ok - I like added 5 new stitchy things to my 1-2-3 wish list. LOL. Enjoyed this floss tube !!!!
😂. Happy to help enable fellow stitchy friends!!
I’m returning to stitching and wasn’t to make project bags. Not a sophisticated sewer either, but found this you tube that seems easy and simple to customize: “DD’s Easy Vinyl Front Project Bag With Nicole Reed.”
I am near Cornwall. Ann at Knowlwdge and Needles in Brighton is reopening her shop I believe this weekend for Nashville Market releases. She goes South for the winter. There is also Stitch Wit in Orleans, in her home. I ordered dmc floss and gridded fabric from her. Also, Textured Tresures is in Orleans also in her home. She has threads, Mill Hill kits, canvas work, etc. I had my orders shipped from both of them as it was a lot easier for me. They all have great service. Wool Tyme is great for browsing and a good selection of goodies to see in person. I miss the Cross Stitch Cupboard days. I am tempted to join the Plum Street sal. Already joined the Shannon Christine one but have not started yet. Looking forward to your next video.
I just discovered Ann! I placed an order with her today 😊
I have Oct 31 and I love it. I did change the blue in the bird to purple. It is turning out so gorgeous.
That sounds beautiful! I can’t wait to start!
Ok so I went straight online and purchased this joyous season and the called for floss. Just need to get the fabric and I am good to start the sal. Enjoyed watching you and your channel.
Yay!! I’m so excited to have you start with us!
Love your progress on your wips. As far as I know, Wool-Thyme does not hold any stitchy days. I also live in Ottawa. Happy stitching!
Hello! No I don’t think they do. Maybe if we get all the Ottawa stitchers together we can convince them to host one😂
Hello from London Ontario…. If you need fancy floss I have a great LNS called Stitch It Central who carry so many of the specialty flosses and fabrics and have on line ordering. You don’t have to order from the states and get hung up with customs. Love your stitchy enthusiasm.
Thank you for that! I am off to check them out!
I was just about to mention Wool Thyme also. It has DMC and some fabric as well. Hope you will find something that works for you there.
It was great! I will be back there to shop for sure!
Mistakes add character to your own project! As you said...no one will know! 😊 Yes!! I love that chart and I will join in!! Oh boy
...not sure I can keep up! I am a slower stitcher. Yep...that would be me, could open my own shop...lol...I say I am planning for retirement...😂🤣
😂😂. There are just so many things to buy! I’m sure a few of us could open our own shops!!
I was going to suggest Wool Thyme, it was a wonderful surprise for me, when Michaels was completely out of most of the DMC floss I needed. I’m hoping they will hopefully carry more products, maybe your flosstubes will help! Thank you, I’m so thrilled to find a floss tuber in my area. Ottawa Stitchers Unite!!
Ottawa stitchers unite! I love that!! So fun to get to see how many of us there are!!
I want to second using Mary Ellen’s Best Press to remove wrinkles. Spray from the back, not the front.
Thank you! I did get so. But I haven’t tried it yet
Lovely projects. I have the little house neighborhood all kitted up and ready to go for a SAL with my best friend, just don’t know when we’re actually going to be able to start it. Lol.
Thank you!
It was lovely to sit and stitch and listen to you today - as someone who lives at the butt end of nowhere (NZ) I hear you on the customs dramas! I ordered from 123 recently and wow 5 days from Chicago to Auckland! Amazing! Then ten days to travel down country to me, which is a 90 minute flight LOL Crazy!! Hope you get all the work done quickly and easily, can imagine it was an awful drama at the time too. Have a lovely weekend! Nic x
Thank you so much! Crazy how the Mail works sometimes isn’t it?😂
Hi! I enjoyed your floss tube and I so appreciate that you do not have tons of stash. I'm new to stitching and I'm trying hard to not go overboard. I watched a floss tube (?) that recommended using spray starch on your cross stitch to facilitate removing the wrinkles. I tried it and it did work. I bought mine from Joann's - maybe the video was from that product...
Thank you for watching!! Someone else had mention a spray to use for getting out the wrinkles. I am going to try that to see if I can get it to work!
Thank you❤ loved your video. Like you I don’t have any stitch friends, so it’s lovely to have virtual ones. I live in Wales, and am blessed to have a really good LNS in the next village , that might actually be too big a temptation😮
I love seeing anything about Canada, we have visited Ontario 3 times, Ottawa once . I particularly enjoy Blackbird designs , but now have some other plans thanks to you. Xx
Thank you so much! I would love to visit Wales. My husbands grandfather was born there but none of the family has ever been back. The home where is was born is still there and it’s on my husband’s list of places he would love to see!
Oh goodness - you have pushed me to start my own Flosstube. I too have been hesitating, but you’ve convinced me to jump in. So next week, watch for it!!
Yay!! That is so exciting!
I am so sorry your package is stuck in Customs. Hopefully it will process soon. Thanks for showing the Shannon Christine designs your are stitching they are really cute. I’ll watch out for them.
Thank you! They are super cute
Nice to see you again. I'm sorry your package is stuck in customs. That would be frustrating. You had me adding patterns to my wishlist. I had not seen the Sampler season patterns before. Hope you get your package soon. Take care.
Thank you so much!!
I agree; this community is fantastic! Cheers from Calgary!
Thank you!!
I have been thinking of starting a flosstube... but i dont know how to start! You are making me want to try!! Keep up the good work :)
I really enjoyed this. It's not just customs that mess up our orders. Simple deliveries too. I have a package that's expected here in three or four days...Los Angeles to Phoenix. I could drive it in six hours! I love the Shannon Christine but I really don't need another project. I have so many and I just started Monopoly. But of course, I'll check it out. I can't find an 'add to cart' button for the club. I wonder if she closed it.
I don’t think the club is closed. Can you message her through Facebook?
@@Mrssmithstitches I could try that.
Lovely to see you again! Beautiful work.
Hoping your house is fixed soon.
Happy stitching!😊
Thank you so much!!
Just found your channel you have some lovely wips. I love the Shannon Christine thankful so cute. Beautiful quilt in the background! I started quilting 2 years ago and love it😀
Thank you so much!!
Okay you have enabled me 😊. Like I need another WIP but I ordered the summer sampler. Had never seen those patterns before. Beautiful. Can’t wait to get and kit it up 😊 Very much enjoying your channel ❤
Yay!! They are so beautiful!! It’s always fun to enable another stitchy friend 🤣
Gorgeous stitching. Xx
Thank you so much!!
Oh, love your videos! I use mostly DMC also and fancy floss on the the larger bits.
Thank you so much!
Would enjoy the SAL, may be the problem child who doesn't keep up, but sounds fun! Enjoying your videos. I live 2 to 3 hours from any LNS, and just discovered two ladies (in the DMC section of HL) in my area and we talked forever!!! Thinking of trying together bi weekly!!! I almost fainted!
That would be so fun! I would love a regular get together with stitchy friends!
I am soooo glad you came back!!! I love your stitching and hope you continue sharing. Sending you loads of love from Tanya Hughes in Perth Western Australia xxxx
Thank you so much!!
I feel your frustration and stress about your package. I had that happen once this past winter as well. It did eventually come so I was so relieved. Most orders from the same place cave come so quickly I was surprised when that happened.
I live in central BC Canada.
And by the way I am so thrilled to be subscribed to a fellow Canadian's floss tube.
Great content.
Thank you so much!!
I also have the Time for All Seasons #10 and I was thinking about changing the white pumpkin to orange colors for some pop. The Turkey #11 and Squirrell #9 are so cute too (they are in my Etsy cart saved). I have stitched a couple of other Cottage Garden Stitches and they turned out great. I like to do them on 20 count 1 over 1. Your huge blue sampler is AMAZING!
Thank you so much! I was thinking of changing the pumpkin to orange colours too. But I’m not sure about choosing my own colours 😬
I would like to join the stitch. Have to rush over to Wool Thyme to see if they have the pattern...lol.
I hope they still have it!!
Just found your channel. Love your stitching. It is beautiful. I love your idea for the sal. Keep us posted!!
Thank you so much! I will keep you posted for sure!
Beautiful projects, you first sampler is so awesome, I love it ❤️and I’m also a big fan of Plum Street designs and thank you for sharing, blessings ❤️🇬🇧
Thank you so much!!
I don't know if you r package is stuck in US or Canadian customs, but that is so frustrating! Especially because there is no one you can call to account. Hopefully someone will notice it and send it on its way. I enjoyed seeing your progress and your haul.
It is through customs now! So hopefully it will be here soon!
Glad to see you again ! great second flosstube - you are a natural at it - I have not been to Wool thyme yet but after seeing your charts - I will be going soon. I knew they had DMC but did not know about all the charts. I would love to join in your SAL. Look forward to your next video :)
Hello! I was super surprised by how many charts they had! So glad you will be joining the SAL!
Really good videos you are doing (I get the 'just a couple times a month' thing... no way would I be able to churn out projects quick enough!) I love Plum Street Samplers also and you "This is the Day" is looking great!
Thank you so much!!
Loved this episode. Beautiful stitching.
Thank you so much!!😊
Oh I just had that waiting happen with a package from 123 Stitch. It sat at the same place for a month, and I contacted them and they said to give it up to a month and a half. It did finally show up, but boy is that a stressful situation. I hope yours shows up too!!
Love your SAL idea but what about starting it June 25th at the six months to Christmas mark- would give a bit more time for stitching that house🤣
That is true!! I was thinking July just because of Jolly July🤣. I usually try to stitch Christmas in July !
Great second floss tube! I would love to know more about the lingo you use. I know what is SAL is but wipgo I'm not sure of.
Thank you! Wipgo is from Jessie Marie Does Stuff. She has a Flosstube as well. And there is a Facebook group if you search it. It kind of like a bingo board where you place all your Wips (works in progress) and Jessie picks 2 numbers a month and you stitch those pieces
Loved your second video! And, how frustrating to have your delivery stuck in customs. I know all of us wait with great anticipation the arrival of our ordered treasures! I have a suggestion with respect to your concern about the wrinkles you are having difficulty getting to iron out. Vonna Pfeiffer has (another) great tutorial dedicated to ironing cross stitch pieces. She uses a product called ‘Mary Ellen’s Best Press.’ It works wonders for her. I have it on my shopping list. She has other tips on ironing XStitch. It is called ‘Finishing School - Back to Basics Episode 1.’ The tutorial is three years old, but I recently saw the product at a quilting store, so it must be safe. Good luck! Kathy Hawkins
Thank you so much Kathy!! I am off to watch that tutorial now! I still have hope that my package will arrive soon! Thank you so much for watching!!
@@Mrssmithstitches ❤️
Your MFA Fruit of Plenty is gorgeous! I love blue! I actually picked out the floss and fabric for it a long time ago, but I am so intimidated by it's size! Hope you get your package soon, maybe you could call them to check on it?? Happy Stitching!
Thank you Carolee! You should definitely start the Fruits of Plenty! It is big, but I just look at it as a long term project. Then I’m not as stressed to finish it. It is so much fun to stitch!
Well…I didn’t have the Sampler of the Season patterns….but I do now! 😳 And I was able to find another pattern I’ve been looking for on countrystitches as well, so it was worth it. Though my card almost caught on fire, lol. Thanks for another great video.
Yay!! I loved them as soon as I saw them!! Happy to enable another stitchy friend 🤣
I did not know that they have a stitching group in Ottawa....Please give details.
If you search Ottawa area cross stitch groups on Facebook it should pop up! I am one of the admins for the geoup
I have had a kerfluffle with 123 Stitch as well. Actually, this has happened to me twice. This latest time I made an order on December 1st and it shipped December 8th. It got to Carol Stream IL on December 11th and has never left there. It's still showing as at that facility as of today. 123 Stitch said they could not follow up with the shipper even though there was a tracking number. They eventually agreed after several emails with their customer service to re-ship the package at no charge to me and the package re-shipped December 21st. It did arrive on January 4th. Needless to say, the Christmas gifts were late so I gave pictures of what was in transit to the my daughter instead of the actual items. My daughter is currently watching an order that has stalled as well so I am very hesitant to order from them again and even if I pay more, I will try to order from elsewhere.
Oh dear. I have normally had really good luck with them in the past. I’m so sorry to hear about your issues too!
Hi Alana! I’m so happy to visit you again! You are an amazingly talented lady!!😘well what have you been up to? Let’s see… I love everything!♥️
Thank you so much!!
I’ve seen other people that have their fabric on one rod and you showed one project too. Anyways how do you stitch with one rod? Can you show how you stitch that way? I like that you can roll it up when you aren’t working on that project. I like your flosstube!
Hi! Yes I can do that in the next video. I don’t use my bars as often as I used to. Mostly because I would need so many to switch between projects!
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 I would love to stitch This Joyous Season with you, should be enough time to organise the fabric as it’s hard here to get specific fabric quickly.
That would be wonderful!!
Hi, I'm Marion from Toronto. Nice to have another Cdn to watch. I'm sorry to hear of all your water damage. We were very fortunate this time around with the storms. When you mentioned your package stuck in customs, i was relieved that it has happened to someone else (sorry it happened) and they're not picking on me. I have a large and very expensive package of mostly linen, that has been stuck at customs since the beginning of April and now the customs agents are on strike, so it will be who knows how long before it is released. My LNS doesn't have a very large linen selection and doesn't carry any of the specialty fabrics at all, so I depend on 123 stitch. Well, I wish us both good luck in getting our packages. See you next time.
Thank you! Im so sorry to hear that you have a package stuck too! I hope yours gets resolved quickly as well!
Got my package, but had to pay $28 in duties for my linen😢
Another great video! I'd love to be part of the SAL 😊.
As far as stitching 1 over 1 on 40 count, no way could I do that! I'm currently working on a full coverage piece stitching 1 over 1 on 22 count, and that is challenging for my older eyes! I def need good magnification for that one! I dont usually decorate for Halloween either, but I've decided to try to get something stitched for this year.
Yay! I’m so happy you want to join the SAL! It’s such a beautiful piece. I definitely think I need to rethink my fabric choice for the summer sample. Even with all the magnification I don’t think I can do 1 over 1 on 40 😳
What color threads are you using for the big Fruits of Plenty? It is so my colors and I want to start it. Thanks
Hello! I’m using 798 & 799. DMC
Lovely video.
Greetings, Clara from The Netherlands
Thank you so much!
And now I've added the "A time for all seasons" pattern set to my list! I mean, I've added a ton more from your video, but those ones are my fav right now!
An idea for your sal hashtag: #JoyousStitchByXmasSAL ?? Idk, might be too off the mark, but it's unique, lol!
That’s awesome!! I love to help enable 😂. Great Sal name! Thanks!
You have a great channel. I just recorded my 2nd flosstibe also!
Thank you! I am off to watch yours as well!
If anything could convince me to do a big monochrome piece, it’s you MFE piece. I should add that I’m a renter so I don’t have the option of big pieces hanging on the walls, and honestly my family is not really interested in my stitching so I am sort of stuck with what I do.
Customs, can you contact them? Maybe they have lost it, or sent it off to the wrong place and just not updated the tracking. Well wishing you good fortune with it. I had a similar experience the package never came and after communication with the seller, I was refunded.
Thank you so much! I think I am going to give it another week and then see if there is somewhere I can call.
Love you! Do you walk as fast as you talk?
😂😂. Yes I do!!
Are you attending Stitch North 2023?
Sadly no 😢. I am really hoping to go next year!!
But cross stitch is embroidery! I belonged to an EGA chapter for years until it folded many years ago now…but we didn't have to do anything but cross stitch…others did do various embroidery genres but you didn't have to do anything but what you were comfortable with. 😀

❤
Wow! Beautiful patterns!! I have only done one sampler in my entire life. Lolz. I frogged itn and re-stitched it. It was a stamped sampler from maybe the 70’s maybe was my moms at one time.
I wanted to let you know that you should apply to monetize your channel you already haveb1000 subs now you need 400 warchbtime hours - you may have that already. It’s in the creator studio to apply you will have to haven a two step authentication log in with google and change your videos to “no, it’s not made for children.” Click to get an email when you qualify then After that they will send you a notification to become a partner to start earning an income to buy more products etc.
Short reels actually do really well on YT than insta. A clip of 15 seconds to 60 seconds of your pieces up close then span out to see the whole piece do real well. I was surprised at how many watch time hours and new subs I have gotten from the shorts.
Utilize the community tab too. Create a post from the upload link. You can share vids, link, photos, pollls and quizzes. Anything new you can use will have YT algorithm show your stuff to more and more people.
Tysm for sharing!!
Thank you so much for all of the tips! I’m learning so much these last few weeks!
A SAL with you would be so fun! Which pattern are you thinking of hosting?! 😊
I am going to do A Joyous Season by Plum Street Samplers!
