i tried to use some meta weapons on the dlc on my first run, when i said fuck it, i used my trusty Claymore at +18 with piercing fang, and it only took one try on rellana.
I recommend the falx for a powerstanced curved sword build with passive bleed. They are paired already so you don't need ng+ or someone to drop another one like with scavenger's curved sword. Also, the skill is absolutely wild on it.
I'm shocked how is it still possible for From to make weapons like Claws of Night which are just lovely to play with, DPS aside of course. Claws moveset is already sweet and while they can struggle against shield - they have magic damage and bleed. And throwing possibilities? Yeah, they can throw off a lot of people in pvp. And then we have hammers...
I did a bleed+jump attack focused build with curved swords similarly. Tbh a little awkward for various reasons. Especially at lower levels. Bc scavenger curved sword is 1 per run and very low damage. While bandit curved sword with bleed has better damage but awkward scaling. And the bleed in general is disappointing these days. Focusing on consecutive attack gives more damage, but bleed stuff is part of that. Maybe the medium is doing poison self buffing along with something like poison hand or poison perfume. But honestly maybe the way to go is just pure damage and consecutive attack boosting, and that might be more than enough for insane damage. And ignore the somewhat cheesy bleed/poison attack boosts, esp since consecutive attack is by far the biggest boost. Especially if also using faith buffs, that will make up for it. I wonder even if some kind of strength/fire or just pure faith-flame art would be the best way to go along with flame grant me strength and other buffs. Or dex int frost, maybe a bandit in one hand and wing of astel in other. And I do think the bandit swords are supposed to be really good for pure elemental (so I guess flame art/magic/etc) The weapon art i used was raptor of the mists, very fun for such a build but probably if you know the bosses so well not particularly necessary.
@albegade Bleed doesn't feel as OP as it did a couple years ago, so I did consider self inflicting it, that would've given me a bit more damage in fights with super high or perfect bleed resist. The poison perfume Ash might be the way to go for the poison or rot buff. The hefty Rot Pots will deal a ton of damage but can be tricky to land. I've actually never used raptor in the mist, but it looks really effective in dodging some real tricky attacks, like Metyr's beam in phase 2
well actually ☝🤓 bloodhound claws and bloodflame gonna have more dps ☝🤓 (adding some nerdiness the bloodhound claws have best damage when you low on levels and hookclaws when you have enough of levels to boost the scaling, in additional just became Senator Armstrong and use Endure AoW, godskin swaddling cloth and malenia's great rune, i have no life)

This almost feels illegal to watch. 😂 That's insanely good damage 😮
