Well done. I can see why he's a world champion farrier, he's excellent in his treatment of her and in his skills. It had to be affirming when he complimented you on your care and training (which shows so well). The trim had to feel good to her, she looked so much more comfortable afterward. That early day's comparison image shows how far you've brought her. No hesitation getting in the box both at home and at the farrier. Curiosity, a little anxious, but no fear. Oh, big hugs.

What a difference a pedicure has done to her foot placement!. You could see as you walked her out of the barn she noticed the change in her feet and placed them down gingerly at first, her feet have perfect shape now and the oiling was just icing on the cake. I love her shorty grunts as she explored the barn. She was probably wondering where all the new horses she could smell were hiding, lol. Best of all, your smile when you finally could relax and bask in the success of all the hard work put in to her first successful pedi!.......so proud!. Well done to all involved! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😁❤️👍👍
Little Miss Twinkle Toes has had her first ‘pedicure’ and she did spectacularly! She is a completely different horse from the one that came to you 8 weeks ago. What a good girl she is! What a testimony to the love and care she has received from you, Rens, Steve and her four-legged brothers of all shapes and sizes. I just love that smile on your face....it says it all! Love how Steve calls Bella missus. What a good job he did and she let him do. Letting him, a complete stranger, pick up her feet, drop noisy instruments next to her, use those instruments on her feet... Hooray! That was so satisfying to see and watch a Master at work. I missed most of the dialogue because of background noise but clearly this was a success! Bella seemed to mince along on her brand new toes :)) so shiny too! Congratulations!
It looks like she’s getting dapples! What a good farrier. He was quick, quiet and professional. All of your work building her foundation has paid off, and the farrier’s manner kept it a good experience.
I thought she was getting dapples too!! But I wasn’t quite sure. I think next Spring after months of TLC and a happy home life those dapples are going to sparkle!
Your smile at the end speaks volumes. She was so good. I know nothing about horses but it seemed to me that she very quickly picked up on the idea that Steven was there to help her and she should be more comfortable now. Great day.

Aw what a lovely surprise.... Oh dear, I started a disagreement about the feathers. We all know Friesians generally wear their feathers but in this case Tara doesn't like them so they are gone. Yes, Bella is an Andalusian, not a Friesian. I was hoping to persuade Tara to keep them for Bella even tho' I knew the chance was slim. She won't. She doesn't like them. I think they make her feet look like she is wearing high heels. 👠

Tara i must say that I really admire your approach to training your horses. Letting them learn at their own pace, giving multiple cues for various commands especially verbal cues, being firm but fair, and I also appreciate the fact that you explain what you're doing, why you're doing it and you do it to where anyone, horse person or not, can understand what you're talking about. Also, many people don't know that horses can learn verbal cues and not even need a physical one to perform a task. Val, the man i worked for as a teen that bred and raised Arabians, told me that Arabs can easily learn 40+ verbal commands and i taught my OTTB about a dozen or so. I'm glad to see that Bella has learned to seek you out for reassurance and confidence when the boys aren't around. Very noticeable when you unloaded her at the farrier's house. She has truly come a long way in a very short time thanks to you. I can't wait to see how she continues to grow and learn and develop in your very capable hands. I've watched a ton of your videos and can see a big difference in the boys as well even though they were much more tame and mature when you got them. Congratulations Tara you have prepared her beautifully for her first trip to the farrier. All that work was so well worth it for both Bella and the farrier. Some people do no prep and expect the poor farrier to manhandle them resulting in a bad experience. She took it all in her stride I was really proud of her and she's not even my horse lol. She is coming along beautifully and is going to be a stunning horse that you should be very proud of.

Fantastic!!! Its all come from the grpund work youve done with her Tara. Firm but fair. My little dartmoor filly was wild as was born on the moor,and I did exactly the same ground work as you. Its only fare to the farrier and the horse. You look chuffed to bits,its a lovely feeling isnt it!

We had one farrier come trim our horse...he whacked her on her side with the rasp when she was fidgeting...LAST time we used him!! I cannot tolerate that! That very first visit with the farrier, a developmental MILESTONE :) I was so proud for you Tara (and Rens and Steve and Ike) with all the work and love and so much CARE taken to make sure she would be ready and safe for herself and the Farrier. She was MARVELOUS! Good morning Tara, Bella’s cute little snorts & while Bella’s having her spa shower 🚿 she sounds like she is tap dancing with her hooves on the cement pavement in between snorting. Well done Bella 🍎🍎 getting into the horse box & off to have a pedicure. All these strange smells at the farrier’s & getting Bella use to it, Well done Tara you’ve taught Bella very well, it certainly makes the job easier for the farrier. What a testimony to the love and care she has received from you, Rens, Steve and her four-legged brothers of all shapes and sizes. I just love that smile on your face....it says it all! Love how Steve calls Bella missus. What a good job he did and she let him do. Letting him, a complete stranger, pick up her feet, drop noisy instruments next to her, use those instruments on her feet... I am proud of you and her; you did a perfect job preparing her for the entire outing. She took on the entire experience with her usual curiousity; the only thing that gave away her nervousness was that cute snorting.

Hooray! That was so satisfying to see and watch a Master at work. I missed most of the dialogue because of background noise but clearly this was a success! Bella seemed to mince along on her brand new toes :)) so shiny too!

It looks like she’s getting dapples! What a good farrier. He was quick, quiet and professional. All of your work building her foundation has paid off, and the farrier’s manner kept it a good experience.
I thought she was getting dapples too!! But I wasn’t quite sure. I think next Spring after months of TLC and a happy home life those dapples are going to sparkle!
Your smile at the end speaks volumes. She was so good. I know nothing about horses but it seemed to me that she very quickly picked up on the idea that Steven was there to help her and she should be more comfortable now. Great day.

Oh dear, I started a disagreement about the feathers. We all know Friesians generally wear their feathers but in this case Tara doesn't like them so they are gone. Yes, Bella is an Andalusian, not a Friesian. I was hoping to persuade Tara to keep them for Bella even tho' I knew the chance was slim. She won't. She doesn't like them. I think they make her feet look like she is wearing high heels. 👠

Tara i must say that I really admire your approach to training your horses. Letting them learn at their own pace, giving multiple cues for various commands especially verbal cues, being firm but fair, and I also appreciate the fact that you explain what you're doing, why you're doing it and you do it to where anyone, horse person or not, can understand what you're talking about. Also, many people don't know that horses can learn verbal cues and not even need a physical one to perform a task. Val, the man i worked for as a teen that bred and raised Arabians, told me that Arabs can easily learn 40+ verbal commands and i taught my OTTB about a dozen or so. I'm glad to see that Bella has learned to seek you out for reassurance and confidence when the boys aren't around. Very noticeable when you unloaded her at the farrier's house. She has truly come a long way in a very short time thanks to you. I can't wait to see how she continues to grow and learn and develop in your very capable hands. I've watched a ton of your videos and can see a big difference in the boys as well even though they were much more tame and mature when you got them. Thank you again for sharing with all of us and kudos to you for your teaching and training techniques!

Congratulations Tara you have prepared her beautifully for her first trip to the farrier. All that work was so well worth it for both Bella and the farrier. Some people do no prep and expect the poor farrier to manhandle them resulting in a bad experience. She took it all in her stride I was really proud of her and she's not even my horse lol. She is coming along beautifully and is going to be a stunning horse that you should be very proud of.

We had one farrier come trim our horse...he whacked her on her side with the rasp when she was fidgeting...LAST time we used him!! I cannot tolerate that! That very first visit with the farrier, a developmental MILESTONE :) I was so proud for you Tara (and Rens and Steve and Ike) with all the work and love and so much CARE taken to make sure she would be ready and safe for herself and the Farrier. She was MARVELOUS! Oh what a wonderful video! Great job Tara working with her feet before she went. It paid off immensely. And the farrier worked so quickly, stellar job on his part as well. I am over joyed that she has come such a long way under your love and care! And those snorts of hers is just the funniest thing ever. Never heard a horse snort so much. Clever and smart that little girl of yours is!! Bravo!!

That was so amazing, you wouldn’t have known it was the first time she had her little feet done, can’t believe how much Steve had to take off, they looked so smart when done, at the end she still walked as though they were still long but she will soon get used to it. You looked so proud and happy with her Tara, she has come such a long way in a short time. Well done Bella and Tara I think I’ll call you the horse whisperer, you have such a wonderful way with horses. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰

Hi Tara what an amazing horsewoman you are, Bella has been so well prepared in a kind and gentle way it is truly beautiful to watch her transformation in such a short time. Your farrier was brilliant with her and she was so well behaved for her 1st visit. Whatever path you take with her 100% she will be ready.
