Simple and to the point video. Not filled with you driving around town and running errands for 20 minutes like a lot of other peoples videos. Thank you
Loved this video. Ive been looking at the msd for a couple months now for my 2000 camaro with only 43k miles!!! Your video definitely sealed the deal on this weeks purchase. Im also in Jersey. Weve got a car club of chargers, challengers and camaros. Mainly 4th gens up in north Jersey!!
Frankie Bailey that’s awesome man. What area in north jersey? I go to a lot of bigger events in nj to film for the channel. And my car has around 44,000 miles now so I’m not to far off from you.
Frankie Bailey ohh nice do you guys have a page or anything. I would love to link up and do a cruise or something. Always looking for other car enthusiasts to work with on the channel.
Not sure if this was mentioned but is the 2 step still active when going into second gear ? Clutch in- active 2Step Gas Pedal- To the floor Gear 1st (manual) Launched and now going into second gear.. Clutch In- active again ?
SAVAGE BOii that’s a good question, the box has the ability to monitor the cars rpms. So I has a build in safety mechanism that will not let the 2step to activate in between shifts. There is a more in depth explanation on MSDs website. But I have never had a problem with the box activating.
SAVAGE BOii awesome man, glad I could help! Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel for more content like this. It helps me do more the more subscribers I have.
William Kirkland a stall converter is on an automatic car. Similar concept though. And a stall converter is not adjustable to my knowledge. Where a two step box is.
After u adjust the rpms on the 2 step do u have to do anything else to it? And also does it have to be adjusted when the car is off? Or does it not matter?
horgech the system is very easy to use, you just change the limit on the dial and that’s it. It’s ready to go. And I don’t think I have ever changed it when the car is running. But I’m sure you can considering mine does not get power until I push the clutch in.
Francisco Ribeiro a trans brake is in a auto, think of it literally like some one grabbing your drive shaft and holding it still. You can rev up and load the torque converter with out moving. Get desired launch torque. 2 step is a rev limiter. Only instead of prevented your engine from grenading, it gives you desired rpm for launch, works well with a trans break and great in stick cars too
Great/Simple Review....And Nice flippin car too lad!!! Thinkin about gettin one of these once my 2000 4.8 Stepside has a few more(Necessary)Go Fast parts.....KeepSafe...
BS_ Racing no it won’t. I have mine wired to the clutch so the box only activates when the clutch is fully depressed and I have the gas pedal pushed hard enough for it to reach the rpm the box is set for. It’s a great set up.
Frost7092 so does it only activate at a stand still ? you just said it activates when the clutch is fully pressed wouldn’t that activate every time you shift ?
Reebok301 301/202 no it won’t activate in between shifts. It’s set up to only activate when the clutch is fully pressed along with the gas being pushed fully. It has an rpm sensor built into it too that makes sure it does not activate while your are just trying to shift. Msd’s website has a good explanation of how it works. I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction I installed it a while ago.
Frost7092 I’m grabbing one for my camaro this week would you put a video up on how to hook it up to the clutch or direct me to a video I can’t find one on someone hooking it to the clutch
Reebok301 301/202 the weather here in jersey has not been the best so I doubt I will be able to this week. There is a wire harness in the left rear corner of the engine bay. On the passenger side of the car. There is a wire you have to tap into. Do a google search for the clutch sensor wire I believe. A forum should come up and people explain what wire to splice into. I think it’s blue if I remember correctly.
How do you wire it to the clutch ? and when you go into other gears does it activate someone help me understand Or does it only work at a stand still in 1st or any gear at a stand still ?
Follow your clutch pedal up and you'll see the safety neutral switch. It's a large button that's pushed down as you push in the pedal. There is a wire going into that switch. You can use that wire. You can also use the wire he use on this video which is in the engine bay where the computer is a gray wire#32. The 2 step activates when the 2 following conditions are met. 1. Your clutch is pushed in. 2. Your RPM's must be below 2/3 of whatever limit you set it at.( if you set it at 3,000 RPM, for 2 step to activate your RPM'S must be below 2,000) So when you go into other gears it can be activated if the 2 conditions are met. Which is unlikely to happen unless your trying to do it.
Silver Ado you can use it on an automatic car if you have an upgraded stall converter that lets you launch the car at a higher rpm. But typically they are used on manual cars.
Nin Zio awesome man, good luck the build check out the rest of the videos on my channel I even have a video about some of the mods that people do to the f bodies. And don’t forget to like this video and subscribe to help the channel grow. Thanks man!

great video simple and to the point no fluff
Very good informative video thanks for making this, I think I’m going to buy one now!
Can this be installed on a Toyota levin 20v ? If so... what’s the msd wiring like?
If you hold the gas pedal to the floor, wouldn't it dump a lot of fuel into the engine?
freddienz68 no the system retards the ignition timing and the engine computer controls the fuel system
You might be thinking it's drive by cable.

I have a 2000 SS camaro automatic. Could I put this an mine? And if so, where can I get it
Sean West it will not really help you in an automatic because your launch rpm is limited by your stall converter.
What's the difference between the 2 step and a trans break?

What kind of air intake is that
Nin Zio it’s made by k&n
@@TheFrost7092 did you see much of a difference with that intake or should I just go with an SLP lid
Nin Zio I would go for the slp lid for sure. With the way the hood on the car is designed it traps heat and just send hot air into the filter.
