I just received the pure perfume in the purse spray after remembering seeing this particular review during a livestream. And WOW! My perception of No5 has changed dramatically. Everyone needs to smell this! Ethereal is the perfect descriptor for me. I definitely understand the other concentrations and flankers better after putting my nose on this. The top notes are to die for and those mid notes are simply heaven. This is definitely where it’s at. Thanks, Dacob!
Told ya'! The parfum is where its at! Its the place where it all begins and its the place where it all ends. Bottom line! I love it!
I just got a 2022 purse spray of the parfum, and it's simply beautiful. And yet, "ethereal" isn't the word I would use to describe it. There's something strangely grounding and comforting about it to me, like wrapping myself in fleece on a cold day.
I hope to God Chanel Nº5 never gets discontinued. I’m extremely paranoid watching many houses (businesses in general) failing the last 3 years, or some houses ceasing distribution where I live, but I must say Nº5 is my all time favourite. I’m currently at 31 bottles of Nº5… lol…
Don’t you worry. I think No5 would be one of the last perfumes on the planet to get discontinued…
as soon as i heard from you about new parfum batches being not so good, i was worried because i was going to get my first bottle for christmas, in fact i just bought it yesterday, im so glad youre liking the new batch and i cant wait to actually try it out for myself! also this was such a good video i wish i couldve tuned in for the livestream yesterday

smelling is a divine, fresh and timeless fragrance. Although, far from the 1970s version. Still, has the spirit of N•5

Dacob, your reviews are so eloquent and beautiful. They don’t just educate me but transform me to a different time. So peaceful! You should really do sleep stories (total complement - you don’t put me to sleep). Anyway I bought an older tiny sealed bottle of Chanel 19. There is some evaporation. Crossing my fingers - it has yet to arrive!

Chanel extraits are ridiculously expensive, but heavenly. I've only ever owned the 6 batch code of no. 5 pure perfume so glad to hear it is not inferior. I do wish it was stronger though.
Mine is super strong... You need the spray version though to get the right amount of juice on the right spots. The dabber version sometimes needs a few more dabs than one would think ;) xoxo

Thank you Isabel 💖🙏🏻 The chanel batch codes repeat every eight years or so and have four digits. This year we are at the 7xxx . Eight years ago more or less we were at the 7xxx digits too. 2021 was the 6xxx year. And so on… xoxo

I love Chanel no 5 extrait! It was such a strange experience when I decided to suddenly go for it! Well, now EDT is the only concentration I haven't got, I remember I loved its opening when tested it in the shops, and then there was something which disagreed with me, and I forgot what it was. At the beginning of this year I chanced to buy a vintage edt, but it was turned, so i returned it. From time to time I keep coming back in my thoughts to EDT due to my eternal respect to Ernest Beaux, but I keep forgetting what was there in it which i did not like... Btw, I do recommend you a book by Constantin Weriguine Souvenirs et parfums, it also exists in Russian (Константин Веригин "Благоуханность"), the author used to work for Chanel and was friends with Ernest Beaux, he tells few anecdotes about Beaux in this book and speaks very warmly of him.

I'm thinking between the 30ml N5 parfum or 7.5ml purse spray. Does the 30ml bottle come as a spray Dacob?
Unfortunately it does not. They have a 35ml spray TESTER of N°5 parfum but that one is never for sale. The only N°5 parfum spray they make at the moment is the 7.5ml size.

The new batch code of the pure parfum is disappointing... I tried to like it but I cannot..compared to the extrait of ten years ago this one the new batch code has an unbearable sage like nuance to it a herblike side to it that I don't like .maybe would be good as a male version of this one almost like a slight herbal aldehydic Chanel no 5 extract for men. Awesome 😎
It works for me and once it has gotten exposed to oxygen, it settles in and gets all its depth back
