It was such a pleasure to "meet" you. I don't have anyone to share stitching stories with either. It's wonderful to see what everyone does. I had been stitching for several years and stopped. It had been so long ago, I don't remember why I stopped. Life. 28 years later, I picked stitching back up a year ago. Like you, I found Flosstube and I was shocked at how much had changed. I was like, wait, what?, I can do that! Here I am, 14 months later and have finished 10 projects, plus 5 little valentine cards for my grandchildren. I'm so happy to have found cross stitch again. Best of luck on your Flosstube. I'll be back!
I could say ditto to this comment. I have returned to cross stitch this year after at least 25 years. Everything is so different but then the same. I had saved all my DMC threads a lot of charts, a few books. Mainly Paula Vaughn. Only have 2 finishes have given many finishes to my friends. Came across Mrs. Smith channel, love it. She really inspires me. Thank you all for sharing.
Your FlossTube just popped up so I watched. Great video! I was like you and I was afraid to try and make my own project bags. I did watch eliabethanncanstitch video to make a project bag, and omg it was the easiest thing I ever made. I made one for my bff and myself and now I am hooked. You need to try. It only took me a couple hours to cut out everything and stitch and that was taking my time. Your Fruits of Plenty is beautiful. I have the pattern and floss (dmc 160 & 930) but have not started it yet. I am working on the 2023 Reaching Skyward Modern Folk Embroidery Sal by Jacob. It also has a lot of heavy stitching butI love it. Can’t wait to watch your next video, I’m on my way there now 😊
Well hello Mrs. Smith from Ontario as well! Your Canadian flag wall hanging caught my eye & I thought you might be Canadian! Yaaayyy, welcome! Beautiful stitching, thanks for sharing!
Congratulations on your flosstube. I enjoyed watching. I am also from a very rural area so I try to keep a good stash to pull from . I was a monogamous stitcher until I found flosstube. I am going to organize this weekend and count how many so I can line them up by my chair. This helps me make sure all are getting some love. (Except the one I gave in time out l)
Nice to hear a familiar Canadian "accent". I'm also in Ontario, closer to London. I love seeing all your projects. We have similar tastes in stitching and I have some of the same ones ready to go. I usually stitch on one project at a time and I'm over half-done a Teresa Kogut chart (Cotswold Fields) at the moment. We are about an hour from the border, so that's convenient for Hobby Lobby, etc. Luckily we have a LNS in London (Stitch-It Central). Keep stitching!
I’m working myself up to sewing project bags. I’m a fan of the old ziploc bag method myself but my cat chews holes and the seal isn’t toddler proof but I am scared of crooked zippers! I’m new into cross stitching (and floss tubing!) and my mom is amazed at the patterns, fancy flosses, dyed fabrics, etc since she had to cross the border to stock up on plain aida and DMC when they lived in Fort Francis
@@Mrssmithstitches I’m trying to learn how to quilt right now. I think I’ve spent more time ripping out seams than anything else. I’m planning on my project bags to just be fabric both sides, I don’t think I’m ready for vinyl!

Hey there, nice to see a fellow Canadian on Flosstube. I’m actually in Ottawa. I started as a monogamous stitch and I am fast approaching the 20 mark as well. I picked up my needle again after about 20 years when COVID hit. I stopped when I had my second, she was a hand full. We now stitch together. Wonderful video and welcome to the neighborhood
Hi! That’s awesome. I love to meet other local stitchers! Seems like there are so many of us that have gotten back into stitching after years of not stitching.
@@Mrssmithstitches I’m really happy to have found your channel. All the information you are sharing about Canadian needleworkers and LNS around the Ottawa area is fabulous. My sister and I are actually are going to take a peek at Wool Tyme tomorrow. I’m so excited!!!
You did a fabulous job with our first Floss Tube. I’m going to make a suggestion for your DMC purchasing. DMC makes a thread card with floss samples of all their colors. It would be a bit of an investment but since you don ‘t have an LNS to go to I think it would be worth it. That way you’d be happier with your color choices. 123 Stitch or most any LNS should be able to get one for you. Be clear that you want the chart with actual floss and not the one with pictures of the floss. I look forward to more of your Floss Tubes.❤
Loved your video visit!! 🩷🌞 Your personality is awesome and you kept making me giggle about all your WIPS, because all of your comments, I could say the exact same thing!!! 😊😊 Your stitching is beautiful and I love your WIPS! I have several of them! We need more stitchy time!! 😉😉
Your first video was wonderful! I can't wait to see the next one. I love, love, love your wips. We have a lot of the same taste. I will be looking forward to your next video! Take care and God bless! ❤
Congratulations on your first video - beautiful job! Im fairly new at age 75 myself and wished I had started earlier! Haven’t even tried linen! I love that you are just you and don’t pretend to keep up with all the other beautiful stitchers! Don’t ever change. Looking forward to #2!
I am very glad I found you. You are doing a great job. I also used to stitch a lot. Life changed, I packed it away. I started again this year. A lot has changed. Flosstube is terrific. Keep going.
Enjoyed your first video! All your projects are beautiful! Zip lock bags work great! I am in Ontario as well and I find that the price of a project bag is hard to justify when the money could be spent on fabric or floss or patterns. We don't have an LNS near us so I tend to shop online as well. For fabric and floss there is a Canadian Etsy seller named Million of Stitches that I have used quite frequently. She is based in Toronto and has very quick turn around time. I think the pandemic has encouraged a lot of retailers to expand to online sales and this is a good thing.
I, like you, don’t often splurge on the fancy flosses, but I laughed when you specified which two fancy flosses you are using on Cinnamon Stars. They are the two colors I chose to swap out on my project, too. I wanted that variegation on my piece and those two spots are going to give the best bang for the money. Thanks for sharing your wips!
Great first Flosstube! I love all your projects. You seem to stitch things that I have or would stitch. Like you I do not have a LNS close by. I order most of my stitching things online. My niece and I travel about 500 miles to Shepherd's Bush in Ogden Utah. It is a wonderful store with great people there. They do ship also! I go down that rabbit hole often! I am looking forward to your next flosstube!

Hi, Elena. You did a good job on your first flosstube. Thanks for sharing. I was going to suggest Wipgo just as you said you were doing it. I do as well with a goal of 5 days of stitching on each number called. I pick 7 or 8 projects and repeat them across the board. It has worked well for me. And I mainly use DMC. I had almost a complete set from my stitching in the 80’s and 90’s and I use a Floss Away bags to store my flosses. Glad to follow another Canadian stitcher. I live in Ontario, north of Toronto. I met Shiloh at Stitch North last year. So nice to meet someone in person that I watch. Keep up the good work, Elena. Christine
Hello. I'm so glad I came over to see your Flosstube after a shout out from Katie, the novel stitcher. You have some pretty WIPs. That Modern Folk Embroidery is stunning!!!
Great first flosstube! Thank you for sharing your lovely projects, beautiful stitching. I returned to stitching after many, many, many years of being away, was so surprised at all the beautiful fabrics and options. I don't have an LNS close or even stitchy friends to share the experience with. The first time I was able to visit an LNS was about a year ago, it was like the most beautiful candy shop I'd ever seen. Have a wonderful week and look forward to your next video.
Hi I loved watching your Flosstube. I have a few projects the same as yours or ready to start..lol! I am also in Eastern Ontario and approximately 4 hours away from Hobby House Needleworks. I managed to get there in January and plan to go in the summer. It is an amazing store and well worth the trip.
Great first flosstube, thanks for sharing your lovely projects. Hello from Melbourne Australia, we really are opposite sides of the world although Canada is number one on my bucket list.
Yes, my stitchy friend; you have fallen into the rabbit hole!! So glad to meet you virtually. I enjoyed seeing your progress on your WIPS! I am also a Virgo September girl! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2023!!
Great first FlossTube! I found you through Sara’s Stitchy Spot - my ears perked up when she said she discovered a new FlossTuber from Ontario. I’m also in the Ottawa area - Stittsville. Your projects are beautiful - I finished A Christmas Rose in January and have Cinnamon Stars in my stash, which I’m looking forward to starting soon. Yours is looking so good. Anyway, welcome to FlossTube! I am looking forward to watching your other videos!
Welcome to Flosstube - great first video and lots of great wip's and projects. I didn't have any stitchy friends when I first started and since doing my own Flosstube I now have not only virtual ones but also some I meet up with! I've also had two friends become really enthused about it because they have watched me and wanted to start stitching. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!
Wonderful first flosstube! I am also a Canadian who lives 25 minutes from the States and use all fun American stores. I don't have an LNS either and 123 Stitch is one of my favs to order from too. I really enjoyed your wips... I have about 4 or 5 of the same wips, including theFruit of Plenty, which I should finish in the next day or two! Keep up the good work!
Enjoyed your video and seeing your WIPs. Our taste in designs is much the same, so I've made note of some to add to my wish list. :-) Thanks for sharing.
Glad to meet you! I love your WIPS! I have some of the same ones or want to do some, so it's good to see yours. I may live in the states but I also don't have any face-to-face stitching friends. I get many of the same funny looks if I mention cross stitch. I love flosstube. My closest LNS is over an hour away and I go 2-3 times a year. They don't have everything but they are growing. Most of my stash comes from online and I feel your pain about choosing colors. Your first flosstube was great! I'll try to catch up.
Lovely to meet you! I am working on Fall on the Farm by Little House Needleworks also. Love it! I have about 20 WIPs with seventeen more that I want to do. I look forward to seeing you progress. Thank you for brighten my gray day.
Welcome!!! Love your WIP parade!!! The large ones are especially lovely but I could never do anything like that. My eyes wouldn't let me. I"m a 14 count Adia person. I do enjoy it so much. We've had a strange winter and spring in NW Florida where I live. One day it's freezing and the next the temps are in the 90's. The pollen has been so bad. We're gearing up for the HOT temps and High humidity that's coming. I so dread it. I do much better in cooler weather. I love our winters. Fall is usually hot so that's why I look forward to winter so much. Looking forward to your next Floss Tube.
Your first flosstube was fabulous! I loved all of your WIPs. I live in Cornwall, ON, and like you don't know anyone in real life who stitches! I watch a lot of flosstube while I stitch. Our shopping habits are very similar, with my LNS being Hobby House Needeworks - I went over the Christmas holiday, and loved it! Your Canadian Flag quilt was very eye-cathching. Congratulations on the first flosstube...well done! Natalie
Thank you so much!! I was just in Cornwall a few weeks ago for work training! It’s about an hour from where I am. I’m so glad to hear that you love Hobby House! I am super excited to get there one day. Hopefully soon!
😊❤l enjoyed your first flosstube Mrs Smith Stitches. I do mostly cross stitch too, love your projects. Carolann from Duluth, Mn, by Lake Superior and year of 140" of snow😮. Melting and making such a mess.😢 l just started using Silks, enjoying 😮, but oh so expensive, won't keep buying
I super enjoyed your first flosstube you did really well!! Hobby House is my LNS! I live about 35 min south of them and love going there so much. PS: if would consider staying with strangers--we have a guest room/private bath in our home...save ya a bit of $ for more stitchy stuff!! We live in Livonia, NY near Conesus Lake (one of the Fingerlakes) Henrietta has Hobby Lobby, Target, Michael's, Joann's...pretty much anyplace you'd like to explore. Of course you would need at least a couple days to do all that!! Looking forward to more of you tubing adventures, Vic
So nice to meet you both, and I as well have no near stitchy friends, and my nearest LNS is Hobby House, but I have never been!! It is my list and would love to join you or offer my house as well as a midpoint stop- I live in a big old farmhouse in Medina, an hour west of Hobby House, an hour from Niagara Falls. I just also had my first grandchild, watch Floss tube all the time instead of TV. It would be great to meet you both some day! Happy stitching!! And I look forward to your next video.😊 Lisastitches21.
Hello, it’s great to meet you. Your stitching is beautiful. I sure hope that you manage to focus on some of those pieces to finish them. It’s going to be such a motivator when the first one is completed. I just watched a video from Kathleen from Hands On Designs and her tutorials are wonderful for showing how to frame a piece. Also Helen D has great finishing tutorials along with Vonna P. I’m sure one day you will attempt finishing your pieces and you will find that you can save more money to use for buying more!😂 I sure wish deliveries between the US and Canada was more efficient and speedy. I have a niece that lives in BC and I really have to do some planning when sending birthday and Christmas cards to her and her girls. I can’t imagine having to wait for stitching supplies 😲. Great video, I look forward to the next one.
I loved your first flosstube! I had to laugh because I stitch in the month too. Once it is Spring, I could never stitch in Winter things, they are dead to me! Even though Michigan is still really chilly in April! Great job, keep up the great work!
I just discovered your channel and I just love it! I have added a couple of new charts to my 123 stitch cart thanks to your WIP parade. You have excellent taste! Looking forward to catching up on your videos this weekend.
Enjoyed your video. We are planning a trip to Niagra Falls this summer and I am hoping to work Hobby House into one of our stops. As I was watching your video my stitching project is let Love Reign by Teresa Kogut. Your story spooked me, and I stopped and remeasured to ensure my fabric would be wide enough. Thank goodness it was. Lol. Your piece by Modern Folk Embroidery is so pretty. Blue is my favorite color. I have been tempted to start that one. I look forward to future videos.
Oh my Gosh - your video just showed up in a list while I was watching videos - and the quilting behind you looked like the Canadian flag so I had to stop by. I also live just outside Ottawa and I am thrilled to "meet" you - congrats on your first video! I did not realize Hobby House Needleworks was within driving distance of Ottawa and it looks like such a beautiful place for a visit :)
You will be so happy to get your cinnamon stars in your fall on the farm done and displayed in your home! I love mine so much that I think it’s what I look forward to the most about fall decorating!
Hi! Katie, The Novel Stitcher, sent me here and I’m so happy she did! So nice to meet another stitcher my age. 😊 I feel like everyone is 20 years older or 20 years younger than me. 😂 I’ll be 47 in September. I love your stitching and your projects - love the variety of styles! Welcome to Flosstube. I’ll definitely be watching more!
Great first flosstube! It’s always exciting to come across a new Canadian flosstuber!! You’ve got lots of great projects. I’m a Flosstuber too, I’d love for you to come over!
Great job! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful projects! I am in the same boat your are . I have no stitchy friends or an Lnf. Floss tube has been a life changer & loving every minute!
Congrats on your first Flosstube! I am a fellow Canadian, living in Oshawa, Ontario. Came back to crossstitching during the Pandemic, and you are right... how it has changed!! I don't have any stitching buddies close by, so flosstube keeps me Company as I stitch. Looking forward to your next episode.
@@Mrssmithstitches Yes, it has changed a lot. We moved here 5 years ago from Port Hope. I used to own a Quilt Shop in Port Hope, which I closed during the pandemic. If you are down this way again, maybe we can get together for coffee or stitching?? Would love that..

Congratulations on your first floss tube video. I really enjoyed your presentation and your work, which is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Great first video! We have so much in common. We are basically the same age, I grew up in eastern Ontario, I started stitching as a young teenager, and I remember when all you could get were kits. I stitched on and off until the pandemic when I, too, found Shiloh and discovered all the amazing patterns and floss and fabric. It was a revelation. Now it's my primary hobby. So fun to watch you and I always love a good WIP parade. Looking forward to the next one. :)

congrats on your first flosstube!! Can't wait to follow along!.
Thank you! 😊
That is awesome! I can’t wait to see it in person!
Great first flosstube, thanks for sharing your lovely projects. Hello from Melbourne Australia, we really are opposite sides of the world although Canada is number one on my bucket list.
Hello!! Australia is actually #1 on my bucket list too!! I’m just not sure I could handle that long if a flight 😬
A lovely first flosstube! With love from the UK.
Thank you! 😊
Yes, my stitchy friend; you have fallen into the rabbit hole!! So glad to meet you virtually. I enjoyed seeing your progress on your WIPS! I am also a Virgo September girl! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2023!!
Thank you so much!!
Great first floss tube. Look forward to seeing your stitching progress
Thank you!!
Hello! So nice to meet another local stitcher!!
Thank you so much! How wonderful for you to have made so many new friends!
Hello!! Thank you so much for watching!
Lovely flosstube. Fun to see all your WIPs and you seem so nice and real- keep going!
Thank you so much!
Enjoyed your video and seeing your WIPs. Our taste in designs is much the same, so I've made note of some to add to my wish list. :-) Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Found you, subscribed, and then watched. Welcome to Flosstube! You did well. Looking forward to watching some more.
Thank you so much!!
Lovely to meet you!
I am working on Fall on the Farm by Little House Needleworks also. Love it!
I have about 20 WIPs with seventeen more that I want to do.
I look forward to seeing you progress.
Thank you for brighten my gray day.
Thank you so much! You are so sweet!
Hi Hun. Great video. I have loads of wips too....another serial starter. Lovely projects. Take care. Xx
Thank you!
Thank you so much! I often dream of living in Florida in wintertime here. But I know I wouldn’t be able to handle the heat you get in the summer!
Delightful first video 🙋♀️🇨🇦
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Its nice to meet you!
Hello from England. A very enjoyable flosstube. You have some amazing wips.
Thank you! 😊
Oh my goodness that is so generous of you ❤❤. I will definitely keep that in mind if I get a chance to come that way!!
I like your channel and progress. Can't wait to see your progress. I love flosstube too.
Thank you so much!
Great job on your 1st flosstube. You have some great pieces that your working on. Nice to meet you, can't wait to get to know you more.
Thank you so much!
I’m sure one day you will attempt finishing your pieces and you will find that you can save more money to use for buying more!😂
I sure wish deliveries between the US and Canada was more efficient and speedy. I have a niece that lives in BC and I really have to do some planning when sending birthday and Christmas cards to her and her girls. I can’t imagine having to wait for stitching supplies 😲.
Great video, I look forward to the next one.
Thank you! I will make sure to watch those tutorials
I loved your first flosstube! I had to laugh because I stitch in the month too. Once it is Spring, I could never stitch in Winter things, they are dead to me! Even though Michigan is still really chilly in April! Great job, keep up the great work!
Thank you! Nice to meet another seasonal stitcher!
Just came across your channel. Beautiful stitching
I just discovered your channel and I just love it! I have added a couple of new charts to my 123 stitch cart thanks to your WIP parade. You have excellent taste! Looking forward to catching up on your videos this weekend.
Thank you so much!!
You made a great first video. I love all your wips. I have many of the same charts. I'm looking forward to more videos to come!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! I'm so glad your fabric was big enough! It was no fun at all to have to start over!
Just watched your first video and I'm hooked. Love your presentation and your beautiful work. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Take care
Thank you so much!
Welcome to FlossTube! I enjoyed seeing your WIPs.
Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed your first flostube. Looking forward to the next❤
Thank you 😊
Oh my Gosh - your video just showed up in a list while I was watching videos - and the quilting behind you looked like the Canadian flag so I had to stop by. I also live just outside Ottawa and I am thrilled to "meet" you - congrats on your first video! I did not realize Hobby House Needleworks was within driving distance of Ottawa and it looks like such a beautiful place for a visit :)
Hello fellow Ottawa stitcher!! So nice to meet a local stitchy friend! I was excited to learn that Hobby House was so close too!
Floss tube will LOVE you! Good luck! Nice job!
Thank you!😊
You will be so happy to get your cinnamon stars in your fall on the farm done and displayed in your home! I love mine so much that I think it’s what I look forward to the most about fall decorating!
Yes!! I can’t wait. They are both so lovely
Yay! Thank you so much for watching!!
Welcome to flosstube! Enjoyed your WIP parade and will be watching to see your progress! Happy stitching! Lori at Once Upon a Stitch

Great job! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful projects! I am in the same boat your are . I have no stitchy friends or an Lnf. Floss tube has been a life changer & loving every minute!
Thank goodness for flosstube!! I love watching everyone’s different projects!
Awesome first video! Love to find a Canadian flosstube. I'm from PEI, and Hobby House is also on my bucket list! Your WIP parade was awesome!!
Thank you so much!! I have never been to PEI but it is on my list to visit!!
Enjoyed your flosstube, you have so many of the same projects as I have on the go … I also a Canadian
Thank you! Nice to meet you
Congrats on your first Flosstube! I am a fellow Canadian, living in Oshawa, Ontario. Came back to crossstitching during the Pandemic, and you are right... how it has changed!! I don't have any stitching buddies close by, so flosstube keeps me Company as I stitch. Looking forward to your next episode.
Thank you so much! We lived in Oshawa in the late 90s. We were back there a few weeks ago and it has changed a lot too!
@@shahenafredricks9385 no way! My husband grew up in Cobourg! Such a small world. A stitching day sounds like a great idea. I will mess you if I ever get back that way!
Great job on your first video! You just popped up in my feed tonight. I'll be going over to #2 very soon.
Thank you so much!
Welcome to Floss Tube! I loved your video. You are so easy and fun to listen to. Love your projects. You are a beautiful stitcher 😻!
Thank you so much!😊
Welcome! Love to see what you have been working on. :)
Thank you so much!!
Enjoyed your first video! I will be back for your next video-you remind me so much of my daughter. I am getting back to cross stitch after many years and find it is a whole new world. Still glad I can stitch at the age of 75. You have brightened my day!
Thank you so much. That is so sweet of you to say 😊
Welcome, you’re a great addition to FlossTube, enjoyable to watch. And hearty welcome to the « rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 » 😅😊
Looking forward to following your progress in your lovely WIPs.
Cheers from a neighbour in Montreal, Quebec 👋
Thank you so much!
Love your video & all your work. After seeing your Blackbird Christmas Rose, I had to pause the video and head over to 123 Stitch to order it.

Thank you so much!
Good job! Can not wait to see more. I love your WIP. I have have the same likes
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness! It’s so nice to meet you! We do have so much in common
Great WIP PARADE!!! Welcome to the flosstube community 🫶🏽🫶🏽🌻🌻🌻🧵
Thank you!! 😊
I really enjoyed you Flosstube! I also am 47 years old, I have two grown children that are both married and an 8 month old grandson. That is such a fun age.
Loved the your WIP parade and can’t wait for your next video.
Oh my goodness! 8 months is such a fun age. I am loving it so much!!
Just found your channel and I have subscribed. So nice to have another fellow Canadian on Flosstube. I plan to work my way through all your videos. Cheers.
Thank you so much!!
Great first video - going to see this relationship will be problematic - I bought The Winter Garden.... just.... had..... to .... have.... it.... LOL Hello from Michigan, your neighbor !
😂😂. I’m happy to have helped enable you! 😂
Hi I am from Ottawa - live in Ohio now. You said just outside of Ottawa - my Sister lives in Orleans. Good luck with your flosstube.
Thank you!!
Your Flosstube videos are so encouraging and makes me happy! Your pay it forward idea is so insightful and inspirational. I would love to see.
Thank you so much! you are so sweet!
You did such a wonderful job! I believe you are a natural flosstuber. I’m looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much!
Great video. Looking forward to more.
Thank you!!
Welcome to Flosstube. I really enjoyed getting to know you and seeing your projects. You did a great job with your first video, you are a natural. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much!
Loved your 1st Flosstube & subscribed! If I can make a project bag with a zipper after not using a sewing machine in 40 years and NEVER having sewn in a zipper, I bet you can too! I followed Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch’s tutorial, and while my bag isn’t perfect, it serves the purpose! Go for it!
That is awesome! One of these days I will try a project bag for sure!
