*Which of these games have you already played?*
*Which ones do you WANT to play? Let me know!* -BoomstickAlex
I'll let you guess which game I have played already, and I wanna try Dome Keeper in the near future (Boneraiser Minions looks fun too)
I just bought Skul on PS5 with a discount today. I think you recommended it last year?
This guy plays games for real. I respect the diversity and the presentation. salute.
Dude, you really believe he plays all these games all by himself? Wake up. Every large gaming channel hires a team to do the playing/editing/content writing.
@@gab_shirohige As his wife I can attest it is just Alex. He doesn’t have any employees. Aside from meals, and a few hours hanging with me on weekends, playing games, writing scripts, voiceover, editing, emails, networking… is all he does. I wish I had a fraction of his drive and dedication.
@@zoe_gamer_girl Thanks for clearing that up! In this age of AI tools, automation scripts, quantity over quality playing rules, profit over players mentality, and tons of low quality channels churning out low-effort content, it's _really_ easy to think this might another one of those channels. But Lord bless you for clearing up and detailing all the effort this guy puts in these videos. This is the first video I'm watching, but bc of your transparency and honesty about your husband's sweat, tears and effort being poured into this channel, I'm subscribing 😇⭐
@@zainmushtaq4347as his husband, I also confirm it’s just him.

Actually hidden gems in the list. Great work on this one
Soulstone Survivors is my new life
Honored to be part of such a cool list of gems :) Thank you Boomstick Gaming!
Tinykin is one of the greatest indie games if all time,up there with demon turf,a hat in time, Cuphead, Undertale, etc!
Agree! Its simply perfect
I was just hoping this entire time that SIgnalis would make it to the list. Big ups and bles the team at rose engine, amazing game
I've played Nightmare Reaper, it really slaps, worth every cent and more
This list has enough great games to last a year!..
Yakuza like a dragon OST in the background. Very nice, Respect.
Thanks for the list.
Nice to see Astlibra on here, definitely one of the most surprisingly fun titles to come out last year. Found it through word of mouth, and promptly 100 %-ed it. Highly recommend!
Chained Echoes + Salt And Sacrifice ... looks like I found my next two jams.
- Entropy zero 2: A must-play mod for any Half life fan! Plus it's free!
- Brotato: another one of those "vampire survivors like" or "autobattler" games, but really well-made.
- Just king: Same as above, but instead of buying weapons, you assemble a party of typical RPG characters
Glad to see Crystal Project get some love, that game deserves to be bigger.
Bravery and greed , blossom tales 2, and blacktail all getting bought because of this vid! As far as one you missed , I'd go with Soulstice! Even though I love the lastest god of war games (GOW. Ragnarok is my goty2022) , Soulstice plays like the ones prior to the 2018 gow, and it's awesome because of it!
Ahh why you do this to me, my backlog hates me more now lol. One game you could check out maybe is metal: hellsinger
Soulstice was no doubt one of the best action games I played in the year and it got like no recognition whatsoever
Thanks for the time stamps too
Immediately liked the video once I saw chained echoes under 10 seconds in. It's my favorite game right now!
Thanks !! Alot of these weren't on my list of games to get :) can't wait to try them and see more of your content!!
Ghost Song on Game Pass is phenomenal. Don't miss an opportunity to try it!
Tinykin is the best collectathon platformer I've played since Mario Odyssey. The story is pretty interesting too.
I’d also recommend a game called garlic. Super underrated precision platformer in the vein of celeste, but with a ton of its own personality and a neat little addition to the one jump and one dash type of moveset. It quickly became one of my favorite 2d platformers!
What a list! Thank you for including Cavity Busters among so many cool games! :)
As soon as the Like a Dragon music started...Ahhh, that's the stuff. Not sure I would have put Salt & Sacrifice on this list though. It was a major disappointment coming off of the back of Salt & Sanctuary. My own favorites from your list were Chained Echoes and Symphony of War.
Some hidden gems from this year I would personally recommend are:
FAITH: The Unholy Trinity, the conclusion to a unique retro-styled horror series
Entity Researchers, a surreal sci-fi roguelike fighting monsters with hints of SMT and the SCP Foundation
FixFox, a cute adventure game about repairing machines on an alien planet with no proper tools using only what you can scavenge and trade
Revita, a decently successful run-and-gun roguelite with plenty of secrets to discover
Buck Up and Drive!, a high-octane racing game with a focus on tricks and score chasing, which also inexplicably has a 1v1 fighting game mode
Dread Delusion, a first person sword and sorcery RPG on a surreal nightmare planet inspired by Morrowind
McPixel 3, a very short and very silly puzzle game about preventing disasters in increasingly wacky ways
Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, a title with Pentiment's art style about managing your business of brewing and selling magic potions
Potionomics, another game about managing a magic potion business, but this one is much more about the selling than the brewing
And Lunacid, another first person RPG, this time inspired by the original King's Field games by Fromsoft
And honestly, there's still more. So many great games manage to slip through the cracks.
Thanks, some great suggestions there.
Just as an addendum to this, I actually finished FixFox after writing this comment, and must regrettably strike it from my recommendations. The ending is _so_ awful.
WOOOO love this vids! My top hidden gem of 2022 was Spark the Electric Jester 3. Hope it made it into this video :D
1994 called, it wants its game back.
I am actually playing Salt and Sanctuary with my friend, so close to the end.Taking a break, because christmas time
I appreciate you introducing us to these gems!
Solid list. Saw some I definetly missed. Thank you
i am so surprised that i hadn't heard of over half these titles! great list!
I still think its tragic no one talked about Thymesia this year. Its a bloodborne style game where you play a plaguedoctor and have spectral powers its really fun and clocks in at about 15 hours
I did a combat guide on it
Great video! Got some new ideas from it, which is the definition of 'hidden gems'!
Probably Tamarin should have been on the list, which is an awesome indie 3D platformer / shooter.
Good content. I'm looking for small games for steam deck that have good gameplay and fun. I will buy many games from this list. Thank you.
Gonna pick up Jack Move. Hadn't heard of it till this video.
Appreciate it. 👍
Good list. I'd add Harvestella on PC with the playable amount of frames. The switch version might as well not exist.
this channel never misses
Salt and Sacrifice and Infernax are awesome games! Loved the LaD music ;-)
I'm glad you put the music credits in the description cuz I was racking my brain trying to figure out where I knew it from while watching on my ps5.
Great list, thanks 👍
This type of videos is rare!
thank you actually grab a few of these
Amazing list hats off
Quite the list. You have added a few to my backlog.
I picked up Symphony of War a little while back, can't wait til I get around to playing it. I loved Ogre Battle, so it's nice to see a new game that pays homage to it.
I also have a couple of the other games on this list.
Infernax (loved it)
Salt and Sacrifice (didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first game, still fun nonetheless)
I'm going to look into a couple more on this list, thanks! 👍
A perfect binge video to watch during the steam summer sale
Thanks for not wasting my time. I love your videos!
Well rip my wallet
these are they type of games I want to know about, GG boomstick
I haven't seen a single one of these before and I want to play them all. This is an incredible list. *ok I've seen like 4.
Now that's a list 👌 👏
This is a really good list overall. I would probably add both Spark the Electric Jester 3 and Freedom Planet 2 to this list as both got overshadowed by thr build up hype and release of Sonic Frontiers and both were unable to market themselves sufficiently with the latter having the misfortune of releasing on the same day as both a Nintendo Direct and a State of Play.
I'd probably try that survival horror rpg if it ever hits PlayStation, great list they all look like solid games.
Can say that I've played Astlibra Revision, Crystal Project, Neon White, and Salt and Sacrifice. Almost clocked 100 hours in both Astlibra and Crystal Project. About 40 in Neon White, and I've only played a few hours of Salt and Sacrifice. Absolute bangers, every single one of them.
great list... thanks
Thanks for the video, what game is in the outro?
It takes other channels 23 minutes to show 8 games; It takes you 8 minutes to show more than 23 games!
Tinykin was really good 👍
That was too much, too much I tell you.
Indie space hot as hell right now
I don't think nearly enough people talked about Case of the Golden Idol. It's definitely got some street cred, but really should have been a LOT bigger than its buzz.
I personally think that Soulstice (an hack & slash title developed by a small team that takes various elements of gameplay from dmc, bayonetta, nier and the old god of war, and heavely inspired to the manga Claymore) deserves some shotout; yes it does have some issues and it's not perfect, but it's really fun and challenging, with an interesting setting and character design; I also really like the graphic style
From this list I played; Zero Sievert, Putrid Shot Alpha, Kynseed, Symphony of War, Soulstone Survivors, Rollerdrome, Infernax, Pentiment, and Salt and Sacrifice. All these are top notch games. Check out 20 Minutes Till Dawn, It's similar to Vampire Survivors and Soulstone Survivors. Very addictive.
TinyKin was one of my favorite game of 2022 ! If you miss 3D plateformer, i recommand it a LOT. It doesn't just copy what was made before like Yooka Laylee be have really good new idea and the world you visit is super interesting !
Lunistice is an amazing game, please try it if you can!
If you like fast paced shooters you should rly rly try Warstride challenges. Been playing it Basicly nonstop and its sad to see how little people play it :D
Thanks Man you're really Big Man
Despot game and jack move is amazing
I love Soulstone Survivors. Very similar to Vampire Survivors but plays more like a regular diablo-like h&s.
Love the bgm choice.
What a list, guys. Holy Moly
This is content
A great gem this Year is NEO The World Ends With You that got its steam port this year. Pretty amazing action game.
neon white is pure gold
You should all play the entropy center if you like games like portal
Circadian Dice & Betrayal at Club Low!
Blossom Tales looks sick af
Good video.
I really like Dave the Diver, it's still in EA at present, but I think it's a fantastic game. Beneath Oresa was also pretty good, but tbh I am pretty sick of deck builders. Choo choo Charles is a hoot, or should I say 'a toot'. Cult of the Lamb was a total hit for me, I loved it so much I played it through 3 times. Dead Cells keeps getting MORE content, so happy about that. Dome Keeper has its hooks in me so bad I think I need counselling. And, Fabular and Zero Sievert had me rage-quitting on many many occasions, but in a good way 🤣 That's all I can think of off the top of my head. *My GOTY? VS by a mile.*
Salt and sacrifice really does deserve more attention, it came out way too close to elden ring for a soulslike. which is a shame because the original salt and sanctuary really was one the closest souls likes to capturing from softwares magic. if salt and sacrifice had come out when souls fans were fiending for the next from soft game, it probably would have been noticed way more. Oh well, the new one is still awesome and well worth the price of admission.
The problem wasn't that it released too close to Elden Ring, but that it wasn't as good as Sanctuary.
A truly despicable video. Now where’s my wallet again?…
i have played about half of these, Nobody saves the world is probly the best
Whats with the background music 😂
Indie games / small dev teams 78
Triple AAA / huge dev teams 1 (edit.... Forgot Elden Ring)
Another year when I didn't buy single EA, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Blizzard etc game. WINNING!!!!
ya you actually did ruin my backlog lol
me when yakuza like a dragon music
Mans got taste
rollerdome.... played it... love it... get it if you've ever wanted to shoot tony hawk in the face... i know I have.
Wait what was the last game?
Jack Move
@@BoomstickGaming thanks! Amazing video btw, i will definitely check out some of the games! I already played card shark, another game I would strongly recommend is Foretales
sorry I can't handle the mental soundtrack
zero seivert.
Good iist :3
OneShot
Airoheart says hi.
One very important missing game: Dave the Diver.
Nevertheless an excellent video.
I tried it during the making of this! Didn't quite make the cut
Great video but I'd love some commentary. It's hard to tell what makes a game special from just its graphics and a bit of gameplay alone
Dread dellusion for morrowind lovers
Great video except the music
Couldn’t get through it bc of the music
Only a few good titles...
Ngl man, Mario + Rabbids should have been in the list. That's a gem and a true masterpiece for the art and design of the world created
I had a threshold of a certain amount of sales. So, anything Mario is well over that. However, I did 2 big videos on Mario + Rabbids. Character class guide, and advanced combat guide.
@@BoomstickGaming unfortunately Mario + Rabbids 2 actually didn't seel very well, in Japan wasn't even a hit, so compared to the first that sold 10M copies this is a sleeping gem, but I agree that compared to most of this in the list at least 100k copies where sold. Wouldn't be sure about 1M
