In 1978 a boat by the name of Spirit of Australia set the record for fastest boat in the world. The boat was powered by a 6,000 horsepower jet engine designed by the help of the Australian Air Force to reach a speed of 317.6 miles per hour. The boat was piloted by Australian Ken Warby. The record still stands today.

Lee Taylor was on his way to smash the record in a boat called "Hustler" at lake Tahoe. He was well over the record at 348 mph on the 1st run ..the boat rolled and flipped..everybody who tried after Ken Warby ....killed

@@theborg5981I’m actually pretty sure that everyone who has attempted to beat the record to date has been killed. Water is far too unpredictable to go that fast. Anyone who even attempt this has to have balls of steel lol
