Today we're modifying a cheapie crusader helmet into my new signature helmet. VERY simple mod/upgrade, but makes all the difference in the world.

One of the most disturbing and effective helmet pads I've ever seen for crusader helms is a Karate sparring helmet. It tends to fit inside the helmet perfectly and if glued or strapped effectively it helps negate ringing as well as muffles your ears.

I think he meant breathing as in terms of comfortability while wearing it. Like that saying breathing room. I am probably wrong though.

No you are most likely right, he was talking about the helmet being breathable. as in the hot air produced by your body heat having an escape so you dont sweat your head off, also letting the cool air in to help keep your head cool.
the right chin strap design will keep the helm from moving, and make that foam useless.
So I have to brush my teeth. You could use a toothbrush but i'm going to use my angle grinder.

Really? I’ve never seen them in any other paint job than the one he did it in. So I guess white and red would be cooler than the one he did
It doesn't hurt to try and mix it up a little... when you think of crusader you more so think of a nice brass and silver color coats.... at least I do. I like the color scheme and he's gonna end up beating the crap out of it soon anyways...
that's because Crusaders are depicted as the epitome of a holy knight in fiction and artworks, but they were actually quite violent and some were down right cruel, just because they were doing "God's work"
