Issues I see: 1. Drilled holes are not protected against moist. 2. Sealant should have been put around and in all drilled holes to make sure they are sealed on all sides. 3. Sealant should have been put all around the outside of the plate and around all big holes. 4. The breaker protects the cable and must be placed close to the battery, absolutely not close to the windlass. All the best and happy sailing!
The battery is there near the windlass. Actually right below it under the v berth so breaker is close to it. We did put resin on all the holes. I just did not show that part. The plate does have sealant all the way around the outside to protect against any water intrusion and each bolt has sealant between it and the plate to prevent moisture. The windlass itself has a gasket between it and the plate for protection. It was a long process and I did not show every step along the way. Thanks for the great tips and for watching!
