First I have to say your tutorials are so amazing! You are always in frame, very well spoken & describe things perfectly! I will attempt to describe this but I won't be as clear as you especially using just words. Regarding your tassle & hiding the knot... the string you use to knot the end with, cut it longer, fold it in half & and tie a knot near the end leaving the ends a bit longer than your tassle ends. With the string folded in half, separate the strings placing the long loop on top and bring the tails around to the underneath side of the tassle head and tie a double knot letting the tail blend in. Then take your last string and proceed the way you did making sure the head covers the double knot. Finish the way you do it.. now you have only a loop to take through the book mark with no knots showing. I hope this makes sense!!
I recently bought a maker for my 12 year old daughter who is quite crafty. Thanks to your tutorials we spend quality time crafting together, and I find myself loving crafting as much as she does. Dad's can craft too!
You saved my life. I need to make very simple place cards for my son's upcoming wedding and needed to create it myself. Nothing was working until I watched this. Thank you SO much.
Thank you very much I was looking for a tutorial for days to use the Cricut Foil Kit and this is perfect! You explain everything from scratch, thank you very much
I just pulled mine out today and tried it. Was fixing to send it back until I saw your video. Wish I could show you a pic. THANK YOU SO MUCH for going into detail about the machinetype , pressure, and material. I can't wait to make more projects!!!!
Ms Kayla what a GREAT tutorial!!! This the first time I've watch one of yours. I really appreciate when ppl doesn't rattle on about all different things and just teach.....Thank You! You made this so easy to understand. I am going to go get my materials out and try making one. Thanks again!
Your Tutorial was great! You had my attention the whole time, your are clear and concise. A pleasure to watch and learn from. I've had the foil transfer kit since the day it came out and just didn't know what to do. With this simple idea from you I was finally able to use it with ease. I made two bookmarks within 20 minutes of watching. Thank you!
WHAT A GREAT TUTORIAL I JUST BOUGHT MY CRICUT EXPLORE 3 AND JUST DON´T HAVE A CLUE ALL I CAN MAKE WITH IT. WELL I JUST LEARNED HOW TO MAKE STICKERS... I´LL BE CHECKING YOUR OTHER TUTORIALS TO LEARN MORE AS THIS ONE IS JUST SO SIMPLE TO FOLLOW! FROM GUATEMALA
I have watched so many cricut tutorials and I have to say your explanation and presentation was the best. I am definitely going to subscribe. I can learn a lot from you
Just got the Foil Tool as a gift. The gift giver made a beautiful gift tag for me using her foil tool. I LOVE the look! I really love the bookmark you made...it came out AMAZING! Thank you for making this video and for always explaining everything so well! I completely agree with you and the other viewer...sure hope Cricut makes this and everything compatible with the Design Space app, and with the Joy Machine! Whenever possible, I work completely through the app on my iPad! Thank you again Kayla...always love to watch your channel!
Just take the part of the string where the knot is tied and pull it until the knot ends up in the big bulb area at the top of the tassle. The tassle will still attach to the bookmark the exact same way, but your knot will be hidden inside the bulb on the tassle. Nice clean look. Hope this helps!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your speed is perfect! You are concise and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your tips! I watch tons of videos and get a tiny bit annoyed if it drags on too long. Again, you are a pleasure to watch and listen to! Much appreciated. I will send my friends to your channel as well. Sending a virtual hug!
My hubby just recently got me the Cricut Maker 3, therefore I'm new to the Cricut family and still learning, so thanks for all you great videos. I've been a crafter for over 30 years, but mostly in dollhouse miniatures in 1:12. There's no more room in my house for more dollhouses or miniature shops, so over the last few years, I got into other crafts. Please keep up the good work and thanks so much for sharing ... ❤️ from Germany
I wished I watched your video before attempting to make a birthday card for dad with the foil transfer tool lol, much fustration and innocent trees lost lol Thank you for the awesome video thou, I'll keep the less pressure trick in mind next time I decide to make another card 🤣
I can’t wait to get mine. I just ordered mine yesterday through the home shopping network (hsn.com) I was able to get the foil transfer tool, lightweight mat, Kraft board (30 sheets) , scraping tool, rose color foil all for $46! I almost waited until Black Friday to see if they had any deals but then I found the bundle on HSN. I am not affiliated with HSN and never shopped on the website before but I had to share this great deal with other people who like to save money where they can.
I loved this video, I have had my cricut for a few weeks and not once did i imagine this could be don't with foil!! how pretty! and thank you for sharing with such patience!
Some great tips to know about the foiling tool, as I just ordered one online a few days ago. Sorry that I didn't see this video 1st, as I would've ordered through your link.
Thank you so much for this video Kayla! I finally bought myself the foil kit and am excited to use it. You made it look very simple and easy. And the tassel tutorial? Genius!
Hi Kayla! I just got a Maker and followed your instructions for the bookmark...1st project and turned out great!! Except, somehow I missed the "cutting" out the bookmark part. I apparently just foiled my cardstock and didn't have the Maker set to then cut out the bookmark? Help! What did I miss in the instructions??? Thank YOU!!!
Is this better than cutting the cardstock then foiling using minc? I've had a few things customized using a cricut and I don't find it as pretty as something foiled with a minc. Could I be using the cricut wrong?
Thank you Kayla.. Great video. When I make a bookmark, I simply get a good ribbon I like and cut the ends on a slant and slip the ribbon through the hole. Just another choice. thanks for tips and I want to buy the cricut tool organizer through you. Thanks again.
Do you have issues where the foil doesn’t go fully on the lettering? For some reason mine doesn’t, it gets patchy and i put more pressure on my explore air 2 so idk what I’m doing wrong lol 🙈
Wow...I'm so glad your video came in my feed. My sister gifted me the foil tool set a few months ago and I never tried it. You explained it sooo well. I can't wait to make note cards for her as a thank you.
Lovely project. The Maker tends to need less pressure and I’ve seen a few saying use less than default however I used mine the second time with the foil quill and forgot to change from default pressure on medium cardstock and it worked fine. I love the results it gives
Really nice I got the foil tool still didn’t use it. I love ❤️ your tassels really easy and cute. I’m in a book club I have to make these for everyone! 😍 thanks for the great idea!
Can you cut the foil into shapes without heat transferring it? I'm not going to be putting the foil on paper so I just need to figure out how to cut it
HELP! Great tutorial. Question, for some reason my maker 3 always wants to cut out first and then foil, which makes the process really hard (really hard!) any tips?
Hi! Thank you so much for the vídeo. I cant understand the name of the White paper below the gold foil. Do you mind telling me this? I'm watching with subtitles but the subtitles don't work correctly. Thank you!
purchased the foil kit today and tried for the first few times with medium tip and it didn't seem to transfer very well, do you need to use a heavy cardstock as the one i currently used was pretty thin. cheers
Hey! Thanks for the video... so to hide the knot all you would have to do is tie the knot and then before threading it through the bookmark, spin the thread (that attaches the tassel) so that the knot is hidden inside the tassel. That way when you loop it through at the end, the knot wont be seen and it will be a plain loop!...hope that makes sense!
I was just gifted my first ever cricut machine, the maker 3, and I purchased the foil transfer kit. do you know if it compatible now to the design space app?
Hi Kayla, I love your thorough tutorial! I was able to get my project foil pressed, but I couldn’t get it to go back in to cut my design. My Cricut thought I was done. Do you have any suggestions for that?
Wonderful tutorial! I used it to make a bookmark, too, but I just used medium cardstock. Do you know what the issue is with the foiling? I wanted to make my same bookmark on faux leather next. But when I went to make it, hardly any materials showed up allowing me to select them. If I remove the foiling text box, I can make my project. But as soon as I add the text box with foiling, I can't select any materials. I want to do it on faux leather now.
Hi Kayla, first I wanted to say that i love your creations and I love learning from you. I just wanted to comment on the issue of the knot. I thought that maybe if you just rotate the knot to the inside of the tassel and put a dot of hot glue it can hold it in place and will not be showing as it will be hidden. Let me know if you try it and if you found a better way.
Question with regard to cutting. Is there not a reason why you did not use the deep cut blade? The one that is black. Instead of cutting 4 x's, would it be easier to use the deep cut blade instead? Thanks.
First I have to say your tutorials are so amazing! You are always in frame, very well spoken & describe things perfectly! Then take your last string and proceed the way you did making sure the head covers the double knot. Finish the way you do it.. now you have only a loop to take through the book mark with no knots showing. I hope this makes sense!!
Thank you so much!!! That seems like it will work really well to hide the knot. I’m trying that next time! 😀
I recently bought a maker for my 12 year old daughter who is quite crafty. Thanks to your tutorials we spend quality time crafting together, and I find myself loving crafting as much as she does. Dad's can craft too!
I love this! So wholesome ❤
And grandads

I just wanted you to know I used your link above to purchase the foil kit and saved $20. This video is wonderful. I am a new subscriber!
I love your tutorials, very detailed for a beginner.
Amazing tutorial! So complete! Thanks You for explaining everything so good!
This was so helpful to watch all the steps for foil transfer, but also I didn’t know you could pause and change the pressure! 🤯 🤣 Thank you!
Wonderful tutorial. You have a great teaching talent!
This is one of the best tutorials I have seen. Can't wait to try it out!
This was such a help video I've been having so much trouble with foiling and now you just helped me. Thank you so much
The away you made your tassel was very clever.
I have watched so many cricut tutorials and I have to say your explanation and presentation was the best. I am definitely going to subscribe. I can learn a lot from you
This is the best, easiest, and most inexpensive project for my study group. Thanks, Kayla going to make it now!
You are a wonderful instructor! Thank you!

Thank you so much!!! 🥰I love how pretty the foil is! Yes, I'm really hoping they can, especially with so many people using phones/Ipads.
Just take the part of the string where the knot is tied and pull it until the knot ends up in the big bulb area at the top of the tassle. The tassle will still attach to the bookmark the exact same way, but your knot will be hidden inside the bulb on the tassle. Nice clean look. Hope this helps!
Best video on this subject. Thank you Kayla.

Thank you for that. Yes, I am new to Cricut. I have got a Cricut Marker Machine ❤
Great tutorial! You explain everything so well and give helpful tips. Thanks so much :)
I am so HAPPY I found your channel!!!! ❤
My foil kit is coming today!! Of course I had to stop by your channel( which I love) to help me out TFS I am so excited.
I wished I watched your video before attempting to make a birthday card for dad with the foil transfer tool lol, much fustration and innocent trees lost lol
Thank you for the awesome video thou, I'll keep the less pressure trick in mind next time I decide to make another card 🤣
Can you use foil on clear sticker paper?
Genius on making the tassle!
That came out super cool. I’ll be glad when the foil transfer kit works with the iPad. Thank you so much for sharing! Super easy! ♥️
Thank you so much! 💕 Yes! 😭 Hopefully they will make it compatible with that soon!!
Thanks for teaching me. I purchased the foil maker tool and still have not used it yet thanks for your video you made it seem so easy
Thank you for this great step-by-step tutorial! Very easy to to follow along.
I can’t wait to get mine. Good to know, thank you!

Some great tips to know about the foiling tool, as I just ordered one online a few days ago. Sorry that I didn't see this video 1st, as I would've ordered through your link.
I’m so glad and thank you so much!! 😀
I love how you made the tassel! I've made them before by winding yarn around an object, but this is so much easier!
I thought about making it that way, but found this way instead and it made it so fast and easy! :)
I’m wanting to use this for placing my logo on felt hat sweat bands, how durable and permanent is this?
Is this better than cutting the cardstock then foiling using minc? I've had a few things customized using a cricut and I don't find it as pretty as something foiled with a minc. Could I be using the cricut wrong?
I received my foil kit last week and have been trying to figure out what my first project will be. This is so cute and simple! Thanks for the idea!!
So exiting getting it in the mail! Thank you so much! I wanted to try to think of something different to make with it. 💕
Thank you for this detailed explanation!! I could not figure out how to change it from cut 😅
Gm I was wondering do u have video of the white board that's hanging on ur wall?
Love the tassel
Can you use the scoring stylus instead ?
Thank you Kayla.. Great video. When I make a bookmark, I simply get a good ribbon I like and cut the ends on a slant and slip the ribbon through the hole. Just another choice. thanks for tips and I want to buy the cricut tool organizer through you. Thanks again.
That's a great way to do it! Thank you!! 🥰
Do you have issues where the foil doesn’t go fully on the lettering? For some reason mine doesn’t, it gets patchy and i put more pressure on my explore air 2 so idk what I’m doing wrong lol 🙈
Can you layer different foil colors in the design?
Do I need the foil housing? Can I just use any other housing and just get the foil tips?
Wow...I'm so glad your video came in my feed. My sister gifted me the foil tool set a few months ago and I never tried it. You explained it sooo well. I can't wait to make note cards for her as a thank you.
Fab video but pls could you post the link as I am struggling to find it and only a week to complete a card order I desperately need it for ❤
Wow thank you so much!! Great tutorial and I love your tassel i think it looks perfect the way it is and can't wait to try to make this!
Thank you so much!! 💕
Very nice! Thank you for sharing. You give really clear and easy to understand directions. I am definitely going to try this! ♥
Lovely project. The Maker tends to need less pressure and I’ve seen a few saying use less than default however I used mine the second time with the foil quill and forgot to change from default pressure on medium cardstock and it worked fine. I love the results it gives
Oh yay!!! So glad it worked well with the default. It’s strange how all the machines are a little different lol!
@@KaylasCricutCreations it is. Its definitely worth doing a tiny test cut/foil etc before spoiling a large project
Really nice I got the foil tool still didn’t use it. I love ❤️ your tassels really easy and cute. I’m in a book club I have to make these for everyone! 😍 thanks for the great idea!
I bet you will have so much fun with it, I'm loving the foil tool so far! They would be SO awesome for a book club! ❤️
Hello. Can I use acrylic invitation with this material? To foil on the acrylic
Can you cut the foil into shapes without heat transferring it? I'm not going to be putting the foil on paper so I just need to figure out how to cut it
I just found your page and I love it
Can you move the tie under the loop for the tassel?
That would be a good way to do it! I’ll have to try that next time. :)
HELP! Great tutorial. Question, for some reason my maker 3 always wants to cut out first and then foil, which makes the process really hard (really hard!) any tips?
Can’t wait to foil my wedding invites!
The foil will be perfect for wedding invites!! 💕
May I ask how your invites turned out? How long did it take? How many invites?
Do you need a laser printer for this foil to stick
Hi! Thank you so much for the vídeo. I cant understand the name of the White paper below the gold foil. Do you mind telling me this? I'm watching with subtitles but the subtitles don't work correctly. Thank you!
purchased the foil kit today and tried for the first few times with medium tip and it didn't seem to transfer very well, do you need to use a heavy cardstock as the one i currently used was pretty thin. cheers
Great tutorial!! Is it the same process for stickers??
Hey! Thanks for the video... so to hide the knot all you would have to do is tie the knot and then before threading it through the bookmark, spin the thread (that attaches the tassel) so that the knot is hidden inside the tassel. That way when you loop it through at the end, the knot wont be seen and it will be a plain loop!...hope that makes sense!
just ordered the tool do you have to have the foil placed on card stock to cut it or do you cut it on a cricut matt
Thank you, you did an excellent job explaining it. I’m going to try my out today
Do you know if it'll work with acrylic sheets?
I was just gifted my first ever cricut machine, the maker 3, and I purchased the foil transfer kit. do you know if it compatible now to the design space app?
I loved your video, very informative. Thank you
Hi Kayla, I love your thorough tutorial! I was able to get my project foil pressed, but I couldn’t get it to go back in to cut my design. My Cricut thought I was done. Do you have any suggestions for that?
Can you transfer it onto something so that you can put the foil design on a mug?
Wonderful tutorial! I used it to make a bookmark, too, but I just used medium cardstock. Do you know what the issue is with the foiling? I wanted to make my same bookmark on faux leather next. But as soon as I add the text box with foiling, I can't select any materials. I want to do it on faux leather now.
Love your videos! I just saw this one, do you know if the foil feature is available for using the IPad? I do t have a laptop. Thank you
Is it available for the mobile app now?
Hi Kayla, first I wanted to say that i love your creations and I love learning from you. I just wanted to comment on the issue of the knot. What Cricut machinebmodel did you use in this video?
Hi! Do you know if the Cricut Foil Transfer tool can be used on standard Vinyl (not the printable kind)? I would like to use it for some stickers. :)
Wow amazing 🤩 I almost forgot that I bought the foil kit, and I never use it.. I’ll use it tomorrow for a birthday card..
Could this also be done with a Cricut Joy??
Thanks for that tutorial I needed that . Can I use any foil as I have lots x
Do you print wedding napkins
The bookmark came out so pretty!!! Great looking tassel too. Good job Kayla! ; )
Where did you buy the white tape.
Thank u this was helpful tassel was awesome
Question with regard to cutting. Is there not a reason why you did not use the deep cut blade? The one that is black. Instead of cutting 4 x's, would it be easier to use the deep cut blade instead? Thanks.
I am so happy I found your page. I love it!!!
why doesnt design space look the same for me, i dont have half of the tabs and access at the top?
What are all of the blade you have? I’ve only seen 4 for the explore air 2.
How do you go from less foil pressure to more cut pressure on the maker? When I pause, the only options are quit or resume.
Nice info 🥰 thanks for sharing❤️ Which Cricut model are you using for the demo here?
If I purchase the foil transfer kit will it work the same as the embossing tool?
Lovely bookmark...please can you do a tutorial on how to make a card with foil transfer?
