very good anyway.
If you take a burning hammer over the shoulder sort of like how Kota Ibushi did it with Brian Kendrick, it's actually quite safe. Also with the vertebreaker, if you release an arm on the way down, allowing your opponent to roll over on the shoulder sort of like how AJ Styles took it with Seth Rollins, it's also quite safe.
In his first book, Chris Jericho mentioned that he once tried to do the shooting star press after someone who had seen him do the lionsault said he could probably do that too. I can't recall exactly what happened but Jericho either injured himself doing the move or came very close to it and thus never attempted it again.
So true! He's so charismatic that he makes even the lamest episodes of RAW sound interesting. The RAW episode could totally suck, but listening to him talk about why it sucks is entertaining.
Megumi Kudo innovated the Double- underhook back to back piledriver. She called it the Kudome Valentine/ Kudo Driver. It’s called that name in the WWE 2k video games.
The Undertaker got banned from doing his Hell's Gate submission move for a while. Also "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels did a version of The Wings Of Love called The Angel's Wings.
add fire thunder driver to the list. it starts off like a regular suplex, once opponent is straight up in the air the opponent is turned and the wrestler then jumps on their butt basically into a pile driver
The thing Jeff Hardy did from the top rope(ladded), forgot the name. It is a 100kg+ human projectile hitting you full force., and I have never heard of fake gravity in WWE. Not sure if anyone else did that.
The Anaconda Vice looks realistic because it is a proper submission technique taken from Brazilian Jujitsu. One of the only real differences between the BJJ version and the version done in pro-wrestling is the proper version sees the person performing the technique splaying their legs as wide as possible to provide maximum traction and reduce the chance of a reversal. As a side note, AEW wrestler Matt Sidel (formerly Evan Bourne in WWE) uses a sitting up version of the Anaconda Vice as one of his finishers, which makes it seem like the missing link between the Anaconda Vice and the Cobra Clutch. Long story short, snake themed submissions are deadly.
Every once in a while Adam Cole's Panama City Sunrise (basically a Canadian Destroyer) ends matches. The semi-cinematic match with Velveteen at one of the Takeovers, also the match with Pat McAfee.
The chronic powerbomb after the dlo brown drop incident mad the move non existent until the buckle bomb variation came out. After that his started doing the spinning bomb.

Well it is called the Tombstone Piledriver... so yes. But taker does it “safely” most of the time by keeping their heads pretty high up his thighs so they don’t actually impact the canvas
Tombstone is just a safer version of piledriver
Owen hart did the tombstone, and nearly killed stone cold
god, i really don't understand why people used to hate simon's videos so match years ago
dude's so loveable
It may just be me... but I don’t really associate the Styles Clash with the Faithbreaker. It’s the exact same move, but in my opinion Michelle does it so much more gracefully. They really look so different honestly. Also, the Faithbreaker looks so much more devastating.
Isn't the Wings of Love just Tomasso Ciampa's Fairytale Ending?
Yep
Yes. It wasn’t really “banned”, it just was disallowed for the women because of how incredibly disrespectful they were to the division at the time. I was surprised he didn’t mention ciampa and didn’t mention Cole in the Canadian destroyer section. Then again, I don’t think Simon watches nxt.
@@edgecrusher018 It seems that he included plenty of moves that were "banned" for a little while. Most of those bans depends of the mood of Vince that morning.
The anaconda vise is actually a legit submission hold. You need to get the leverage just right, but it's essentially a modified kimura/shoulder lock
it has a name (not sure what, without having to look it up) but it's a Judo chokeout hold. Use their arm, then your bicep squeezes against their artery to choke them out.
@@TobiLaroux for real. I've used it in both judo randori and BJJ rolling. It's a tricky move to get right. Most dudes would just go for the traditional head arm triangle. In the words of Mr Miyagi though, if done right, no can defend
@@redgrizzly1492 Yah, it's easier to grab a head arm triangle, or even a gi choke, but any submission hold is an art form of itself.
Came here for the Vertebreaker. Leaving quite happy. In essence, it's just an elevated Unprettier, but such an awesome maneuver to watch. Especially when you remember that it was Shane Helms' finisher
Search youtube for Kudome Valentine. Megumi Kudo was doing this move as early as ‘95 I believe, if not before
@@goat666db and Homicide makes it look more deadly than Helms. I think MOST wrestling moves are invented by Japanese stars.
The vise isn't banned at all, the creepy guy in NXT uses is as a finish.
Thats a modified shoulder choke
@@Overtrigger it's the same fucking move. And Punk didn't invent it he nicked it off Tenzan in Japan along with every move Punk ever used. Dexter uses the anaconda vise cause the choke version is banned.
@@ChristopherJames1993 It's not the same move. Dexter uses the arm triangle choke, a real jujitsu move. While the Anaconda vice looks cool, it wouldn't harm the opponent at all. Professional mma fighters ( No, not CM Punk) has tested the move and has debunked it
I was at WrestleCade, 2019. I saw Harley Race outside his hotel with no coverings, in a wheelchair, in the rain. Had my friend not stopped me, i was gonna make a scene about it.
Paul Orndorff had the best version of the Piledriver in the business.
8:57 new japlan?
Yes
I miss when "The Stomp" was called the "Blackout."
6:50 Who is Benoit hitting with the diving headbut? Looks like Bobby Eaton but can't be lol
I remember the first time I saw the Canadian Destroyer. It was on TNA over 10 years ago. I think it was Petey Williams who did it? I had to get my mother and grandfather in to see that because that was the most insane move I'd ever seen. They both watched WWE almost exclusively. They started watching TNA after that as well
new japlan... nice... 8:56 . not complaining, just nice how you kept it going. :) kudos
9:59 The Styles Clash is actually 100% safe in AJ's hands even if you tuck your head. He saved James Elsworth from devastation when he saw him doing it as he was hooking it up. It's perfectly safe in the right performer's hands. Well, as perfectly safe as any pro wrestling move can be let's be honest here.
Edit: When Kane officially retires from in-ring wrestling you can add the Tombstone Piledriver to this video.
I loved Rex so much man. He looked like he came straight out of Tekken.
Implant Buster, not Impact Buster. Great list, btw. Also, btw Homicide did the "Gringo Killa," which is basically a vertebreaker.
I wonder what the reaction would be if a superstar pulled out the barry white driver or any of super dragon's finishers, they would get instantly released.
I swear someone did a bucklebomb on RAW today or maybe Smackdown last week
Shelton Benjamin to Kofi Kingston today!!!
That means there is much less room for mistakes and well... Nia Jax needs LOTS of room for mistakes and still manages to mess up and endanger other wrestlers.
Adam Cole is pretty known for hitting the Canadian Destroyer in NXT. The same with Dexter Lumis with the Anaconda Vise, I think even Braun Strowman had like a standing Anaconda Vise when he first got to WWE
The only guy they trust to use Burning Hammers in WWE is Trent Seven, and it is also his finisher which is pretty cool. Besides that the Revival aka FTR have used a Burning Hammer Knee Drop Combo in a match before and if I remember right I believe Rollins and Reigns have also done this in their early Shield days as well.
Yes, but none of them used the ACTUAL Burning Hammer, they use a safer variant (Thank god for everyone's necks)
Simon doing a Here's Why Top10 is a golden up.
#11 Diving Headbutt
Why? Because Chris Benoit, that´s why.
"Go look how Sasha Banks lands"... uhm... I'm watching your video, maybe you could show us how Sasha Banks lands? (And Why)
He doesn't show live footage so that his video cant be copyright claimed im assuming.
@@lancourt they're showing copywritten wrestlers n logos n all that jazz. Doubt showing a 2 sec clip of each example would cause an uproar
@@crussteasock4047 lmao there’s full royal rumble matches on here, I’d rather them just show the clip so I don’t have to click off to see what they’re talking about
"That move is too good to be used in the Divas division." Is that really why they banned the Implant Buster?? Cause that's a very STUPID reason.
I still remember the first time I seen Petey Williams do a Canadian Destroyer. I was like what was that besides the coolest move ever! Lol
I just watched the debut of the Burning Hammer. It looks like you just drop the guy on their head, probably a good reason to ban it
Looking at the shots you've chosen for the muscle buster, it looks like he's falling backwards doing a muscle buster suplex instead of keeping them held above him and simply sitting down to finish the move.
Think Chris broke his arm at this time in Cornys promotion Smokey Mountain Wrestling if memory serves me correct
Cody did use the Vertebreaker in a match once in AEW and the biggest issue is that you can only use the move on someone lighter than you.
American History X was an amazing movie. Now back to Simon 😂
It was a great movie but it’s one I only need to see once.
@@bronsonedward it’s a fantastic film and deserves multiple viewings
@Rhyleigh Mackenzie so you like beating black people?
@Rhyleigh Mackenzie that's racist 😂🤣💀
With the brainbuster Simon, you forgot to name Kid Kash.
I would honestly watch Simon Miller talk about the ten best vacuum cleaners
American History X is a near masterpiece
