Having a wave nouveau decades ago. I never brushed or detangled my hair. I just washed it, condition it, and used finishing lotion. I also put the finishing lotion on my scalp..
Hello, I watched your videos and the problem is that you were experiencing breakage. You were told to get a trim by Ms. Denise and you refused. This allowed the chemical to infiltrate your ends and continue up the hair shaft...resulting in breakage. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over 35 years. In addition, your are using natural hair remedies on processed hair. You are in need of a humectant and Aphogee does make one. You have to be compliant when you have chemicals in your hair. The only option now is to get a retouch and trim or get cut the chemical out of your hair. Your new growth is thick and it is transitioning to processed hair. This is the perfect storm for breakage and thinning hair. Go back to Ms. Denise and get your beautiful hair healthy again please. Your are putting too much trauma on your hair. This is why she has a license. Everything should balance out until you learn from your professional stylist how to upkeep your hair. Your hair will recover! Thanks and I wish you well.
I’m so confused as to how you can just go back to natural hair by not getting a touch up? Won’t it fall out? With all your hair, I would’ve never put the curl in it. Make me understand because I was told I had to get a big chop and my hair is longer that hers. Is there a way to keep my hair and go natural?
It’s been said that if you don’t get it every three months your hair was stores sharing because you’re not able to moisturize the new growth like you should it’s not gonna hold moisture so the shit and will come if you’re waiting six months to get an a retouch
I love my wn I wore my natural 4c most of my adult life. But I do nothing but use the products made for it, it’s the best between washing and conditioning while in the shower I just rinse out some product build up and start over but I don’t do any additional products it doesn’t need it. Simply put you dried it out.
I am grateful for you. I had wave for 20vyrs and then i got a couple of touch up after my hair dresser retired due pandemic. It has never been the same.
Does anyone know about the root perm method??? Not seeing many beauticians doing this but retouching roots using this method will stop damage on already processed hair
I had been ripping my hair out, and getting hair cuts.. I just haven't known what to do about my hair or skin. My hair has not been past my shoulders since elementary school, and I have had acne/hyperpigmentation and sensitive skin issues since I was 13. I don't know if it hormonal or vitamins, but I'm starting to address my health with my diet and level of activity. I don't struggle to heavily with self-esteem but.. I'm becoming more self-conscious because I want to take care of me for my future self. I just thank God that I was led to your videos specifically because I don't feel alone in this hair journey anymore. Thanks for posting.
D tangle your hair by coming from the bottom of the hair up to the route to work your way up slowly. You’ll lose less hair you’ll find that you have more growth because you’re not ripping it out
Im not worrying about the shedding any more of my hair. I have very thick, thick, hair & I think it is what they always say when it suppose to shed. I also use the EZ detangle brush on my hair. The best brush ever. Once I brush once, it removes the shredded hair. So once I brush my hair again, I have less shedding. Also, I learned also to stop treating my hair as if it was still natural. I had to stop washing my hair every week & start washing it twice a week. I still love my hair. Can't wait for my 1st retouch this mouth. Also, I think I am going to go with a looser curl pattern because my hair is being so thick, I still get that afro look once it dry. Just curly & puffy, 😆. So, once I get it done again, I am going to go for more of a wave look. I also experience frizz with my first Design Essential Curly Perm. I hate it. I don't know why that had happened. Did you experience any frizz with the WN? I also have been applying Sulfur 8 to my scalp along with some argan oil & tea tree oil. So far so good.
I did two protein treatments to slow down my shredding, but it was over a month ago. Two weeks apart. I do my deep conditioner treatments once a week on wash day.
I live in Florida also so I can relate to the piercing cold.🙂 I have wanted a wave nouveau but I recently had a kidney transplant and the immunosuppressants or something is causing my scalp to hurt with a pins and needles sensation. So I don't think that I should get it. Thank you for your video
I recently gave up on the wave nouveau. I had postpartum hair loss and scalp sensitivity. I wouldn't advise any chemicals if you are having health issues
I did it twice two weeks apart, my stylist thought it was reverse the shedding problem :) it was well over a month ago and I haven’t done it since. I have a video on here about it:)
I got my WN June 2020. I noticed that is started to shed a lot as well, however I have extremely thick hair so I didn't notice any hair loss. I just got a touch up this past weekend and I see that my hair has grown a lot as well. I was worried that I made a bad choice especially when following your videos and it appeared that you were not going to get a touch up.
From everything that I have read online and also seeing and videos it looks like the people who have a Gina girl or a whole lot more satisfying than the ones that have a wave nouveau in the appearance in the amount of damage and just overall health of the hair. But you were absolutely right because if you do a wave nouveau or if you do a Gina curl it’s all chemicals it’s all processing!
I’m going to get. NW tomorrow. To be honest ima little scared. I have overloaded with information. I heard no protein treatment. Then I hear yes get protein treatment. I don’t know what to do

I am getting mine done on 10/4 ! I had this as a child and it worked very well. So I am going back to what I know

Ok, I'm glad to hear this. Your beautiful hair will definitely bounce back. I will checkout the new video. I love your wonderful/positive attitude.
Now that you have wave perm, how can she go back without cutting it off?

My stylist recommended 4-6 months, but I never ended up getting the retouch.

Maybe the chemicals changed in the product because the feedback is either that it’s great or that it has cause lots of shedding.
You're so pretty!
Thank you very much!
Does anyone know about the root perm method??? Not seeing many beauticians doing this but retouching roots using this method will stop damage on already processed hair
You're in it now. You've gotta go get those curls redone. It looks healthy tho. Thanks for the video
I’ve big chopped since:)
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin Understandable. Natural hair just feels* better. Thank u for sharing.
Yes and this is my second big chop, and my hair came back thicker than my first time. I’m amazed and I’m pregnant now so it’s growing like crazy.

You’re welcome ! I’m happy to help as I am also working through my wave nouveau and health issue too! Praying for your journey .
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin thank you Ma'am. Merry Christmas 🙂
I heard they make your hair grow long
It did, my hair grow like crazy!!!!
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin I would try it but my butt got heat damage or maybe that’s why I need to lol

It took me 2 years to get over my wave nouveau. Never again. Oh, my the way, I lived in Navarre🙏🏾
Hey neighbor! What did you do after the two years passed. Did you just grow you hair back natural or relax it when you hit the two year mark?
Im not worrying about the shedding any more of my hair. I have very thick, thick, hair & I think it is what they always say when it suppose to shed. I also use the EZ detangle brush on my hair. Sulfur 8 has been a great help! I do experience some frizz with the WN when I don’t use enough product.
Do you use a protein treatment on it or a deep conditioner?
I did two protein treatments to slow down my shredding, but it was over a month ago. Two weeks apart. I do my deep conditioner treatments once a week on wash day.
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin thank you
How’s the curl perm going for you ?

You’re welcome, I guess my perm was my pandemic thing😂
I recently gave up on the wave nouveau. I had postpartum hair loss and scalp sensitivity. I wouldn't advise any chemicals if you are having health issues
Ditto
I thought protein was something you had to avoid with curly perm. How often do you do a protein treatment?
I did it twice two weeks apart, my stylist thought it was reverse the shedding problem :) it was well over a month ago and I haven’t done it since. I have a video on here about it:)
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin thank you
Yes you're right. No protein or keratin
Yes I am guilty at pulling my hair out in a rush

I am very impressed by the new growth! My hair has never grown so quickly and kept the length!
Also, I can't find your recent video with the cut.
The Cut | 3 INCHES GONE check my hair playlist:)
i have 4c hair and i hate itttt i’m not sure what to do and i want length and defined curls
Gina curl if you’re near a stylist. I would not recommend a wave nouveau.
Everything but wave nouveau, it’s terrible
@@SincerelyMrsGriffin Are you sure about this recommendation? It's all the same. Trust me.

What do you use for protein treatment?
Aphogee, I think the link is in the description :)
Been there done that!!! Lol...🤣🤣🤣
I’m going to get. NW tomorrow. To be honest ima little scared. I have overloaded with information. I heard no protein treatment. Then I hear yes get protein treatment. I don’t know what to do
My stylist said yes to protein treatments. The protein treatment have saved my hair from even more falling out. To much shedding.
Go into it fully informed.
I got the treatment once and won’t be doing any touch ups.
Same, I feel dumb for making the choice to get it. Oh well , you live and you learn I guess.
Damn
Exactly
Wave nouveau🤣 thats sooo 1988
I know right, never again:)
If u think the WN is old, then how old do u think the naturl hair style is??
