Totinos is a popular brand, if you want to look them up. You buy them in the frozen section of a grocery store and cook them in the oven.
@Vince Abate That sounds delightful! I want to make fresh pizza, but I need a hotter oven to make the best pizza. Pizza rolls are mostly just a quick food for kids and college students. I live about 5 miles away from where this was happening. These things are absolutely thunderous. I could feel parts of my house shaking and my dog was wondering what the hell was going on. Lol, loved it.
I use to have a 1950 Chevy truck with a 350 cubic inch souped up engine with an automatic transmission. My mother (rest her soul) use to tell people she knew when I drove up the driveway because all the windows in the house would rattle. We had a nice brick house. Also, I noticed that when I pulled up beside someone at a stop light, people would turn and look at me every time. A friend told me it made his car vibrate. My truck body would shake when in gear, running. So I understand what you are talking about. Nowhere near 10,000hp though. .
Eddie Hill was the first man to go under 1/4 of a mile in less than 5 seconds on a dragster. He then got into drag boating like this. He quit. He said it just scared him too much. That pretty much says it all.
@@nagow_360 Yes, I have zero horsepower and my torque makes the earth turn from north to south. And all that while my bike is parked, but the engine is working hard. I push the poles to the equator.
All courtesy of Charles Parsons that invented the steam turbine and dropped them into a boat that ripped the propellers to shreds. So he built a small water tank and a high-speed camera which showed a phenomenon called "cavitation". Tiny vacuum bubbles that degraded the metals and he redesigned the props to withstand this to make the worlds fastest ship - by four times over and changed marine history forever. Without props that can withstand the solid uncompressability of water and the cavitation that takes place these props would explode instantly with far less than 10K of horsepower. And he did it in 1894 with the ship "Turbinia". *That's being way ahead of your time.*
"continues to blast 200dBs of pain into my ears" Ever been to a dragstrip when the top-fuelers are on? If you don't have ear plugs/muffs and can hear anything but ringing for hours afterward, you were deaf to start with. You can *feel* those engine notes in your chest.
The engines have to be rebuilt after every race and the mechanics need to go to the ER after every engine rebuild. You don't even want to know what happens to the doctors.
how often do they warp a head? cranking the first bolt/nut to full torque is not recommended... bring them all up to spec in incriments is better.... but they are in a hurry
This is why UA-cam is so great. I had no idea these even existed until now. And how do the boats not just flip over from the insane immediate torque? !!
Hi, yes the torque has been a problem, the used to have to try and control it with rudder. But these boats now use 2 counter rotating props after the invention of a gearbox they call a W-drive which has been a game changer and a lot less accidents.
@@xtreme3minutevideos887 Last time I was around race boats (I crewed for a guy with an unblown gas flatbottom) they were V-drives. Back then, the Top Fuel Hydro drivers had to fight like hell to keep the boat going straight. Good to hear they have progressed to a W-drive to counter-balance the torque. They had to with that much HP pushing what is essentially a small toy boat. Thanks for the info.
I would REALLY like to see one of these races in person. AND a sprint boat race. Two on my bucket list. I was amazed when I saw one of these boats in person the first time...they are TINY! I've seen an unlimited "offshore" race, and that was spectacular. What really amazes me with these boats is the safety in place and how well it functions. I've seen several "incidents" where I didn't think the pilot had any chance of survival, and usually "walks away" unscathed. Kudos to whoever made this happen.
Being there is amazing, especially at the starting line. The thunderous sound, the 1/4 mile rooster tail, it's like nothing else you've ever experienced. See in in person if you can.

And that’s in 1000 feet. if Nhra went back to a quarter of a mile they would probably be doing 345 or even 350 mph. I was at the finish line when she crossed it doing that speed. It was crazy!
The thing that always stuns me when I watch these guys is how the rooster tail of water is still falling at the start line AFTER the boat shuts down at the end of the run! Even when they ran the full quarter mile, the rooster tail hung in the air until after shutdown. Eddie Hill once said his top-fuel dragster didn't accelerate as hard as his boat! It's just wrong!
I went to a drag boat race back in 1996, Robinson reservoir near Turlock California . Fastest speed that day was 228MPH. Also saw a wicked crash. Halfway down the course, a boat disintegrated. The driver was ok, but the only part of his boat intact was the motor. Stood by the pits and watched the crews rebuild the engine. One of crew said to me “ See that, $5K in parts just to get ready for the next run. They tested the engine. The noise is insane.

They used to race these boats on the Savannah River in Augusta, GA. These videos don't do the sound justice. The first time I saw a race, I couldn't believe how loud it was.
I'd love to....sit by the cooler with a cold one under the umbrella and watch. That's amazing really. I grew up on a like that races cigarette racers and it's fun to watch. Every boat has an accompanying helicopter. Good video thanks for sharing!!!

I remember the great Eddie Hill saying “my top fuel dragster doesn’t accelerate as hard as my boat.” You can see the fabric of space-time warp when the boat gets up on a plane. There is nothing as violent in the motor sports world as the first half of a top fuel hydro run!

I blew the sheets off the bed, once. It looked like throwing a sheet of paper at a box fan.
Odd combination
@Vince Abate I feel sad for you. Pizza rolls are small, like a fat raviolis that are made of pizza crust filled with pizza sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. There are other flavors, too.
They aren't intended for people who want a good quality pizza. They are a finger food. They are fun to eat sometimes.

I'm most Amazed by the quality of engines and the way that they rebuild them it's just like watching drag racing on concrete only on water I've never been to one of those hydro boat races but I bet you those are pretty cool to watch
If you like Motorsports, you'll love boat racing. Check them out they race on allmost every big lake coast to coast. Last one 1 saw was on St Lawrence Seaway in western up-State NY. It was awesome!!
@@intimidator.jb3470 well actually the kind of boat racing that I'm into is super power boat I live for a 13 miles from Michigan City Indiana and they have offshore powerboat racing ocean-going boats there super fast super cool and the element of danger is there only they use 4 engines instead of just one. And the next time I'm in Las Vegas we hope to catch the drag racing championship in Vegas

@@xtreme3minutevideos887 damn... I am more surprised you replied so quick on a video so old 🫡🫡 as said in the video... "NICE!!" 🤣
I'm more impressed there was a Hi-Speed Camera in 1894.
Well, this sure beats my other video recommendations - "Andes Goat Herding" and "Trombone Repair For Novices"

i want to see a system who gets 200 db

This is hilarious...how often do the mechanics with the torque wrenches knock each other out?
The engines have to be rebuilt after every race and the mechanics need to go to the ER after every engine rebuild. You don't even want to know what happens to the doctors.
colorado841 only us that have been there know...and then you sleep in the truck....
how often do they warp a head? cranking the first bolt/nut to full torque is not recommended... bring them all up to spec in incriments is better.... but they are in a hurry
I make fun because I've been there, I was the crew chief on a dragster......
ED4action I dare say they know what there doing 🤷♂️
This is why UA-cam is so great. I had no idea these even existed until now. And how do the boats not just flip over from the insane immediate torque? !!
Hi, yes the torque has been a problem, the used to have to try and control it with rudder. But these boats now use 2 counter rotating props after the invention of a gearbox they call a W-drive which has been a game changer and a lot less accidents.
Occasionally they do. I knew a guy years ago that had one flip on him at 100mph and had him skipping across the water. Bruised him up pretty good
@@xtreme3minutevideos887 Last time I was around race boats (I crewed for a guy with an unblown gas flatbottom) they were V-drives. Back then, the Top Fuel Hydro drivers had to fight like hell to keep the boat going straight. Good to hear they have progressed to a W-drive to counter-balance the torque. They had to with that much HP pushing what is essentially a small toy boat. Thanks for the info.
In the beginning I turned it up when they were just idling and I was like pfft that's it?? then they took off and I about fell back in my chair.. lol
I honestly didn't think acceleration like that was possible. The figures are just incredible , makes cars look like snails.
Yes it's hard to believe, even when you're standing right there.
Well.. At least cars don't need a full engine rebuild after every run and consume about 1/50th or so of what these boats consume.

Also saw a wicked crash.
Halfway down the course, a boat
disintegrated. The driver was ok, but
the only part of his boat intact was the
motor.
Stood by the pits and watched the crews
rebuild the engine. One of crew said to
me “ See that, $5K in parts just to get ready for the next run.
