Zeppelin WAS very influenced by black blues. But also Celtic folk, rockabilly, R&B, Delta and more. And Robert was VERY much a hippie as much as he was a rocker! Lot going on with this band which is why they covered so many genres.
It's not all blues! Ramble on has blues jazz and hard rock! This song is more Rock than blues! Remember Zeppelin gave birth to metal on dazed and confused at around the 3 minute mark!
I would argue that the "peace and love" movement that the hippies started ENDED the day Zeppelin came into the forefront. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, as an example, I would consider to be more hippie than Zep.
This is the era and music I grew up on. It is all about the hippie movement. It is an era that you did not experience first hand. What ended the era was disco… The Bee-Gees for one.
Hey I respect your opinion. HOWEVER... Most of the bands at that time had developed a God complex, whereas the hippies were all about peace, love, and togetherness. Think about the biggest bands in the world: Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, and KISS.. hell even the DOORS... None of those bands had ANYTHING to do with the hippie movement. In style? Perhaps, but that's just 70's style. When I think about hippies, I think about all the music that was coming out of San Francisco in the mid to late 60's... annnnd none of those bands came out of San Francisco. You didn't have to BE there to be able to recognize history. In fact, Quadrophenia was all about mod culture and how even THAT culture left behind so many. So while, I respect your opinion, I feel like that your opinion is factually incorrect. Have a good day! :)
The GOSTS….PERIOD NO DEBATE!!!!!!!!😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Well said.
Saw them live in Chicago at the Chicago Stadium. My favorite band
Amazing! Super lucky!
I was at that show, if you mean the 1971 show! We heard Stairway before the album was released! One of the greatest experiences of my life!
When the Levee breaks...
Now THAT'S a good idea!
This song is magnificent! Lord Of The Rings references...they loved that!
Indeeeeed!
I would definitely describe Robert Plant as a hippie,he was and still is a free spirit 😊
Rambling on means moving on - traveling.
Great reaction Please do OVER THE HILLS FAR AWAY by Led Zepplien
Check out the cover of Led Zeppelin 1. Speaking of the blues try When The Levee Breaks.
Give a listen to Since I’ve been Loving You I’m sure you’ll love it
STUDIO VERSION ALWAYS !!!
Ramble is an old U.S. southern country word for travel, paricularly in the black population, but not exclusively. "Time to go" basically.
That devil stuff is BS! 🤪 Dude, do them live! 🙏
This is one of their best but i won't call it a favourite out of respect for their discology

True, but ALL rock comes from blues! :)
It is definitely hippy music. smh
